The hack 'n slash role playing game Dungeon Hunter Alliance is a lot cheaper on other platforms, and for that reason alone not recommendable for purchase on a PS Vita. From a gameplay perspective, this isn't a bad game, but it doesn't shine anywhere either.

The gameplay is very much by-the-numbers for the genre. [May 2012, p.81]

Trite, boring and not at all compelling. Don't even bother waiting for it to hit the bargain bin, just leave it to rot. [April 2012, p77]

One of the worst Vita games I've ever played. It seems fine initially but you soon realize the difficulty scaling is not designed for single player unless you go for a deliberately broken build... which I did not. I've beaten this game and it never improves. The final stretch recycles assets constantly and in a way where it almost feels like objects placed into environments that were left half finished. Absolutely nothing interesting happens during the climax, which plays out in a way where as a player I truly felt like my time was wasted. This game is a bore. I suspect it's better in multiplayer, but there's no reason to play this. The Vita can play any PSP game, and there's plenty more Diablo-likes there. You're better off looking into Warriors of the Lost Empire or Dungeon Siege Throne of Agony.

This game was too harshly judged. Now since the Vitas life is winding down and looking back at the entire library it's actually not a bad game. The only game even remotely like it is Silent Hill **** Dimensions, however this one is definitely faster paced. The shake mechanic **** and there are some performance hitches throughout however overall it's a pretty fun experience and just a good all around time waster.

A long and fun game, albeit one with a lack of properly executed back touch features and filled with graphical mediocrity. Skipping this will not make your heart skip a beat – we promise.

A decent take on handheld hack'n'slash entertainment, but we can't help but feel that Gameloft were in too much of a rush with this one.

Why so much hate on this game? I found this game to be an enjoyable and an overall good experience. This game deserves much more credit than the critics and a lot of the reviews gave it.

Dungeon Hunter does offer a few moments of fun, but they're eclipsed by painful repetition and clumsy design.

Clearly not one of the best launch games for PS Vita, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is just a poor dungeon crawler with lots of glitches and technical problems.

Not necessarily a bad game. It just doesn't do anything to make itself memorable or stand out from a crowd.

Despite lengthy loading times, problematic multiplayer and a dull story, there's definitely some fun and a decent amount of gameplay hidden deep inside the depths of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance for serious fans of the dungeon crawler genre. For the rest, it would be wise to sheath that sword and wait for a discount or significant patch, because even with the additional elements added to the game, the lack of overall improvement just doesn't justify the nearly quadrupled cost from the previous versions, and new functions feel added on for the sake of adding rather than improvement.

Compared to some of the games that it has decided to price itself against, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance looks absolutely pitiful. Sitting this next to Uncharted, Army Corps of Hell or even Ubisoft's own Lumines, exposes Alliance for the cheap, nasty, outdated and outclassed little con job that it is. Expensive at a quarter of the price, this embarrassing waste of space has no business pretending to be a full retail game.

I think that people downvoiting this game made a big mistake. I put 10 just to correct a little bit a score. My general score is 7/10 because of the fps drop. But game mostly runs smoothly. Every hackslash person who likes diablo, fable, torchlight and other arpgs would love this. It's a mix between torchlight and d2(3). A lot of loot, nice system, enemies are abundant. It's excellent on the go to kill few monsters. I haven't tested MP, because i don't like to play that way. Items are various and useful in some build or order. Drops are abundant, which makes you look into your inventory fairly often (which i like despite other reviews). Everything has it's category and it's easy to compare items with one equiped. For me, this is perfect, a must have for vita system. One more thing: PRICE!!! I payed 15€ for the game, and im happy with that. Do not play something weird, because over 15€ it is really a waste of money. Game value is not more than that. It is what it is.

I don't know why people hate this game so much. It's got some sort of diablo like, and on today's vita, there's no other choices. The graphic's quite good and the skill mechanic allow you to build up for different style. Good game for me, way better than the ios version.

Despite the lack of character customisation, this title is fairly good for a simple and quite basic dungeon crawler.A standard, and therefore forgettable, fantasy story aside,DH:A is almost a trip down memory lane except on a **** it's a far cry from todays Diablos and Torchlights.

Visually it's acceptable for a PSP release, but I don't think it's good enough to be a Vita game. Nothing stood out, which I think for the RPG genre it really needs to be something special. On a personal note, I found it very disappointing that it's a port of the same **** it's more expensive for the Vita.
