Just beat this game today and it was incredible. I really like the variety of things to do throughout the whole world in the game. I love the music in the game. The direction and graphics were on point and I enjoyed my time. i still think I like Tsushima a bit more just because of its story but overall this is a better game than its predecessor, it was awesome!

I played to this game after I finished AC shadow several months before and I can say this one is better in practically every aspect (except infiltration which doesn't really matter).
The gameplay and atmospheres are great and the 100% was a pleasure to make when we can compare with other openworlds which have useless and uninteresting missions

Ghost of Yotei was good, but just that. It didn't live up to the emotional heights of Tsushima and I felt it was a bit flat a times. Atsu is a good enough character, but I found the side characters a little underbaked. Saito was disappointing in my opinion. The Oni was a better villain than Saito. I didn't really like the entire revenge quest turns to finding something to live for trope, but it could've been worse. I had fun with the world and gameplay. Overall it was good, but just not very exciting imo.

Ghost of yotei in my opinion is a huge letdown compared to the first game. Jin Sakai in ghost of Tashima basically becomes the first ninja and instead of **** punch following that up they instead choose to go down a path that is unrealistic and just plain outlandish. The overall story is terrible The combat isn’t as good as it’s predecessor. Trading stances for weapon swapping was a terrible idea and made the combat less engaging. I guess this is what happens when you let woke developers make games.

It's hard to know where exactly to rate this game, but thinking about it overall it's hard to describe it as anything other than a huge disappointment when you look at it's predecessor. Overall where this game lets you down is the main story, the main character and the constant in your face messaging from the game. Just to give you an overall view comparing this game to what came before GoT starts with you riding into a huge battle with your fellow Samurai and GoY starts with you struggling to kill a drunk old man. Pros: Basically everything this game borrows from Ghost of Tsushima. I thought at first maybe the game deserves a higher score because of the production quality and what it borrows from the game it's built on, but GoT does almost everything better and honestly you're better off just playing that game. The game does look amazing though and the combat is as fun as the previous game generally. The new weapons don't add a lot they are kind of cool, but the way the game locks you to using them for certain situations isn't great. GoT did something similar with stances, but I though that worked better than ridiculously switching weapons based on what your opponents have. The game adds bounties and wolf dens which are kind of fun side quests. Some bounties are interesting add a bit to the game. The main missions also have some "wow" moments though still another thing the previous game did better. Cons: The costume designs are unfortunately much worse than the previous game. The legends multiplayer mode is also nowhere near as good in this game with weaker rewards. The story is a mediocre revenge plot. Some of the characters you go after are interesting have their own quirks. Atsu is very annoying. She constantly thinks she's smarter than everyone even when she's wrong and rarely learns from her mistakes. The way the game has to remind you women are capable and men are bad over and over just knocks you out of the game. There are so many eye rolling moments in the game and it makes you feel like you're playing something more interested in social engineering than entertaining. The game also becomes predictable, because if a character is female they will be good and if they're male they will be bad or at least shown to be less capable. The game is open about it's misandry. As usual to when you point out this obvious fact people will claim you hate women, but I've played plenty of games with female characters and they didn't need to bash you over the head with messaging to be good characters. In the end the game had some good moments and it's built on a very strong foundation, but the direction they decided to go with the characters and story which is such a large part of the game it's hard not to feel completely let down by this game.

The game is unbearable. While technically sound, the characters are lame and every mission includes obligatory dialogue that is boring while you ride the horse. Then you do something boring and repeat.

I was general excited to play this after Tsushima but quickly that excitement faded. The graphics are absolutely stunning, each major cut scene is honestly breathtaking, and I enjoyed that aspect of the development. The story however, started out with some promise but as you progress, the story gets generic and feels likes I have to complete several menial tasks to get to an enjoyable mission. The additional weapons are more of a distraction and I feel, take away from the game. And the rifles and pistols were not necessary, and the aiming mechanics were clunky. I did enjoy the open world and there is a lot of good things in the game, but when I got to the ending, the story just fell apart. It just felt like the goal was to make a multi-generational "girls' team" by the way they ended it. And I would be fine with that if it was written better. It felt like they forgot there was a main male protagonist left and had to kill him quick. I believe the term "hat on a Hat" was a reoccurring theme in the game. And I can forgive all those issues and chalk them to up to creative decisions by the team, but I can't forgive the decisions made on Saito and Takezo. Before I give my take, understand where I'm coming from, I work 10-12 hours a day and play usually from 10-midnight after my kids have gone to bed. And if I play a game, I like to 100% it, I get a great sense of accomplishment in those small victories. With that being said, I'm not sure who in the development team was like, "hey, you know how we have like difficulty setting? yeah, let's ignore that and make the last 2 opponents so overpowered that the players get so frustrated they quit playing. How funny would that be to have them use 2-3 unblockable attacks in a row" Seriously bro, what are we doing, how is that fun having to restart a fight 20 times or having to drop the difficulty setting to get through. For me the game is an escape, a place where I can relax and not think. The ending destroyed this game for me.

Game is ok, but not much progress since Tsushima. Sometimes unbalanced fights, main character a bit naive in her decisions and some repetitive open world activities. However, still enjoyed playing and completed 100%. Visually beautiful and every map area has something unique.

I absolutely love this game, the narrative is so great and the combat is amazing as well. I really enjoyed GOT, but I enjoyed this even more. The graphics are so great and the new combat mechanics make the game so good. I would recommend this to anyone into rpg story games.

Honestly, Ghost of Yōtei feels like a massive step backward. It trades the soul and refined focus of Ghost of Tsushima for a bloated, repetitive open world that lacks the same sense of wonder. The combat, while flashy, feels like a hollow retread, and the narrative simply doesn’t capture the emotional weight of Jin Sakai’s journey. It’s a beautiful-looking game, sure, but under the hood, Tsushima was miles ahead in terms of pacing, atmosphere, and sheer joy to play. This is a classic case of 'more of the same' but with less heart.

It's a good game until the main character opens her mouth. Not only is the character a selfish **** who hates everything and everyone, but her voice actress is also horribly incompetent. I haven't heard such a bad protagonist voice acting since the 2000s. I enjoyed exploring, fighting, and engaging in open-world activities, but the story is poorly written, and the dreadful protagonist ruins it even more. Considering that the main story took up 50% of the game's running time, I give this game a 50% of the possible maximum score: 5 out of 10.

Pros - fun combat system - story missions are open to be tackled in any order - different regions grant you different gear, incentivizing what to do first - the game looks gorgeous // Cons - the main story is way weaker than Tsushima // Ghost of Yōtei is a typical playstation sequel. Better gameplay, weaker story. I really enjoyed what this game did with its world and combat. Instead of sword stances you get five different melee weapons. In a rock/paper/scissor way they are each effective against specific opponents making constant switching a core gameplay feature. At the same time, the quickfire weapons like kunai and pocket sand provide powerful tools to deal with large encounters. Where this game really improves is its world. Completely open, this game is segmented into five different areas, each providing unique weapons and tools. Four of these areas are open as soon as you are able to explore. This allows you to make choices as to what story and equipment you want to pursue. Want spears, bombs and tools to set your weapons ablaze? Go after the Oni. Want stealth tools, kunai and the kusarigama? Go after the Kitsune. There is one aspect where this game is weaker and that is its story. It is by no means bad, just by the numbers. A revenge story. Nothing you haven't seen before. The main villain also has absolutely no presence, no aura. Khotun Khan was menacing and intelligent. Saito is just kinda there, and interacts primarily with his sons, who are both not menacing and not interesting. I like Ghost of Yōtei and can recommend it wholeheartedly. Fun game and quite a fun platinum.

HOT TAKE - I thought the story was just as good, if not better, than the first one. The story is often compared to the first one, but it was nice to have a less grand scale. The weight of an empire on you is heavy, and the fact that the first game was based on a historical event is very interesting, but they did a good job of placing that same weight of her family on Atsu. I felt much closer to the character and understood her more than Jin. Jin was like Superman, too polished of a character, and Atsu was like Batman, gritty, flawed, complex, had emotions, and did what had to be done. Maybe the most beautiful game I've ever played. Those scenes stick with you. My only two critiques: 1 - the open world limitations compared to the first one were more noticeable, even in the areas you had access to. If there was a rock, you might not be able to climb on it, whereas Jin would be able to. 2 - The dialogue & english voice acting were underwhelming. I just kept it in Japanese with subtitles on. Fantastic game and would absolutely play again.

Visually a beautiful game. Major downside is the repetitive game play. I enjoyed how the first games mechanics carried over to this game, but it didn’t feel like this iteration brought anything too cool to the table

this game generally falls in the ball park of the first one it does not do industry defining things and tbh the story is kinda predictable this game has many pluses like its world design and exploration, its combat and its gameplay diversity being better than ghost of tsushima while ghost of tsushima falls a bit short in those especially in its world exploration design being more ubisoft like the story concept is more interesting in tsushima its more compelling and less predictable ghost of yotei is upheld by its gameplay combat and world exploration making it fall right with tsushima in terms of over all rating i highly recommend both games.

Not a bad story, but a very generic revenge to peace story arc, which we have seen a 100 times, combat and mechanics great but very similar to Tsushima. Insanely pretty world and graphics. Cinematogrophy was great. Way too many gadgets and weapons. i just end up using the same ones.

I played the game on PS5.I loved the first game despite all of its flaws. Even though parts of it were cheesy and occasionally cringe-worthy, the gameplay and the overall experience were spectacular. With this new title, however, I'm mostly confused.Years after the release of the first game, you would expect the sequel to improve on what came before. In my opinion, it does the opposite.Plot:The story feels generic and is rarely interesting. The in-game dialogue is often poor—sometimes really, really poor. I can't understand why the game pushes you to kill the first member of the Six almost immediately while simultaneously making that goal the core motivation of the entire **** main character doesn't bring much to the table, and it's difficult to relate to her. Even though she's supposed to be a broken person, she often behaves in ways that feel inconsistent with her **** main villain is simply evil for the sake of being evil. There is very little depth to him. The secondary conflict doesn't add much either.Even if the first game wasn't brilliantly written, you could still connect with the story of a broken samurai who lost his way while trying to protect his people. His transformation into the Ghost was the heart of the game. Here, you start as a Ghost-like character from the very beginning, and there is no meaningful character journey. It feels like you gain nothing from playing through the story.Graphics:Honestly, not very impressive on several levels.Artistic Style:Just like in the first game, the artistic direction is excellent.Gameplay:I'm not entirely sure why, but it feels worse than before. The rock-paper-scissors combat system is still there and worked fine in the original, but somehow it doesn't feel as sharp or satisfying this time around.Overall:It's a good game to play, but not a great one, and certainly not a memorable one. The asking price was, in my opinion, hard to justify.

Ghost of Yōtei é um desses raros casos. A exploração merece elogios igualmente entusiasmados. Ghost of Yōtei segue o caminho oposto. A exploração é orgânica, natural e recompensadora. Outro aspecto impressionante é a trilha sonora.

such a fumble. this game is miles behind Ghost of Tsushima, the main character is boring and lacking any sort of personality, gameplay is rough, this is one of those instances where they should've kept following Jin, and it's stupid that they didn't, he still had more story to go, at the end of the game it looked like he was planning on going to the mainland to fight the enemy, but instead we got whatever this slop is.

Generally a downgrade from its predecessor. The combat feels unpolished, the platforming is awful, and the story and main character are bland. New weapons serve more as an annoyance than a welcome upgrade, and combat targeting and AI is terrible. Combined with the deluge of collectables and random encounters, the game feels bloated and I can't wait to finish it.

I loved everything about this game, from the breathtaking visuals to the engaging, action packed combat and fun story. Every weapon plays differently and they were all fun to use. The difficulty felt just right for me, challenging but not incredibly punishing except for optional challenges. Felt like I was rewarded for learning all the game mechanics and there wasn’t one single strategy that felt overpowered.

A perfect follow up entry to Ghost of Tsushima. Although it didn't really reinvent or deviate too much from what made Tsushima successful, it really didn't need to. All I wanted was more of that same feel, atmosphere and combat the first game gave and it delivered. Combat is further expanded, exploration is as good and as rewarding as the first game. The visuals are drop dead gorgeous and the soundtrack just immerses you in the world. I had such a hard time trying to stop playing so I could go to bed, there was always one more side objective I wanted to do or one more spot on the map I wanted to explore. The story was predictable but it was never trying not to be. It delivered a bad ass experience and that's all I really want from my third person open world games. The cinematography is out of this world just like it was in Ghost of Tsushima. 10/10 game and I'm jealous of those who haven't played the first game or this yet because both are must play games with so much to offer.

Ghost of Yotei was an incredible experience and is a perfect example of how to do an open world action adventure RPG. I have a hard time articulating exactly WHY I feel this way, but when I play this game, I am transported into the world that the developers wanted. It's as if you are stepping into a world through your PS5, one that's both real and fictional, some of the landmarks exist, some of the areas may have existed in the past or still exist to this day, but them being real or not isn't the point, they SEEM believable. So much about this game is just perfectly crafted, the music, the side quests and activities, the story, and the graphics. So much felt crafted and thought out, that it feels like a labor of love.

Not very different graphics that the first ghost of tsushima, there are many bugs, and the most annoying is that when you leave it with japanese audio some of the dialogs are still in english and you cannot fix this. Also the controllers for the mega pistol is so strange I even get the chance to shoot with it so much. I wont recommend the game…

How can anyone give this game less than a 10? It has everything — an amazing story, stunning visuals, and tight, satisfying mechanics. It’s so addictive that you almost don’t want to finish it. An absolute masterpiece.
