Overall, it’s your usual item marketplace that can be found in many other live-service games. But the inclusion of some core progression features and rewards makes the monetization here one of the more egregious examples I can remember.
Recommending a GaaS title is always a gamble, especially in its early days, and Synduality: Echo of Ada is no exception. The core gameplay is solid, engaging, and entertaining, but the game could have had more content and the monetization is aggressive, also the game doesn't always respect players’ time. The way Game Studio e Bandai Namco built up the game makes it similar to a free-to-play, and in that case it would be a must-play, but the €40 price tag may raise some eyebrows. However, if you're a fan of extraction shooters, intrigued by the game's distinct Japanese aesthetic, or looking for a less "hardcore" entry into the genre, it might be worth considering. The real question is whether Game Studio and Bandai Namco will support it with meaningful content updates; an official roadmap would certainly help. For now, trips to Amasia may feel bittersweet, but with enough dedication, the game could still deliver some highly rewarding moments.
If you give it a chance, SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada is an interesting game. It will still be a repetitive game, but it ends up becoming addictive. Its unique world and the desire to discover more about it can make up for the high grind and frustration - especially at the beginning - of losing everything because you were too ambitious.

Tried this game out as part of the PS Plus freebie and having other players just camped you out of the AO ores were definitely not fun at all. Also virtually there was very little story telling and what was there was not engaging enough for players to get invested in this world. Overall it feels like a half-baked game with some good ideas but very poorly execution. I predicted the server will close out soon in 2026.

The game has a solid foundation but is held back by its terrible genre of being an extraction shooter. The pvp is horribly unbalanced and not fun. If the developers would listen to their fans and make a pve only co op option it would easily be an 8-9. In its current state, it's fun but extremely frustrating. The pvp is dreadful.

Synduality Echo of Ada is the ultimate extraction experience - sanding off rough edges and putting a shine on the most exciting elements of the genre. Bundled together with cool mechs, customizable characters, and tight combat just makes this sweet experience even sweeter.

Es un juego que te da la adrenalina que necesitaba un juego de mecas. Estoy arto de títulos que intentan ofrecer mucho y no dejan de ser misiones lineales. Es un juego que merece la pena si tienes nervios de acero.

SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada is an extraction shooter that offers an immersive experience with deep customization and strategic combat. However, its weak narrative and PvP mode imbalance can be frustrating. For fans of the genre, it's worth a try, but it may not be for everyone.

The mecha-based extraction shooter offers a unique take on the genre with strategic, weighty gameplay and deep customization, but its repetitive missions, grind-heavy progression, and premium monetization elements hold it back from reaching its full potential.

Synduality has potential as extraction shooters and a lot of good ideas in terms of setting and gameplay mechanics, but the game is in dire need of more content, better balance and a better user experience.

If all you’re after is a mostly chilled extraction game occasionally broken up by fights to the death, you could do worse than Synduality: Echo of Ada.

Hey Poor Player
Synduality: Echo of Ada had the potential to carve out its own niche by being an accessible extraction shooter available on console. It’s not completely without merit, with its snappy gunplay making for an exciting PvPvE experience and the novel Magus system initially showing a lot of promise. However, a laborious early game grind, and monetization so egregious that I don’t see anyone but the most hardcore of audiences sticking around severely sour the experience. Whether Game Studio can course correct remains to be seen, but early signs point towards yet another live service title that runs the risk of having its lifespan cut short due to excessive grind and greed.

A game that is unacceptable due to its structure, filled with all the wrong choices.

I like the gameplay and the idea. I'm even fine with the pvp side. BUT losing your Mech is pure BS, especially with the unbalance in game and the ubergrind. If you can keep the mech for a fee after destruction ok, at least bring the offline mode now and not when the game dies. Update: changed my 4 to a 1 Grievers everywhere, a bit of pvp is fine, but this kills ut for me, especially because you loose everything. Waiting for the game to die (guess 1,2 month) and gonna enjoy it when they then bring the offline mode.
