Where it all started. I remember playing it as a kid, and it made me fall with the franchise. The gameplay is a bit stiff, but for a game released 30 years ago, it was truly revolutionary.

Just 100% the game, took me 5 playthroughs of the game and in neither of the play throughs did it feel like a drag like previous resident evil games. The game play is just amazing either with grace or Leon both game plays feel so different and refreshing even after my 4th play through. Story was amazing thrilling and captivating full with truns and surprises. Can't wait for a DLC for this one

We are so back baby. The residents are eviling. This is truly a return to roots for the series and I am so happy to see it.

This is exactly the kind of revolutionary title that we applaud. Sure, others like it will come along, some will even surpass it, but hats off to Resident Evil for getting there first.

Long the lord of Street Fighter, Capcom's clearly taking a new tack with this killer game, and the results are outstanding. Resident Evil stands tall as a topnotch second-generation PlayStation game that's well worth the green.

My personal favorite is RE1, I will never get that first feeling back of the genius suspense and horror. The first zombie scene in my friends basement in the pitch black sticks with me for life.

One of the most important aspects to Resident Evil is the music and sound effects – both of which are nothing short of captivating and involving. The horror sounds and shills of zombies and hounds will keep the hair on the back of your neck full staff and your butt on the edge of your seat.

Never has a game combined excellent graphics with heart-stopping action and a great story in such a way as to create an almost cinematic adventure... A masterpiece.

The (thankfully) isolated cinematic sequences showing the interactions of the S.T.A.R.S. team members... are filled to the vomit-line with some of the most hokey, badly-translated, drama-killing, god-awful voice acting ever burned onto a disc. Oh well.
