Pretty little explosions and detailed alien foes make this a visual treat, and the frantic action is always absorbing. [July 2007, p.107]

It can get a bit hard to see where you're going with so much happening, and progression doesn't feel as though it's entirely in your hands, but for enjoyment, sparkle and that 'one more go' factor, this is a hard one to turn down. [July 2007, p.85]

Graphically, as PSN games go, Super Stardust HD is superb, and it nicely combines the neon glow of Geometry Wars with the detailed retro pixel work of the first Stardust. The difficulty level is spot on, providing a challenge without causing a headache.

I played this game in my childhood, it's a good challenge for shoot em'up fans

Okay, it is a pretty looking version of ****. I bought it, because it is one of the rare two-button-shooters on the system. There are also 3 types of weapons on the first planet. But when you play the game for two hours without advancing at all - I got stuck before the first checkpoint - the game gets boring very quick: Always the same enemys and weapons don't make you play is as long as you might one day absolve the whole planet after 10-20 hours of training basically the same **** game I played in the eighties. There might be much more variety, but the game is simply too hard for that gamer with 30 years of experience that I am - I am not too good at action games I admit. So, maybe fans of hardcore hard games might like this, but I regret the 8 euro I spend on the game.

Super Stardust HD one-ups "Geometry Wars" on every front, and as such, should be a game that keeps players coming back for a long time. Seven months after the PS3's launch, it sounds silly to say that one of the best games for the system only costs eight dollars, but it might be true.

Its visuals, gameplay and intricacy make it the best downloadable shooter available since "Geometry Wars: Evolved" – end of story.

Even though it’s just a remake, it’s one of the best ones available so far.

If you have room in your heart for yet another Robotron clone, Super Stardust HD is a good addition to this well-worn genre.

This game is awesome. I put off buying it for the longest time because I expected it to be a bad attempt at geometry wars but it turns out it's even better. Also this is the only game I've tried so far that's worth playing in 3d, it still kills my eyes but it's really fun.

So good. So inmersive. Just beautiful. It´s amazing and completely fun. It´s one of the best modern dual stick shooters. Yes it only got 5 Maps and a handful of enemies and a couple of weapons but you get so much out of it.

High-score hounds might find this one worth a look. For all intents and purposes it's a good game that delivers some solid twin-stick shooter fun. However, now in a time where the genre has been dominated by the likes of the newest Geometry Wars this feels kind of bare. To be honest it kind of feels like a version of Geometry Wars where all of the maps are the same shape (spherical). Blasting you way through the levels and racking up that high-score is pretty fun and will likely get it's hooks into the more competitive players out there who want to get their name high on the leader-boards. For the rest of us there isn't enough content to keep us in it for the long haul. The cooperative modes do add some extra life to the package, but with only two single-player offering out of the gate that have the exact same levels it's up to the DLC to keep things going. Tossing out those extra dollars is only going to be worth it to those really into the game, especially given it's age. It's a good game. One with solid, arcade-style gameplay. If you like high-score hunting this is a good choice. Just keep in mind that it's light on content and has some age on it.

Playable with a friend but it is personally not motivational enough for me to play solo.
