In a straight line the SLR feels like it has warp engines, and the feeling of real power is unlike anything I've seen in a racing game before. Burnout 3 and Need for Speed do a good job of scaring you with speed, but GT4 is still the only car sim to date that's done a convincing job of putting you behind a 5.4 liter V8.

Gran Turismo 4 is one of the best games in the franchise. Gran Turismo 4 is a racing game that focuses more on a realistic gameplay than an arcade gameplay in a racing game. Gran Turismo 4 has a gameplay that looks simple, but it's one of the hardest racing games on the PlayStation 2, specially with manual transmission. The game has rough courses with challenging gameplay, and the realism of the game makes you need to learn more about tuning your cars, drifting and driving. the 24 Hour courses like Nürburgring are very challenging and really take close to 24 Hours. It's great also in it's nice graphics, that really impress for a sixth generation console. The reflections are realistic, the courses, the trees and even the cars have a shocking amount of detail for a game of an 2000's console. It's not perfect because of an lack of an more arcade-like gameplay, but it's more of a driving simulator, so that's not that bad. Also, it's weaker soundtrack compared to other racing games, but there are very nice songs that brings you back to the type of music that was very popular during the 2000's. But this doesn't impact heavily on the games rating, so it deserves a nice and beautiful 9/10.

Worse than GT3. The most overrated driving game ever. Stiff chase cam, unpredictable handling due to a change in physics/suspension, UNDERSTEER galore. GT3 was an enjoyable driving game with predictable, snappy car behavior, this one is not. Play GT3 instead of this disappointment.

Still to this day the best racing game ever made. The physics still hold up to this day, as well as the car list. So much to do in the game it would take hundreds of hours to do everything.

GT4 Honestly is one of the best racing Games/Sims out there. Spec B for when I am to ****ed to play for myself and enough Skylines and Supras to keep the most amped of 12 year old's playing. Wish I could get a 98 Civic in anything other than hatchback? In 2026 though I would suggest the Spec II Mod but there is also another overhaul in the works called Re-Tuned so BOL for that looks goooooooooooooood Also this is infact the GOAT Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The basic “buy, race, upgrade, race, buy, and repeat” routine is still there. There is no damage, no online, and the soundtrack is questionable. However, everything else so close to perfect, it’s hard to resent these shortcomings.

Yes, there are tweaks, better graphics and further development on the cars’ physics, but nothing groundbreaking. For the most part it seems that the past four years have been spent improving the playback of your car whizzing around the track once you’ve finished the race.

One of the best racing games of all time, it has a lot of cars to drive, it has tons of tracks there, a lot of events to make, good AI, fun challenges, everything in this game is just amazing, MUCH BETTER THAN GT3 also (and i love GT3)

More or Less, more or less, I didn't like the campaign mode, I just liked playing with my brother, and the amount of cars it has should have a code to release them all at once! There are people who don't have patience and I am one

OVERALL - 75% Gameplay - 8/10 Graphics (for time) - 8/10 Story - 3/10 Game Length - 7/10 Characters - 3/10 Level/Area Design - 9/10 Atmosphere - 7/10 Sound Effects - 10/10 Soundtrack - 7/10 Replay Value - 8/10 Being terrible at driving games I initially liked this because it felt easier than previous instalments thanks the the B-Spec mode, but after a while and being able to afford expensive cars sooner the game gave me less satisfaction. Still technically and graphically proficient though and was enjoyable.
