What did this company spend a year doing, changing the 6 to a 7? It would be more satisfying to light $75 on fire. EA should be investigated for fraud.

Announces saying things that aren't even happening in the game. In RTG when I throw a pick i dap up the other team's coach on my sideline. In dynasty the game refused my ability to challenge a obvious not fumble in OT and just immediately ended the game. AI Rbs in my RTG also decide to run to the defense instead of into open holes. Greened multiple picks on defense just for the ball to go through my hands for a touchdown.

This score isn't about gameplay. It's about how EA and Sony treat the people who pay them, and my experience has been bad enough that I can't in good conscience rate this game anything **** sells two separate premium products for College Football 27: an "MVP Bundle" and an "MVP+" subscription. Both are priced at exactly $159.99. Both are named MVP. The only difference in the name is a single "+" character. One is a bundle, one is a subscription, and they contain different content — but you would never know that standing at the checkout screen. I intended to buy the MVP+ subscription for its exclusive benefits. I got the MVP Bundle instead, because two products with the same name and the same price are nearly impossible to tell apart.Anyone could see this confusion coming. That's what makes it feel deceptive rather than accidental. When two products share a name and a price point, mistaken purchases aren't a rare edge case — they're the predictable result of the design. What turned a frustrating mistake into a 0/10 was what came after. I contacted customer support to fix it — same price, just swap me to the product I obviously intended to buy. They told me there was nothing they could do. Sony's support said the same. So I'm out $159.99, holding a product I never wanted, and the content I actually tried to pay for is locked behind a subscription I can no longer obtain. Both companies took the money; neither will correct the error their own storefront created.Buyer beware: read every character of the product name before you hit purchase, because if you get it wrong, EA and Sony will shrug. Until they fix their naming, their storefront, and their refusal to make this right, this game gets a zero from me — no matter how it plays on the field.

Terrible game. Pay to play per usual except worse. Dont play cut. Too many glitches to be exploited. Even when you do well, whoops an onside kick reovery and a fumble on the next onside? EA programs it into their games stay away from this mess. Man coverage and run game (brain dead O and D) are the best so spend money shut your brain off and oh wow you;re a winner.

I wrote an entire review for why but it keeps getting deleted. I’ll say this. Money hungry, bad logic, problems go unfixed, awful coding. 2k and EA need to feel their mediocrity on their pockets. They keep shining turds and begging for our hard earned cash.

You know it seems every year that the only thing EA does right is sell this game, pay off the “critics” to make it seem above average. But then release a turd covered in so much glitter that it seems pretty, until you bite into it and realize it’s still a piece of crap. Overalls and sliders don’t matter depending on your difficulty. If you’re on heisman with sliders maxed out, your o line will still be tissue paper, receivers not breaking free from coverage, corners blowing coverage ext. same on the opposite. You 0 out all cpu sliders and they still have everything on lock. Just an experiment I did to prove that you could be the best team in the game will sliders in your favor going against the worst and you still will have an unenjoyable difficult experience. But it’s not because heisman difficulty is hard. It’s because all heisman does is make your teams awareness plummet and boosts everyones on the opponents team to max, ands that’s all difficulty is in the game. Dumbing down your players and giving PhD’s to the opponent. Making the experience unrelentingly tedious. Player overalls should matter otherwise what is the point of recruiting new guys. Why pay the nil. If every high overall player we get is instantly gonna be eating crayon on the sideline because you don’t want an absolute joke of a cake walk of any other difficulty setting. The ai is still embarrassing. How do we have robots now, super computers in our pockets and smart homes but this dev teams still can’t make blockers hit their mark, secondary line up more effectively agains receivers and corners actually make plays that make since. Why is it that the o-line or kick return blockers wind up blocking the runner or return man more than they do the opposition. It is a disgrace of an effort year after year out of EA to turn over slop knowing fully well they are the only simulation based american football video game. This is the problem with monopolies. When there is no competition then there is no effort. Turn out your B.S. slap in your micro-transactions (because you know 70+ for a glittering turn isn’t enough). Let the complaints fall on deaf ears and make millions. Until people stand up and either stop buying these games or start actually speaking out to have other companies make american football games expect this every year like with what EA did with madden. Another game that use to be the best. Now an embarrassing shell of it’s former self. Now I will say the only two things I think are great in the game. Presentation and the tiniest bit of gameplay. The game look beautiful and runs smooth. A big step up from last years bigger step back. When the game isn’t doing it’s dumb ai to make the game unplayable I actually have a fun experience. The plays move in motions that feel like watching a real football game. The potential is there for this to be one of the best football games. But because of everything else I said it falls even shorter than borderline unplayable. Makes overalls matter as much as you like to make it seem you care for. Get a better ai system to have players actually be a use rather than a detriment. Stop pushing ultimate team and micro-transactions and actually listen to your fans to keep telling you they want RTG or dynasty to be the main game options. But above all else, just actually start making an effort EA. We see through all the bells and whistles and your monopoly can only last for so long. For anyone wondering if I would push anyone to buy it I’d say it’s 50/50. Only buy it when it hits it’s $20-$30 deals, because honestly thats all the game is worth. Do not buy it for $70+. But if you can find it over 50% off then sure. Stay away from micro-transactions though, they are scams.

Micro transactions ruined the offline modes. It doesn’t even matter that they removed them, sliders are still not in the game. XP makes no sense and punishes you for playing on lower difficulties and without wear and tear by lowering XP. While I’m on the topic of wear and tear, It makes the game unplayable. If a defender even looks at your QB in RTG, he will get hurt. This game panders to the content creators and degenerates who spend money on Ultimate Team, and not the average player. Not sure how CFB can get much worse, especially considering that CFB 25 had way less to do and was way more fun.

Genuinely a disgrace how they’ve handled this game since launch. An unfinished, bug riddled mess that misses the mark on nearly every feature. EA is such a disgrace **** developer

Made it to the playoffs in CUT just to get kicked out because an exploiter is glitching the game. Could choose a play on offense and after using my previous 2 pauses for said reason, I couldn’t choose a play; got 3 back to back flags and got kicked out of the game. Nice playoff run ig

The game is broken. Dynasty is unplayable. Transfer portal players disappear. Too many school only recruit 1 or 2 star players when in real life all division 1 teams bring in mostly 3 star players leading teams to be terrible a few years into dynasty (Kansas, Kentucky, Vanderbilt…ect.). Then the transfer portal is a joke. Some teams will have 4 qb’s in the 90’s while other big schools only have 2 QB’s on their roster. Big name players disappear from the transfer portal. Mind you we can’t edit the real life players but EA doesn’t care if they vanish from the game after one season in dynasty.

Oh boy, this game is the definition of greed. The fact that EA tried to put micro transactions in dynasty and RTG and then took away XP ****’s shameful. This game is an embarrassment to college football, consumers. The gameplay is decent, mascot mode is fun, but the turn off is the classic EA greed. 4/10

I have played EA Sports Football games for years. This year for CFB27 has been a pleasant surprise. It is easily the best football game for this generation(PS5/Xbox1). The gameplay is more realistic than ever. The improved blocking allows for the beat running attack. I’m really enjoying it.

Buggy achievements may not matter to some, but when I play a game they give me something extra to play for and many people love them. EA Sports titles very often either ruin the games by making them a miserable grind to get achievement hunters to microtransactions or they are broken. This is an example of the latter. Outside of that, the game is basically identical to last year, like all of their sports titles. It also continues to neglect the one update that would be meaningful, and a huge deal for a massive chunk of the college football fanbase, FBS teams (or at least a good enough stadium creator so someone can actually fully create those teams). It will either never come or be a $40 microtransaction.

Probably the only reason I give this a 5 and not a lower score is because I do like some of the new dynasty changes. The NIL is decently implemented and the end of season Heisman presentation is actually awesome. Easily one of the best things I've seen in an EA Sports game in years. Sadly, that's where my praise ends. The gameplay is absolutely horrible. It doesn't even make sense cause CFB 25's gameplay was so good, I don't know what happened. Good teams/players will just cheat you now. You'll run next to the and get artificially slowed down. You can't push you own players out of the way anymore, change of direction is atrocious and just in general the game feels terrible to play. There are also bugs out the wazoo. Have had the game crash my PlayStation at least 5 times and there are other visual bugs that constantly pop up ( players not loading, logos not loading, etc. ). I don't know if they switched up teams over there at CFB or what because I genuinely thought 25 was one of the best sports games ever. CFB 27 though is closer to the worst ever than the best ever. Overall: 5/10

It could be better, but it seems like sports games aren't what they used to be... 2K and EA don't make fun games anymore, only games to entertain those addicted to the genre.

why the heck can't I edit existing players in dynasty? This has always been a staple in Madden, The Show and NCAA. Also the reason I do not buy NHL games anymore. JFC I bought the game, why can't I customize to MY CHOICES on **** do they care what I do offline? If I actually played QB for Toledo in 2026 and wanted to make myself a star WHY DO THEY CARE?Bought the game will not play until they fix this. Too many other great games to waste time on this nonsense.I bought '25 b/c you could do this. Why take away features? So mind boggling.

Probably the last CFB I will purchase. It’s unfortunate because I think the devs did a great job as far as actual gameplay. But EA not placing the sliders back into RTG is a big slap in the face. They intentionally made it harder to progress to incentivize micro transactions and once the community made a fuss about it they said “Sure we’ll take them out. Have fun being a low overall your entire career!” All the nonsense about “balancing” gameplay is complete B.S. I would have rather them just come right out and say “You either pay us or sit the bench.” They are clearly trying to move in the same direction as 2K where progressing a player through gameplay is not even a thought for most people. The issue is that 2K at least allows you to use that player for the rest of the year and has a wide variety of online game modes. RTG does not. It is honestly ridiculous that they expected players to spend their hard earned money to upgrade a player in an offline mode that they can only use for a max of 4 seasons. It is believed that there will be some sort of online multiplayer mode for RTG in CFB 28 but we have already seen how that went in Madden. RTG used to be a fun and creative mode with tons of options for how your career could go. Now, there is basically no reason to be anything other than a 5 star and to go to the biggest schools. The whole play on Heisman and leave W&T on agenda is completely out of touch. The W&T system is broken and not everyone wants to play on the hardest difficulty all the time. The return of CFB in 25 was great and the community was super excited for this franchise to start up again. However, I think that CFB 27 will be the beginning of the end for this franchise unless some major changes are made. Obviously people will always buy the game, but with their CUT mode being largely unpopular, EA’s greed took over and ruined a large part of what made the game great. The removal of micro transactions was really a punishment disguised as “hearing the community’s feedback” and it is clear what direction the game is moving in. It’s sad that the $70 people paid for the game wasn’t enough for them.

EA put microtransactions in offline dynasty and road to glory, for the last 2 cfb games I've played I have only played those two gamemodes, now I will never buy another cfb game.

EA puts in micro transactions, removes them due to backlash but then guts all the progression so that we get tired of it, and then next year they’ll offer a fix to all the progression. You just have to pay! This will be the last CFB I buy. EA ****.

NCAA 27 whatever it’s called is the worst football video game I ever laid hands on. It is nothing true to football and is the farthest from a simulation as it can get. The actual game of football is horrible. **** all the antics. I want the game to be played how it supposed to be. It’s full of cheeses and guys who don’t know a damn thing about football. It makes me sad that this games **** that bad and the community thinks it’s good because you can cheese really well. This should’ve been burned it the depths of hell

Road to Glory is absolute trash. Heisman mode doesn't make the game more realistic. It makes your teammates utterly useless. Wrs drop everything, OLs get blown up like clockwork, and no skill position players can get any separation. Its maddening. All American is too easy, so there's no middle ground really. If you're a road to glory player, save your money.

The gameplay is the best it has been. I was PO'ed about the microtransactions; however, they listened and removed them from RTG and Dynasty as of 7/11/26. This is one of the better football games I have played. I am enjoying the game.

I cannot stand the micro transactions this is where i draw the line I beg everyone who hasn’t purchased it dont make the mistake like I did and they removed xp sliders to encourage you to pay and I love RTG I genuinely can’t enjoy my favorite mode anymore this is disappointing EA I don’t even know if I will ever buy another college football or EA game ever again so in summary the game is awful because of micro transactions

HORRIBLE, adding MTX in is like selling a RPG game and then making people pay to get to the final boss. I've been playing EA games for over 30 years now and this is by far the low point. Fix it now, yall are idiots for even trying this crap.

The game itself isn’t horrible, it’s much better than 26 but the thing is I only play dynasty and RTG and the micro transactions completely ruin it. I was a 4 star qb and end of my senior year I was only 85 ovr… and I couldn’t even get abilities. The micro transactions completely ruin offline game modes and EA could care less

There has been constant mistakes, mishaps and errors that is holding College Football 27 back. While the game is good, and the gameplay has improved, it would have been great if it wasn't for all those issues that can be a major problem.

Another year another EA SPORTS football game. I'll preface by saying I love football but have never followed college ball. CUT looks like the same old FOMO treadmill it always is. I do really wish they adopted a system that allows you to continue grinding field passes even after new ones come out. The idea of needing to log in every day to keep pace just seems like a second job and quite unappealing. Road to Glory is a fun game mode but i'm disappointed they added a pay to win feature where you can buy stat points. Lots of bugs and technical hiccups unfortunately. Menus lag and there was one instance when I finally made my debut as QB1 only to run out of the tunnel with the opposing team. Madden is never a fully polished experience but the state that this game is in at launch makes that it look flawless. Even with what I said above the game is fun to play. I noticed a new animation that legitimately made my jaw drop. I overthrew my receiver and he pulled off a one handed grab in stride over his head. There's a lot of little moments like this that made me actually jump out of my seat like watching an actual game. On field gameplay is definitely still great and the star of the show. If you look past the predatory practices EA injects you can still have a great time. Unfortunately for me, having a lack of college football knowledge, I just don't think this will keep me playing for very long.
