Razion EX is another high-quality shoot-em-up in the Switch’s library, with a distinct flavor all of its own. While it’s not the most fully-featured of releases, it has all of the important options and modes you would want in a game like this. The different difficulty modes are well-balanced, and whether you’re going for score or survival there is a good time to be had here. Shoot-em-up fans of all sorts will find things to appreciate in this game.

I love my shmups and NG Dev does there game's right. They go for that highly detailed, Neo Geo sprites look and this game doesn't disappoint. The soundtrack is my favorite of all there releases so far. Very approachable on easy for beginners and there's no complicated mechanics to learn.

Just a 10. Every piece of this game is good or superior. The first thing you'll notice is the impossibly detailed pixel animation unrivaled by any game. It's so buttery smooth it makes the sprites have a dream like quality. Then you'll notice how absolutely banging the soundtrack is. I would legitimately put the composer up there with Jeremy Soule or David Wise. Some levels are fast paced, others tranquil, and then the boss music hits, and every hair on your body raises. This is as close to perfect as a shmup gets. The gameplay is solid, learning how the cubes work, when to use your power shot defensively, there is depth to the gameplay. Great enemy variety, screen gets crowded, but bullets are very bright and easy to see. This is the shmup I recommend to people trying to get into shmups.

Wasn't sure about this, but solid shooter, with high production values. Only really bought it because i liked GunLord X so much, and NG Dev are definitely a great studio. Music is amazing, and the challenge very well calibrated. getting 1CC clear on 'normal' difficulty is a solid but fair challenge. Highly recommended for horizontal shooter fans

I first bought this game physical, and then when it was announced digitally, I bought it again, to keep my physical copy sealed. While I like all things shmup, I have always preferred the horisontal scrollers - yet it has been over 15 years ( yes, Gradius V, I am looking at you, and come to Switch now, will you! ), since I have stumbled upon such a perfect example of the sub-genre. Incredibly gritty visuals, tight controls, solid performance, impactful shooting, deep scoring mechanics, over the top bosses and mid-bosses, fair but tough difficulty and an absolutely amazing ambient soundtrack and I could go on. Pulstar and Blazing Star have finally got the spiritual successor they deserve, and even a superior one at that. So no, it is not a 9, it is a 10.
SummaryRAZION EX is a horizontal shooting game originally made for NEO·GEO, ported and upgraded to Nintendo Switch. The score system is based on growing gold cubes and using the beam. It has 3 game modes (NOVICE/NORMAL/MANIAC). Novice mode is significantly easier and will allow more people to enjoy the great graphics and music.
