Whilst Cube Creator 3D isn’t exactly a terrible game, serving its purpose as a 3DS sandbox builder well, I just can’t recommend the game due to how limited it is. If, in the future, an update added more building materials then I would be able to recommend it, but in its current state then I’d warn against buying the game.

But for a game that wishes to fill the need of those who want the Minecraft experience on the 3DS, this is probably one of the best to succeed in that regard.

Cube Creator 3D was an interesting attempt to bring the Minecraft experience over to the Nintendo 3DS. While not offering anything overly new, it gets the interface right and makes use of the hardware well.

When I bought this game, minecraft had not been released for the 3ds and the switch wasn't even announced so I thought this would be the closest thing to actually being a portable minecraft game without the crappy touchscreen phone controls. This game was not that, yes it has blocks but it feels more like an unfinished game than anything else. The controls are bad, mechanics don't work, the graphics are just off. They literally just had to rip off minecraft and I would have been happy and no one can deny that's what they tried to do. They tried too much to make it a different game though. I also have to complain that trees don't despawn on their own which is a pretty important feature in minecraft.

I have never played Minecraft so I can't compare this game to the original, but I have played Cube Life on the Wii U so I will make so comparison to that game. Cube Creator is a good game for the creative mode but the survival mode leaves much to be desired. I have played about 5 hours on survival and it seemed to easy to build the best weapons. I already have gold everything but on Cube Life I barely have middle level weapons and I am 20+ hours into that game's survival mode. The AI of the enemies in survival is pretty weak. The bears can be annoying in groups but the other enemies are easy to defeat because you can run circles around them and hit them. The selection of material and tools is good for a 3DS game I guess. I wish I had more options but that is just me wanting more to do in the game. Creative mode is great but I personally don't like that aspect of these type of games. I love seeing the things other people put up on Miiverse, but I don't get into creating things like others do. I also wish this game had some multiplayer so my son and I can do some co-op with our 3DSs. If you are into Minecraft type games, and you want one on your 3DS, then this is a good buy. It won't blow your mind at how amazing it is but it will entertain you for several hours.

Cube Creator 3D might not be the grand Minecraft experience that everyone was anticipating, but it is a very solid game in it’s own right.

the game is great for being a mobile game, I do hope for more content via DLC because I am hooked on this game, minecraft was fun until Microsoft bought it, hopefully this one goes farther but it does need more content, for 5 dollars tho there is more then enough to do.

As its own experience, Cube Creator 3D stands up well as an entertaining experience.

While this game is obviously a knockoff of Minecraft, without a lot of features of the "original", shall we say, Cube Creator 3D really impressed me, especially considering its price tag of $5 and the constraints of the 3DS.
