The Sims 47
Jun 26, 2023
A fun, virtual life simulation game. It improves upon previous Sims games. The pricing is up for debate, but for the purposes of this review, I did not take pricing into account.

Sid Meier's Civilization VI5
Jun 26, 2023
An enjoyable turn based strategy game. This game lacks depth, and plays like a board game.

Super Mario Galaxy1

Slow and clumsy. The text scroll is painfully slow. The small worlds are dizzying, and not in a good way.

A forgettable game that mainly was played due to the impressive graphics for the time period.

The original 3d platform game. A timeless masterpiece. This is among the greatest games ever made.

GoldenEye 00710
Jun 26, 2023
This is the most important FPS in console gaming history. An absolute masterpiece and the original console FPS. Every console FPS you play today has its origins in this game.
Nintendo 64

Halo: Combat Evolved0
Jun 26, 2023
This is the most overrated FPS of all time. It wasn't good then, and it isn't good now. It didn't significantly innovate either. The true startingpoint of console FPS games was Goldeneye, with Timesplitters bringing console FPS to near-modern standards. The added polish provided by Halo does not justify the hype.

Grand Theft Auto III10
Jun 26, 2023
Building upon the openness of Driver 2, this game redefined what an openworld game could be. This game is one of the most important games in history. I can't call it a masterpiece because it is heavily flawed, but for importance to gaming alone, this deserves a 10/10.
PlayStation 2

No Man's Sky8
Jun 26, 2023
A flawed game with great potential. The great sense of exploration is hampered by a lack of content - both in objects, animals, plants, and other humanoids. That said, the sheer ambition of the game is impressive, and although it falls short in nany ways, it is hard to find another space exploration settlement building game that is on this level.

Cyberpunk 207710

A masterpiece. Despite its flaws, this game delivers a lasting experience and is a must-play for anyone who can meet the hardware requirements. The atmosphere and exploration are unmatched by any other modern game.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord8

This game takes its predecessor and brings improved graphics and some QOL fixes, but sacrafices some depth. That said, there is no better large scale strategy RPG today.

Fallout 49
Jun 26, 2023
This game brings the core elements from New Vegas and Fallout 3, but it takes the game in a completely new direction with the addition of the settlement building system. The mods alongside the settlement system result this game being the best overall Fallout game of the series.

The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind6
Jun 26, 2023
A true role playing game, but with clunky mechanics. This game has intense depth and immense replayability. It is hurt by its age, with graphics really not holding up to modern standards, even with mods. Of course I have to mention "Miss, miss, miss!" - however, this aside, Morrowind was best RPG of its time period and laid the groundwork for a new era of RPGs. On launch, this was a 10/10 game.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion10
Jun 26, 2023
A masterpiece. This game changed not only the genre, but the entire industry. Building upon morrowind, they managed to retain the depth while taking away mechanics that reduced immersion. This game has high replayability, intense depth, and each playthrough and character can be completely different. This is a game which can be played for hundreds of hours without even doing the main story. The only thing keeping this game back in the modern era are graphics, but when this game launched the graphics were stunning.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim4
Jun 26, 2023
A massively overrated game that took away all sense of roleplaying from its predecessor only to be replaced with generic dragonborn sword swinging spellslinger. No replayability, no role playing to be had. Oversimplified gameplay and mechanics, for example the removal of custom spells. Saved only by the mods from the community, this game would be a complete pass otherwise.

Fallout 36
Jun 26, 2023
When released, this game was truly impressive. It built upon the masterpiece Oblivion, and it brought some impressive new elements of gameplay. Immensely fun to explore, and great atmosphere. It has been overshadowed by more modern games, but it was easily a 9.5/10 when it was released.

Fallout: New Vegas6
Jun 26, 2023
A truly great game by Obsidian, which was taken im a different direction than Fallout 3. It brings more options for factions, which was a refreshing change. However, while it brings enhanced gameplay, the exploration and atmosphere don't quite match that of Fallout 3.

The Elder Scrolls Online0

A mediocre MMORPG that wasn't even as good as SWTOR or TERA (lol). A complete failure by Bethesda to compete in the MMORPG genre.

Fallout 760
Jun 26, 2023
A complete wasteland of wasted potential. Elder Scrolls Online was a major failure, and it seemed like it would be Bethesda's greatest failure. However this game managed to take that title. Not only is this the worst game Bethesda has ever made, it is the biggest letdown in over a decade as Bethesda fell from great heights to this pathetic mess ****.

Ultimate Chicken Horse7
Jun 26, 2023
This is the best party game of the current era. It triumphs over others in sheer creativity. It can become refreshingly challenging and has good variety. It does however suffer from a lack of content, and online play is very laggy.

Deceptively good. What appears at first as a low effort strategy game, is actually a surprisingly deep game of strategy and settlement building. This game manages to reimagine the genre.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey3

This is a fun, challenging game that lacks a clear sense of direction. That said, there are many bugs and implementation failures. A great idea with a lot of potential that is sadly lacking in execution.

Diablo III4
Jun 26, 2023
This is a good, enjoyable game, but with flaws. They got a lot right - the music, the endgame content, the replayability of the procedurally generated content, and the depth. However, it lacks character customisation and lacks the depth of D2.
PC

Diablo IV0
Jun 26, 2023
Good story, decent character customization. All of this is completely overshadowed by the lack of procedurally generated content and the intrusive level scaling. May as well remove levels from the game. This is a copy of the PC version but with worse controls. Overall I honestly think this is just a cash grab.
PlayStation 5

Diablo IV2
Jun 26, 2023
Good story, but thats it. The level scaling and lack of procedurally generated content is a massive step back from previous games. This is easily the worst ARPG released in over a decade.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate6
Jun 26, 2023
One of the better fighting games, but it doesn't hold the same appeal or innovation as Melee and Smash Bros 64. A solid fighting game for the current era, but it will be forgotten as soon as the next one is released.
Nintendo Switch
Jun 26, 2023
Minecraft10
Jun 26, 2023
The best game ever made, bar none. Nothing can touch the replayability, expansiveness, and creativity that this game brings. Even without mods, this would be a contender for the #1 spot, but the mods bring it over the edge.
