El juego esta bien, sobretodo para uno de hace más de 20 años. Arrancando con lo bueno: Puedo decir que graficamente creo que ha envejecido favorablemente, no se me hizo feo. Y a nivel jugable el juego me fue smooth y dinamico. La kinestesia esta bien trabajada, las armas se sienten y suenan muy bien. Y creo que uno de los elementos que más me gustó fue cierta perspectiva realista en varios elementos relacionados al movimiento del personaje. Cuando nadas la camara se mueve de arriba abajo, forzandote a agustarla en todo momento. Cuando estas subido a un Jeep sentis el peso de las subidas y bajadas y te apuntar se vuelve dificil. Cuando algo explota cerca tuyo la camara se mueve para todos lados. Esos elementos de realismo son muy inmersivos y te meten mucho en el juego. Además, el diseño de niveles esta bueno y aporta buena cantidad de variedad. Estan los Tirgents, que tenes que matar sobretodo de lejos y los soldados tiene una IA bastante decente. La verdad que uno de los elemtos que más me sorprendió del juego fue su dificultad, se me hizo muy desafiante e incluso me trabé en varias partes (aunque a veces con un poco de culpa del juego). En la dificultad normal dos tiros pueden hacerte cobrar, y no siempre tienes helthpacks cerca. Tenes que pensar en la cobertura, aprovecharte cuando los enemigos no te ven, usar la visión de calor para encontrarlos antes (elemento que desgraciadamente descubrí muy ****). No te lo podes pasar a lo Rambo y creo que esta bien que así sea. Habiendo dicho todo esto vamos con lo malo. Hay varias cosas que envejecieron mal o que simplemente necesitan pulido. Las escaleras andan como el orto, los enemigos te pueden ver a traves de las tiendas de campaña pero vos a ellos no, falta motivación para usar sigilo porque no hay instakill y lo de tirar piedras para distraer no anda, hay varios checkpoints que te cagan porque si llegaste con muy poca vida entonces la siguiente fase te la hace parir (si bien te restaura un poco de vida esta no es mucha, y recordemos que moris de dos tiros) y, quizas lo que más me jodió, la puta barra de estamina. Eso directamente no debería existir, en algunos juegos como los Souls la estamina tiene sentido porque todo es un ida y vuelta. Pero en un shooter en primera persona no tiene lugar. Sobretodo una que sea tan restrictiva. Se recarga super lento, baja super rapido y la necesitar hasta para saltar. La cantidad de veces que termine un nivel con 0 de estamina y el siguente punto estaba en Narnia y tenía que caminar lentamente hasta él porque no podía correr. No sirve para nada más que para molestar y hacer más lento el juego. El diseño de nieveles esta en un lugar intermedio para mi, tirando a positivo. La verdad que sorprende lo amplios que pueden ser y la variedad de elementos que te presentan para enfrentarse a los enemigos, pero la estrategia optima termina siendo cagarlos a tiros de lejos y esperar a que se acerquen en fila para matarlos. Ir a lo Rambo es divertido, pero funciona solo en los niveles más cerrados. La historia lo mismo, es bastante cliche pero parece hacerse cargo, no conmueve y decepciona. Es. Me llamó un poco la atención igual porque justifica el nombre del juego con unos experimentos rarisimos, y sin embargo no creo que ningún otro juego de la saga haya hecho nada ni remotamente parecido con mutantes y agentes especiales.

Crytek babanın yaptığı, Crysis'a benzer ada konsepti ve canavar konseptiyle çocukken beni büyüleyen, bir oyunda canavar yoksa o oyuna oyun demememi sağlayan oyundur :D (Bir süre için geçerli bu durum tabi). Hikaye olarak klişe ama 2004 yapımı bir bir oyunda şu grafiklerin olması ve ilk oynadığım oyunlar arasında olma hasebiyle manevi olarak çok derin bir yeri vardır bende. 1-2 sene önce tekrar oynayıp bitirdiğimde çocukken bu oyunu nasıl bitirdiğime şaşırdım çünkü normal zorlukta dahi zor bir oyun. Eski deyip de oynamamazlık etmeyin derim. Oyun Ubisoft'a geçince tabi ki Ubisoft Ubisoft'luğunu yapmış ve oyunda bir askeri karakolda bug olmasına sebebiyet vermiş, o bugu internetten araştırarak çözebilirsiniz. Orijinalinde böyle bir sorun yoktu, iyi oyunlar!

Far Cry was a groundbreaking entry that set the tone for the series with its lush tropical setting and open-ended gameplay. Its advanced graphics for the time and smart enemy AI made encounters feel intense and unpredictable. Really fun, but the enemy AI (practically Aimbot) and certain level design flattens the mood a bit. I wish there was a bit more reward for straying off the linear path, and a bit less empty spaces that are only meant for vehicles. I beat this twice, once on the hardest difficulty and it was definitely an experience

My Review – Far Cry – 8/10 I gave Far Cry an 8 out of 10 because it’s a solid and enjoyable first-person shooter with a beautiful tropical setting and fun gameplay. The islands are fun to explore, the weapons are varied, and the freedom to tackle objectives in different ways keeps it engaging. The story is simple, and some mechanics feel a bit outdated now, but the game still delivers plenty of action and memorable moments. This is why Far Cry is an 8/10.

The Far Cry series is one of the best open-world franchises on PlayStation, especially Far Cry 5. I’ve played many of the games in the series, but this one is my favorite and will always remain so.

I recently played Far Cry 1 and I can say that the game is truly impressive, especially considering that it was released back in 2004. The atmosphere of a tropical island is conveyed perfectly, and the sounds of the environment add to the realism.However, there are a few drawbacks. For example, sometimes enemies shoot through cover, even when you are hiding in a tent, and they can see you from a distance, so the stealth mode hardly works. Where do I even start... I was born in 2005, so I really got into gaming when Far Cry 3 came out. I’ve been a fan ever since. Wanting to complete the whole series, I went back and bought the original Far Cry. The ending was amazing—an unexpected twist, an interesting continuation, and a solid storyline. Now, the things I didn’t like: -Movement and world-rendering bugs show up in almost every level. -No cloud saving—I lost all my progress after reinstalling Ubisoft. -Shooting glitches. And honestly, there are plenty more little things about the gameplay that just feel trash. I hope somebody will read this and will not try to play it in the future

The original Far Cry kicked down the doors of the FPS genre in 2004 with ambitious open environments, smart enemy AI, and jaw-dropping visuals for its time. As a starter into the Far Cry series, it was amazing. It does have some flaws, namely the difficulty of some sections and the lackluster final mission and boss fight. The game itself is stealth heavy and really methodical, which I liked, but also wished they would teach you right away. The classic boomer shooter run and gun tactic will always result in certain death unless you know what you're doing. Which is not a bad thing per se, but the lack of healing items and ammo in certain missions and overabundance in some other ones, really strong enemies all crammed up in one room, all while having to methodically take everyone out results in a really slow and unbalanced game experience. It still remains a great one man army shooter game in many things similar to the original Half-Life; but maybe also because of this, the first and last game in the Far Cry series to have this kind of gameplay.

If this game came out nowaday it would've been negative review bombed, mainly because of it's AI, it's really unforgiving even on easy dificulty, I liked this game because of it, every time you die you had to learn where to aproach from, it has a lot of ways to aproach your enemies (vents, different lurking paths) the graphics are insane for 2004 and the bush, tree and ruins models give you the feeling of being in the jungle, the story is superficial but enjoyable, the AI can see and shoot you through the military tents (which is ****), the thermal vision is very useful and helps a lot with invisible enemies, only encountered like 2 bugs, solid game. 6/10

The game itself is not bad at all, quite fun despite his old age. The problem is that without any mods the game has a large amount of bugs, being some of them very problematic, like walls that NPC's see through and can shoot you. In general, this game is extremely difficult and unfair sometimes. Apart from that, stealth in this game is a joke, i played in Challenging difficulty and doesn't matter if you are behind of a bush, they clearly see you and immediately start shooting at you. This game feels like a weird mix of an old Call of Duty with a Half-Life more than other Far cry. And the last thing i want to say is that the game, at least for me, is too long. it took me 9 hours but due too the difficulty of the game you can spend easly 13h if you get stucked somewhere. Also, this game feels quite repetitive, something that doesn't go well with long campaings. Oh, and i had to use a command for custom checkpoints, quite important tho, this game has a few wierd/painfull/fustrating checkpoints

Прошёл первый far cry 2004 года. Ранее я предпринимал попытку его пройти но дропнул посередине, возможно играл на сложном, игра и на нормали трахает нереально. В российском игровом сообществе первый фар край принято считать культовым, практически любой геймер заставший в полной мере 2004 будучи геймером помнит и её и у него скорее всего есть история про то как он мечтал поиграть в far cry без лагов, но не мог. Игра вышла до doom 3, который все ждали как раз чтобы посмотреть на некст ген графику, а тут выходит far cry и там огромные локации, красочный яркий прорывной графон (а не тёмные аналы как в doom 3), стелс, огромная свобода действий, техника и прочее. Даже сейчас очевидно почему игра взорвала всем мозг, там ещё и кинематографичный сюжет был (Зря чтоли Уве Болл потом фильм снял, хех). Могу сказать, что всё это правда и культовой игра стала не зря, и до сих пор юбисофт (немного скрысив авторские права на франшизу) клипает рескины на far cry 3. Однако, игра невероятно кривая, большинство духоты в игре именно по причине её кривизны. Помимо кривизны, ещё много плохого геймдизайна, например, малюсенький запас стамины, герой бегает как пожилой скуф, а не атлет каким он является. Последние уровни гейдизайнил конченый идиот, они невероятно кривые, каждую секунду хочется подойти и въебать разрабу, закричав – “Ты это говно сделал???”. Присутствует босс вертолёт, битва с ним очень кривая. Но всё равно игра очень достойная, вполне себе классика индустрии, каждый уважающий себя ретроман должен пройти, ставлю 7/10, но если бы не кривизна и геймдизайн поставил бы больше.

Um jogo interessante pra sua época, mas agora datado. Eu já tinha jogado uns 75% alguns anos atrás, e não continuei por achar chato e repetitivo. Zerando agora, chego a mesma conclusão. Apesar de ter gráficos impressionates pra época, a sua estória e gameplay pecam bastante. A gameplay é basicamente invadir bases e matar inimigos, mas seus inimigos são super gênios que tem o poder de te ver através da parede. A IA é absurdamente inteligênte, chegando o ponto de ser roubada, te vendo há KM de distância e através da parede. A estória é super jogada, com o jogo começando nos 200kms te jogando em uma cut scene inicial super datada pra hoje. Sem contar os furos de roteiro e as coisas no sense que acontecem. Pra dar algum ponto realmente positivo, o aúdio é bom. De acordo onde o inimigo está, você ouvirá os passos mais de um lado do que do outro. Se vale a compra? Eu realmente acho que não. Você jogará por algumas horas e enjoará rapidamente, se arrependendo de ter comprado. Pra que jogar Far Cry 1, se temos Far Cry 3.

MUST PLAY. Just finished for the first time on August 31, 2024. I must say that this is one of the best games I have ever played, let alone completed. Even though I played on the easiest difficulty called easy, it was not easy! Thank goodness I could use manual saves with ` and typing save_game. No problem loading with esc, but maybe there is key binding for that. Some locations required multiple attempts, even on easy. I can't even imagine how people complete this game on harder difficulties, but maybe I will try it one day; who knows? Now, this game is from 2004, and it stands superbly well after 20 years. Huge kudos to the people who created this game; this is a masterpiece for PC. The storyline and dialogue are pretty funny and charming; I liked it; it was not too dramatic and too long. For this game, it fits well. This game holds up very well graphically. Of course, back in 2004 it was probably not common to run this game on max settings, but in 2024 it shouldn't be a problem for most people, even with 240 fps probably. 2K 240FPS on a 27-inch monitor without any mods or FOV adjustments was fine for me. I like the vanilla experience after many years from the original release. Maybe it is possible to make this game look and run even better, but I was satisfied with what I got, and 240 fps allowed me to finish the game and did not break the engine fatally without letting pass some level like in some other older games. Although I have to admit some movements of AI were strange, I am not sure if it was due to higher fps or some other reason. I wouldn't call this game bugged. 20 levels to play, with open-world elements; some levels are inside the buildings. Length and difficulty are satisfying, as is accompanying music, which makes for a great atmosphere with some horror elements. Overall, it is one of the best games of all time. When we are talking about FPS, I would say it's easily TOP 5 for me; it laid the groundwork, the solid foundation for future games. I can now see how Crytek made Crysis; one can see huge potential from this game. Highly recommended. 10/10. FANTASTIC.

AAAAAAAAAA!!!! This game is by far the hardest FPS I've ever played; NPCs that can use tactics against you, have far above average perception skills, their mutant forms, and the developers' level design is a really bad game that challenges you a lot. Run-and-gun doesn't work.

To fazendo essa análise depois de zerar o game e de ver outras analises, e pelo o que eu vi muitas pessoas também acharam o game repleto de BUGs, infelizmente é um jogo muito datado e não pelos gráficos que para época deveriam ser bem interessantes, mas sim pela mecânica do jogo, as vezes você com a mira em cima do boneco e o tiro passava longe, os inimigos te vendo através da parede, algumas armas sendo bem mais fracas do que deveriam ser (Exemplo: Lança míssil que derrubava alguns Helicópteros e outra hora não), entre outras paradas que você vai ver em outros comentários...Gosto mais de falar sobre a história dos games e ta ai uma coisa que esse aqui ta bem longe de ser boa, a história já começa 200km/h e você fica todo perdido com a correria que é, muita coisa nem faz sentido ou tem nexo, mas você vai empurrando com a barriga, até que chega a hora do grande vilão que meus amigo, que batalha meme! Como eu falei, acredito que o jogo em seu lançamento foi uma grande apresentação para os gamers daquela época, por seus gráficos e algumas variedades na gameplay, como exemplo a hora que você simplesmente voa de asa delta kkkkkk (DO NADA). Então segue as considerações para alguns tópicos - HISTÓRIA: Rasa! JOGABILIDADE: Ok, apesar de ter vários bugs! IA (NPC's): Surreal de inteligentes, te vê a 50km a olho nu! (as vezes até através da parede). GRÁFICOS: Bons para sua época, tirando as cutscene que o áudio era estourado e a imagem ficava em 140p! ÁUDIO: Por incrível que parece ele tem um bom áudio de "proximidade", os inimigos andam a sua direita perto ou longe e você consegue distinguir. TRILHA SONORA: UMA MERD*! Nenhuma música te deixa envolvido ou se quer é boa, fora que quando você está perto de uns rádios espalhados pelo game, fica tocando um batuque muito CHAT0! NOTA: 6.5/10 (Só foi 6.5 por consideração ao seu ano de lançamento) VALE A PENA COMPRAR?: Só se você quiser visitar o inicio da franquia Far Cry, fora isso, CORRA DESSE JOGO! At the time it was the fist game where you could snipe enemies from 500 meters. Guys with consoles could only dream of such a game. Technically incredible and for me easily the best Far Cry.

Before trying out this game, I've literally played five games unsuccessfully—download, play, uninstall. Just like this. So, when a 2004 game could do what some modern games can't (captivate me), you know there's something special here. First of all, Far Cry 1 is surprisingly atmospheric, mostly because of the audio design, though the graphics are pretty cool, even for today. Also, the game can easily run at 144fps, which guarantees you some fluid gameplay, a thing that not most old games can deliver. The story is not a big deal, but it works well as a background to what is happening. Now, what really is good here is the gameplay. It didn't get old like wine as Halo CE, but it still holds today for sure. It is responsive and challenging. Mostly, you can't run and shoot like an average brainless COD campaign. You die a lot on higher difficulties, and you're forced to learn the mechanics, as well as the level design and enemy locations. Feels good when you outplay them. I'm curious about Far Cry 2. It's a shame that, beyond Far Cry 3, we just got the same formula over and over.

This game came with my PC along with AVP but I loved them both. The two things I liked about Far Cry was the map graphics and the introduction of hand gliders. I Stalled at the final boss but played others in the series. I Actually purchased a strategy guide along with number 2 (Fortunes Edition)

The open-world first-person shooter was truly revolutionary in 2004. But innovation alone isn't enough to make it an enduring classic. There is virtually nothing about the original Far Cry that isn't improved upon in its spiritual or direct successors, Crysis and Far Cry 2, respectively. Your time will be better spent with either or both of those games instead.

Very solid oldschool FPS with modern (at that time) feel to it. Of course some things might be dated from today's perspective and the game clearly has some minor/not-so-significant flaws, yet the overall experience is great. Big plus for trying to be innovative and creative, which they did successfully. I really like the idea that vegetation and stealth matter in an otherwise fast-paced one-man-army tactical shooter. Oh, don't get fooled by the in-game difficulty descriptions; the game wasn't made for casual players in mind.

While this game feels really dated it's still a sweet memory that reminds us of our childhood, all the fun and jump scares. I've spent a lot of time preparing myself to play this game when I was a kid as I was scared of those jumping monsters.

Decidi começar nessa franquia e nada melhor do que iniciar pelo primeiro. Fui sem muita expectativa por ser um jogo mais antigo, e ainda bem que fui assim rsrs. Pode ter sido revolucionário na época, mas hoje (2023) é sofrido jogar. ---== Gráficos ==-- Os cenários são muito caprichados, muito amplos e é possível se perder na mata facilmente se não prestar atenção na direção certo. De longe até que não são tão ruins os modelos de inimigo, mas de perto os detalhes ficam aparentes e não são bons. Existe pouca variação de inimigos e eles possuem o mesmo rosto. ---== História ==-- Simples e funcional. Não da pra criar nenhum tipo de conexão com o personagem mas serve bem de pano de fundo pra você passar pelas fases. As cinemáticas são feias demais... Plot Twist no fim foi mais telegrafado que passe de criança de 3 anos rsrs. ---== Gameplay ==-- Pra um jogo mais limitado me surpreendeu a física do jogo, é bem ok e da pra jogar tranquilo. A parte do Stealth me incomodou bastante, primeiro que só achei uma arma silenciada o jogo todo, e os inimigos te identificam de muito longe (claro que o protagonista utilizando uma camisa vermelha não ajuda no processo), mas a temática do jogo é perfeita pra stealth e não é isso que acontece na pratica. Existe uma variação ok de armas, mas as armas explosivas são ruins demais. ---== Resumo ==-- Não achei que valeu a pena os R$8,99 que paguei, muito menos os R$29,99 que é cobrado hoje sem promoção. Caso queira conhecer a franquia assim como eu talvez valha, mas esperar um jogo muito legal é demais hoje em dia.

Far Cry's graphics and psuedo-open-world jungle setting were extremely impressive for a 2004 game. The gameplay mixed up both stealth and brute force with a variety of satisfying weapons. Unfortunately, some of the mutant monsters you had to fight were irritating, especially the big brutes with rockets. As for the story and dialogue, it was simply bad, but in a charming B-movie way. If you enjoy this game, then you will love the mod Matto4. IMPORTANT: Use the Steam Guide "Far Cry Fix" by MJR to repair glitches with the Steam version of this game.

In my humble opinion — this is the best Far Cry title. Far Cry 1 has it specific ambience and atmosphere that has been lost in future games of the series. Still to this day that game can empress with it's graphich aspects. By the way, this is probably also the most hardest Far Cry title. You'll need to get some skills if you want to pass it. After all — it's another good nostalgic & classic game so far.
