This is a title I consider the best game I've played period. I'm not talking necessarily about the campaign or the multiplayer or the arcade, it's about the whole package once you deeply engage with StarCraft. I got **** into the game as an esports fan but quickly found passion to play myself. I guess, if I try to put into words, what makes a truly all-time game, is that you can't get enough of it. StarCraft provides that with a challenge to become a better player every time you log in. The ever-evolving meta, deep unit interactions, infinite number of scenarios a match can present, limitless skill cap and all that — resting solely on how good are you as a solo player. It hurts to see StarCraft loosing its commercial spotlight and fading into an obscure niche. I miss grand hypes before million dollar events or crazy fun league coverage in Korea. But nevertheless StarCraft does live and still deliver fresh emotions. This truly is a perfect game, may be even more than just a game.

Finished StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void. It closes the trilogy with solid ideas in mission design and notable replay value, but the overall result falls short of what one would expect from a saga of this stature. It is by no means a bad game; it offers good moments and genuinely fun mechanics. The main issue lies in how the story is wrapped up and an epilogue that, for me, undermines the whole experience. From a gameplay perspective, the Protoss campaign offers a good variety of objectives and situations that force the player to adapt. The Spear of Adun, which allows you to instantly deploy units almost anywhere on the map, opens the door to some truly enjoyable strategies. I admit that at first the Protoss did not appeal to me much, but this tactical twist gave the faction a lot of personality and strategic depth. Mission design is generally creative and succeeds in maintaining strategic tension; however, the balance is not flawless. During the epilogue, the game forces you to play again as Terran and Zerg in missions with higher complexity. If you played the Protoss campaign first or returned to the game after a long break, as I did, it is very likely that you will have forgotten key habits and shortcuts for those races, making the finale feel messy and somewhat **** the audiovisual side, the game delivers what the series has traditionally offered: clear unit models, readable battle effects, and a presentation that supports tactical clarity. That said, the cinematics did not fully convince me. They appear to be low resolution, almost like videos that failed to load properly, which reduces the dramatic impact of important moments.Narratively, the game aims for an epic conclusion but drifts into overly fantastical territory in a rather inelegant way. Without spoilers, the ending left me cold and, in my opinion, weakens the trilogy as a whole. The final scenes and the way several narrative threads are resolved felt unsatisfying and inconsistent with the overall tone of the story.Technically, the game performs well, with stable performance and a very polished RTS interface. The overall experience is solid, though it does not break new ground technologically. Replayability is one of its true strengths: modes, challenges, and the option to replay missions under different conditions add a lot of **** a final note, and not a minor one, I was surprised to find that the game has been turned into free to play. That in itself is fine. However, I discovered that a permanent internet connection is required even to play the campaign, which is an entirely offline experience. This is, at best, disappointing, as there is no logical reason to force an online connection for content that does not require it. The day Blizzard shuts down for good, I will dance on its grave.Overall, Legacy of the Void is recommended for fans of the genre and for followers of the saga who want to see how it ends, but it does not reach the masterful finale many were hoping for. Strong mechanics and very enjoyable moments are weighed down by an excessively fantastical ending and an uneven epilogue.

I would rate StarCraft 2 a perfect 10 out of 10. It is a brilliant and genius continuation of the legendary first game. The story is phenomenal and kept me interested from the beginning to the end. The balance between the three races is fantastic and every matchup feels fair and exciting. The gameplay for each race is fresh, updated and very interesting, with many new mechanics. Cinematic cutscenes are incredible and feel like a high quality movie. The missions are very different from each other, so the campaign never feels boring. Multiplayer is deep and competitive, but still fun even if you are not a pro player. For me, StarCraft 2 is an absolute phenomenon of the 21st century and a true masterpiece.

I just completed the LotV campaign in one sitting for the first time. Thoughts.. Even though I just played all the missions over the course of 18 hours, I don't remember what any of the important plot elements or drivers for the story were. We went to planets and there were todos. All levels for the latter 2 expansions were reduced to waves of super hybrids being announced on the map moving toward you and some todos. Every hybrid is identical even if the model is slightly tweaked: a melee creature that walks towards you and then stands still while attacking. Hybrids were repetitive and boring gameplay in HotS! Blizzard should have studied Ridley Scott's Prometheus for inspiration on the potentials of their hybrid storyline of bioengineering P, T and Z together. The prologue of Warcraft3 mission #4 has more unique character models than all new protoss, npc and hybrid models created for LotV (and that's a handicap considering all hybrids are slight variants). Every part of the campaign was reduced by extending each campaign it into standalone releases of bigger size, but unlike making a rich sauce, the result was forgettable and dull gameplay. NPCs were conjured up without soul, the ship conversations were a sad way to drive lore and every mission broke any chance of immersion by starting with "this is how you do this little task with this new unit" even though you're playing missions 37-60 of SC2. I paid $40 for it when it was released because I'm addicted to the multiplayer and so all in all I spent $120 for one multiplayer gaming experience. It's a shameless Blizzard tactic that consistently harms the product. The SC1 ending on Char was a memorable battle (and milestone in the progression of RPS games) and SC2: WoL was an incredible push forward through zerg infested trenches on Char. After WoL, none of the two following campaigns recreated moments of intensity or required strategy. The difficult parts were completed with spammy choring and Amon's hordes of controlled Z, P and T removed all factional complexity in the fight. Outside of the fight, the factions were as flat as the hybrid grind, such as Moebius, Tal'darim, and the void god Amon. For a game with a premise of building bases in 60 different missions, it could have used effective world building from the writers and any factors that build emotional connections with the process. Complex ship scenery with cutscene conversations are not supplements. A lot of the missions could have been subsections of bigger missions, building the relationship between the player, planet, objectives, story, etc with more engrossing and deeper gameplay. Aren't we invading planets? Reconolonizing homeworlds? Traveling dimensions? Toppling regimes? Destroying a God? Okay, cool, did that, it took 40 minutes and now I have an NPC on my ship. Abandoning the SC1 format of 3 races each driving the story forward within the two SC1 campaigns was a big loss. Instead of the story feeling action packed as it jumps from narative angle to narative angle, it just wasn't there. Hybrids and Amon were a dull alternative.

I called Starcraft 2 dying when LOTV was released. It took everything fun about Starcraft and destroyed it. Did you outplay your opponent and manage to max out on Thors or BCs while winning many micro battles? Too bad, they built 6 vipers with infinite energy and pull all of your units into 24 hydras and you lose even though you are maxed and they are at 130 supply. It's really not so much that the game isn't balanced at the highest level as it is that they destroyed the game for all levels below top Grandmaster. Yes, I can play the meta style and practice it, but then the game is a literal job, no longer a game. This is why it is completely **** will run into the same 15 players on every single server, the game is essentially dead. You're better off playing Starcraft 1, where at least you might have a fun 2 minute long fight and skirmish fest before winning or losing. The battles in SC2 are too fast and boring. The game died thanks to 'yes-men' streamers and content creators.

Best opening cinematic ever. The story is very compelling and inmersive. It's got great character development and a cool new kind of villain and ally

Story is good and epic, but sometimes a bit childish. The dialogues are the same and sometimes they speak too much. There are many great cinematics that support the story well.
Graphics is nice and the gameplay is very good. The Spear of Adun and his many abilities and the customization of units are a very good idea.

Before Blizzard went full diversity. SC2 has it all. A fast action packed gameplay, great complexity and unit variety, responsive controls and custom maps, coop as well as good MMR system.

Easily one of the top 50 games of all time, SC2 has been the go-to realtime strategy game for over a decade and for good reason.

I've been waiting for a developer to reinvent the RTS genre like "Supreme Commander" did back in the day. Starcraft 2 is not that game. It's finely crafted, and well-tuned, but doesn't bring anything new to the table, other than some mild RPG elements. I found LoTV less interesting than HoTS. There were fewer choices you could make with your hero, and the story and characters were cheesy. The storyline reads like amateur fan fiction filled with pompous speeches and mawkish melodrama, but it's hard to hold that against the game because that's what Starcraft storylines have always been. I recall liking Blizzard cutscenes at one point, but I now find myself falling asleep through the choreographed action sequences. I'm not sure if the games have changed or I have.

It's a shame they didn't take the script as seriously as they did the technical part. I played both parts already 10 times. The first part was much more serious and more mature, I would call it category R, and the second part is PG-13. It feels like the story of the first part is not ideal, but it was written by people with a level of knowledge comparable to university students .. It would seem that we have grown, they have too... Many naive works of art from our childhood grew up with us and began to acquire adult materialistic features or even rethought, without ceasing to be themselves, without losing the spirit of the original source. But not StarCraft. He not only remained in the same place, but also took a step back. Feels like the second part was written by schoolchildren. The game itself became brighter, the feeling of stuffiness disappeared, a large amount of children's humor appeared. An evil villain who is evil because he is evil, Prophecies, chosen ones, cosmic magic, abstract gods devouring worlds to which it is difficult to experience any kind of emotion, just as a person is not able to feel the distance in light years (since our biology was formed in conditions where this was not necessary), pink queen of blades, with a healthy complexion, neat eyebrows, hair styling and lip gloss with stilettos from a modeling agency called "swarm" ... if stilettos are her evolutionary advantage, then what does the world in which she exist look like? The world of strip clubs? Queen of our ... "blades". She is no longer a ruthless sociopath and manipulator, but a campy hysterical model from high society in Zerg. The first part is materialism, realism, and the second part is idealism and romanticism / classicism. The first SC is Terminator 1, 2, Alien 1, 2, Bladerunner and SC2 is Terminator 3, 5. This was the first time the game hurt me, the second time was BL3. In the opening videos Wol, Hots, LotV there is the spirit of the first part of the game, but in the game itself and in the rest of the videos, everything is much and much worse. And it's not the high cost of the videos, watch the SC: BroodWar videos. They are outdated, but they have a sense of danger, war, impending threat. The videos in the second part seem to be made by Hollywood. Secondary techniques, only proven methods. They seemed to come off the assembly line, as a result of the work of a raw neural network, and not of people.

The single player campaign is very good, lots of variety and how a mission is done. Blizzard is the grandmaster when it comes to how to make single player RTS seem fresh and unique even though it is a RTS. Cinematics is top rate on their cut-scenes as well.

In my personal experience, surviving in the MOBAs era has been a tough challenge for RTS games as a whole, as most MOBA games take away or heavily modified the 'Resource Management' and narrow the number of units to control to around one for the game to be more approachable on a wider range of players from different skill level. To be fair, RTS games usually feel overwhelming at first and require a good amount of dedication - both actively learning and playing if you want to play them competitively. In conclusion, if you have a passion for RTS games as a whole, SC2 is a highly recommended choice for your leisure time. Overall, in my point of view, it is incredible to know that SC2, and its competitive scenes have been standing strong through the test of time. I have high hopes that SC2 will still be enjoyable by the coming generations for its core concept of RTS.

I loved the original Starcraft and Brood war. And while Starcraft 2 is still good gameplay-wise and character-wise, the story is much worse. It feels like they wanted to get rid of the series. Wrap it all up and be done with it. Pretty stale and straight-forward, uninspired. No more twists, betrayals and interesting political situations, like the original story had. The whole Xel'naga and Duran story-line mystery especially has basically been straight up thrown away. That said, with Legacy of the Void they at least tried to make a good story with the new faction showing up and more. This is the only part of Starcraft II with a decent story. Gameplay: 10 Characters: 8 Story: 7

It is the culmination of Starcraft II. It's hard to master. The multiplayer is polished. The campaign still gives you a good progression with enjoyable missions but unfortunately, it also continues the disappointing story. The ever-shifting balance between the 3 races was the great thing about Starcraft and Broodwar. That is completely lost in SC:II, and the overall direction of the campaign feels just lazy in comparison. Still... at the end of the epilogue, once I realised this was the end of a story that started more than 15 years before, I felt a great void and sadness that there would be nothing after, like never in a video game (the last achievement is aptly named "end of an era", if you have any doubt). Luckily it continues with the multiplayer, and the new co-op modes are a lot of fun. If you're interested in RTS, the whole SC II remains the reference and despite the disappointing story, it is great value.

Replaying Legacy of the Void made me realize this game is not as good as Wings of Liberty or Heart of the Swarm. Artanis is a cookie cutter hero and not as interesting as Raynor or Kerrigan. There should have been 3 missions on each planet instead of just 2. Heart of the Swarm got this right. Not including upgrades in favor of just choosing units was a bad choice. Finally, removing the cast system and calling ALL Protoss Templars just made me facepalm. What an awful decision to remove the cast system.

For some reason LoV is worst of 3 for me. Missions not that interesting as in WoL and HoS. But anyway great conclusion to the trilogy + not that much good rts cooming lately.

9/10 Final 3/3 part **** game. Loved the ending of the story! Also My fav faction are the protoss :P, My initial and over time rating might not have been this, but currently as I am still playing some custom Direct Strike, I have to admit, that not everything falls with blizzard practices nowdays... It's realy hard describe the game, because now its considered to have outdated graphics, etc. BUT as I have played the **** Starcarft and Broodwar expansion, I was thrilled to find out what happens in the story, and overall I think this is one of the best RTS games out there... I mean when I was a kid I played Age of Empires 2 as well, and that's even MORE outdated...also I'm not playing that anymore, but I do play Starcraft 2. So that might tell something... Conclusion: You just have to trust me and the others, when we say play this game! Also recommend to play the **** one as well. KARMA. After I wrote this, in came 5.0.0. Looks very promising, and it might go 10/10 because of it...

For the first time for StarCraft series, I have to admit that story is actually bad. Flat "evil being", which function is pop-up and say smth presumably epic & scary, but in fact trivial & boring. Gameplay is good as always, and campaing is long enough to be enjoyable. Cinematic are great once again. Also Blizzard removed possibility to buy this product by itself, instead if you have WoL & HoTS, but don't have LoV - you have to buy all three games, paying twice. Really sad and strange decision.

This trilogy have become a very big breath of very fresh air in the strategy genre. I would say that for me it is the best real-time strategy about battles. The continuation of the cult story of the first game, made in a new, very beautiful and stylish graphics. All movements, animations, sounds and music are made at the highest level as Blizzard only can do. The plot and cut-scenes of the game make you constantly watch and delve into, like a some good movie or book. Such a strategy seems to be for the most part in a single structure (battles on a limited area in the form of a map), but many levels in this game are something unique with their own ideas. And the rest, what are just battles with the bases, are still made so, that they are never boring, and you do not think that they are similar. In this game, absolutely everything is perfect. And I would give that third part rating 11 if I could, because I like Prottos race, and I was very pleased with the implementation of their culture and technology in that game. Grate power in beautiful architecture.

Starcraft is a good game, but there are some thing what is very bad. The marines can destroy the airships.. and they speed sometimes faster then vehicles... There are no any options for formations. And the faster units go faster to the destination point and not wait the slow others. But the game other things is okay. Graphics: good Sounds: good, but the first StarCraft has better sounds Music: good, but still StarCraft I has better music creations Performance: medium, because of single thread support Control: good Gaming experience: good

this game is a must buy to any Sci-Fi fan. great characters. the story is interesting and they totally nailed the Spear of Adun upgrade system, the ship feels "Alien", really cool design. alot of high quality cutscenes with a satisfying ending Pros: + Gameplay is Great and the Protoss units are the most varied with 3 option to choose from + Satisfying Ending to the franchise. + top notch voice acting and cinematics. + the Protoss Campaign feels vastly different from the other 2. Cons : - some Missions are copied from WoL (Design)

its just not fun. the matchmaking is horrible. you either easily win or you lose 10 games straight. poorly done and not fun at all. also the story is weak, graphics are dated, load times are long, and matchmaking takes 5-10min to find a 3v3.

A lot more cutscenes compared to other titles, very epic enactment. The music is as thrilling and outstanding as ever, maybe even better. But sadly the campaign mode is not. The plot is very predictable and not as breathtaking as the previous ones. Furthermore the gameplay is the same, it is not like HotS where you take Kerrigan and upgrade her abilities, but in this game upgrade the Spear of Adun (arkship) and use it on the battlefield whenever needed. All other features and gameplay are basically the same. All in all a decent, not more not less.

It started with Wings Of Liberty, then Heart Of The Swarm - and to finish it all, we get Legacy Of The Void. As a long time, true fan - I've waited to play this game - to ensure that I could immence myself back into the Kprulu sector - the universe where three different races fight in an epic space opera that started more than 20 years ago now. How to explain the last saga in this 3 tier epic behemoth **** that shows true devotion to fans and quaiity. It's a feast! The are many - MANY new things to multiplayer, so I will focus alone on the singleplayer campaign. From the get-go you get an emotional introduction to Aiur and the lost protoss homeworld. Powerful strong and beautiful as ever by Blizzard. The music here is out of this world - this is perhaps the best game soundtrack I've ever heard ! Singleplayer gives us more of the same, but also new additions. The management part is done as witht the previous installments, but still it seems fresh. The graphics engine has been updated - and never has the Kprulu sector showed itself more beautiful and diverse as ever. The story is excellent, a ton of drama and heartfelt moments that will stay with me forever... The ending perfect and bittersweet for a long time fan.. I can't give this game praise enough... If you don't know why this game, to many people is the best ever made - it is time ! My life for Aiur !

really crappy matchmaking, with a major letdown campaign. Game will match you with ok guys, then randomly give you the worst teammates leagues below you. Platinum tier 1 matched with bronze and gold league teammates with platinum opposing team. What a joke
