I believe the developers at Haemimont Games made a great decision in relaunching the original Surviving Mars. Many reviews claim that the game is too similar to the original. However, I think this should be obvious given that it is a “relaunch.” The game isn’t designed as a sequel to the original. Instead, it serves to bring the game more up-to date with modern gaming, running on more advanced engines. It is a relaunching on the game’s life and for that, I think it is doing it’s job well. Plus, with future DLCs, the game will hopefully continue to be worked on and improved. I can see a bright future ahead of Surviving Mars: Relaunched, and a bright future for life on Mars!

Stylish and slow-paced sci-fi building simulation with different stages and increasing complexity, that still has a few flaws.

Surviving Mars: Relaunched is a must-play for any city-builder fan. There is plenty of depth and creativity from collecting resources to building and managing your colony to full-on terraforming a planet.

Much slower than original one, buggy when modding, lua code working differently so code is not working same way, missing mods from original play, many layout improvements were not added as expected. Old mods are not working, mods from this version are not working on older one. 2 versions split modding group, Much about modding i know but Its quite empty sandbox - its all about creating new content.

I played the base Surviving Mars first, which was being given away for free. I really liked it, so I bought this one. For me, it felt like the original but with all the DLCs included, which made for a great experience — even the politics were manageable. The negative comments about it being a cash grab don’t really affect me.

Surviving Mars is one of my three best games of all time (next to HoMM3 and F:NV). I was sceptical regarding remaster, but I need to say that I was amazed with changes to interface and gameplay. Game gets harder and more complexed, last DLCs are finally playable. My review of 10/10 is for game itself - this is how this game should be released on day 1.I call it lazy work of developers to give us final release after 6 years.

The game was awful at launch and I gave it a well deserved 0 for the insane amount of game breaking bugs and awful pricing. Hopefully it wasn't abandoned and after patch 1.04 everything in the main game seems stable, no issues with citizens, trains are working great. Kinda my bad for preordering it, I played the original game for 150 hours without ever realising it was a Paradox game ¯_(ツ)_/¯
