The Last Stand: Aftermath is as good a zombie roguelike as I’ve ever played. Scrounging for ammo and crafting materials never stops being a desperate struggle, and the balance between virus-fueled perks and ever-dwindling health ensures that every combat encounter is a tense struggle. Exceptionally great design, balance, and gameplay turn this into one of the best action rogues I’ve ever played, and it’s a clear high-point in the survival horror genre.

The Last Stand: Aftermath is supposed to be challenging, though, so some of the quality of life mechanics I want to see are probably absent by design. As it is, The Last Stand: Aftermath distinguishes itself from other zombie survival/roguelite games by virtue of its unique new character respawn idea and the incredibly detailed and believable post-zombie apocalypse world it imagines. The ability to retain gear and perks between deaths leavens the difficulty enough to let the addictive, just-one-more-try elements shine through. I’ve yet to reach the final stage, but I’ll keep trying.

I really enjoyed this one, despite the jank it has sometimes it's really fun and addicting, it was really hard at first but once you got it, you'll feel like you're on a roll, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like this, but I feel like the stages weren't getting harder everytime you enter a new one, here's how I'd rank it: Stage 4 > 2 > 3 > 1, but the burping infected man is more difficult to handle than the poison lady for me, Stage 2 is especially difficult because of that gorilla zombie, almost quit the game, but like I said, once you got over it, you'll really enjoy the game.

This game delivers tense and fresh runs with intricate gameplay, solid randomization, and a strong progression system despite some balance concerns.

This is a fantastic return to form for the well-established series after the mess that was Dead Zone. It brings back familiar elements from the first entries in the series while using its newly implemented roguelike aspect to put players in very tense situations where the next decision may very well end in death.

A surprisingly solid game, despite some questionable balance choices. Multiple runs always feel fresh and tense thanks to complex gameplay mechanics, excellent randomization of various situations and a good progression system.

The Last Stand: Aftermath is a blast from the past and enjoyable rogue-like that is unfortunately infected with bugs.

The Last Stand: Aftermath is an engaging zombie-themed roguelike that unfortunately runs out of ideas too fast. The steady voyage across the zombie-infested post-apocalypse whilst scavenging for scarce resources is a tense and fairly enjoyable experience, but only for a while. As a game built around repetition and short playthroughs, The Last Stand: Aftermath recycles enemies and environments too frequently for the amount of time you replay them. The addition of mutations and new player equipment load-outs are a nice touch, but ultimately don’t do enough to mix up the experience. Rewarding progression and an engaging premise mean the game is certainly worth checking out for fans of roguelikes and zombie games, although it might not hold your attention for very long.

It's a decent rogue hack-and-slash game. The difficulty was too high so I had to use cheats (and since the game allowed that I'm giving it a 7). There are just way too many zombies and the gun reload times are pretty high. The ammo is also very very limited. I get it. We can buy an upgrade that will help us get lots of ammo. I felt that ammo should have been a given by default. It was fun to die and repeat. The only thing I wish was that I could have continued from where I died because the game was too long. You take a car, search for fuel (that's the main gameplay I would say). Then drive that car into the next location. There's also lots of shooting involved which was cool. The melee fighting (hand to hand was quite lack-luster and you're practically dead once you reach that). I wish the maps were smaller and the amount of zombies were 50% lesser and ammo was 200% more, then I would have really enjoyed it. I finished the suburbs section and reached the forest area. At this point my motivation to continue dropped considerably. Quit at that point.

Not a bad game for it's budget. Get repetitive over time and not much re-playable, but can keep you busy for a few evenings, especially of you are into this kind of games

Boring and repetitive. A shallow remake of the web browser version. The gameplay is so outdated and It doesn't seem interesting at all.

A very mediocre game. The idea of a rougelite/roguelike zombie game feels right, but this game just doesn't have enough to make keep you going. Gameplay is repetitive and gets boring pretty quick. The game feels too slow and the time pressure of the disease killing the characters you play (I thought this would be that main thing this game is going for) is practically non-existent. I really wanted to like this game, but there is nothing in it that makes me want to keep going.

No open-world. Repetative. Lack **** story. Locations are tiny. Tends to lag on RTX2060.
