The intense difficulty is squarely aimed at veteran Fire Emblem players, and its satisfying campaign is full of variety and challenge. And even though a win or loss can down to sheer luck, I walked away either satisfied or eager to give it another shot.

Conquest on the other hand is a more enjoyable from my perspective as a strategy veteran. It's much more complex from the start, and offers bigger maps, more interesting objectives (such as point defense or sieges), and a more intriguing plot.

Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest is another feather in the cap of Nintendo and is another top-notch title on the 3DS. It lives up to its franchises reputation and even if you don’t want to spend the extra money to unlock the entire experience, the individual game without the DLC is worth it.

There’s only one word to describe Fire Emblem Conquest: Amazing. It retakes all the good aspects from Fire Emblem Awakening, its predecessor, and polishes them in some way that puts all of the elements that made this a game great in a new dimension, almost touching perfection. Also its difficulty level is one of the pillars that make this version stand in front of the other. If you’re looking for an incredible adventure with a challenge worth the effort, look no further, here is what you have been waiting for.

Another great addition to the Fire Emblem series, the newest chapter offers amazing visuals, an entirely captivating story and engrossing gameplay. Neither veterans nor newcomers should miss a change for one of the best offerings for the 3DS.

Fire Emblem Fates is excellent, and we enjoyed the Conquest edition a bit more than Birthright. The battles are even deeper and more complex, and the storyline is more original and less predictable.

The campaign is a grueling challenge all the way through, but every time I snatched a win from the jaws of defeat I felt an undeniable surge of satisfaction and pride, one that made my victories that much sweeter. If that sounds fun to you, Conquest is the ideal way to play Fire Emblem Fates. If you want all of the fantastic gameplay with less pressure, don’t feel any shame about sticking to Birthright. You can’t go wrong either way.

FE Fates proves once again its leadership in the genre. This is the game we've enjoyed the most so far, offering a very deep, engaging and challenging adventure that won't let you turn off your 3DS till you've finished playing it.

Fire Emblem: Conquest is billed as the "hardcore" side of Fire Emblem Fates, and it doesn't disappoint with its intricate and challenging maps. On top of that, the core of Fire Emblem's relationship mechanics are strong as ever, and the castle hub is a very nice addition. Even if you opt to ignore Birthright, Conquest is a full-featured and satisfying RPG on its own.

I appreciated the very dark nature of the story. Usually, when playing through games with moral choices I usually choose the options that are “good.” The story is actually pretty hard to swallow in Conquest. The game has no problem killing off good characters, and on multiple occasions I was devastated to see the way that the story would play out.
