Crimson Desert is one of the most immersive games I’ve played in years. The world is beautiful, the combat feels intense and satisfying, and there is always something new to discover. I’ve spent hours exploring and still feel excited to keep playing. It is not only visually impressive, it is genuinely fun and memorable. For me, it deserves a 10.

after 180 hrs and a rough start - this game is a MUST HAVE for adventure/RPG/Fantasy fans. when the game first came it out it was buggy and rough for like.. 2 weeks. The devs pump weekly updates for 3 months and add even more stuff to the game, its great. can definetly recommend it. The story is actually good, people just say it isnt cause it's starting VERY slow and gets better and better plus, its just hard to stick to only story when you do 20-30 hrs of sidequests in between - you dont have to do that tho. love it 12/10.

I have spent 100+ hours on this one—I mean, who hasn't? The only real downside is the main quest storyline; it simply is not on par with the incredible overall quality and detail found in the rest of the game. Compared to the finale quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Crimson Desert's story line still has a steep learning curve to be better. Also, didn't realize Pearl Abyss was a South Korean game studio until the credits roll. Good for them. The industry desperately needs more high-quality games from up-and-coming studios, rather than just another Ubisoft money-grab.

For me this is the best open world game I've ever played right apart with Red Dead Redemption 2.

The biggest world ever, with really cool mechanics, astonishing graphics and... totally lack of story. After 30hrs of playing I was like - what tha f..k Im doing here and what for... It makes no sense with the wooden characters. Become boring quickly, maybe Im just to old but prefer to play games with strong storyline.

Crimson Desert is the size of an ocean with the depth of a puddle. The story, characters, and side content all are as bland as can be. This game has the worst main character of all time. While the combat can be fun, it gets tiresome after 10-20 hours which is just long enough for you to complete the tutorial. The game is massive but the quality of it isn't good enough to draw you in to explore it all.

It is funny as the more I play it the better this game gets and the more I want to keep playing. If you like exploration, player expression, customization, flashy combat and GORGEOUS GRAPHICS this is the game!

The Best Game Of 2026 So Far Crimson Desert has stunning visuals, an immersive open world, and satisfying combat. The attention to detail, dynamic weather, and exploration make the world feel alive. The story and characters are engaging, and the game is a great experience overall. Looking forward to future updates and new content! Amazing game! Beautiful graphics, fun combat, an interesting world to explore, and a great story. Definitely worth playing.

gerçekten hiç keyif almadım. 15 saat civarı oynadım ve oynadıgım her saniye tamam bu oyun birazdan saracak diye diye kendimi avuttum. lakin oyun beni içine çekmedi. açık dünyası geniş olabilir lakin beni amaçsız, hikayesi kötü olan bir oyun sarmıyor. 15 saatimi boşa harcamış hissediyorum. overrated demek istemiyorum ama overrated

I feel like I've been ripped off. The game is marketed as magnificent, but it isn't. The quests are tedious. The movement is clunky. It's utterly empty. Even Ubisoft does better.

Massive, gorgeous, smooth running, deep, mysterious, uncompromising, somehow relaxing AND intense, "open world," barely describes it. It's densely populated, npc's, birds and bees, lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Dragons. You can ride 'em, cowboy. This beast runs better than Fallout 4 on my 4090 system. 100+ fps on ultra. This code is optimized! I'm an old gamer. Been playing since 1984 (Commodore 64). Played everything from Elite to Starfield, Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Valhalla and Witcher 3. Okay. Yeah. The story telling is a little thin, but there is so much room on the canvas left to paint and Pearl Abyss is slinging the pigment every week. Having a great time at 100 hours.

Bad. Very bad. Needs a lot of work. Half the game has not been QA’d. There is so much wrong about this game and people only seem to praise graphics.

I honestly enjoyed parts of this game but I gave up halfway through. To be fair I appreciate the incredible graphics and environment which in my opinion is the best part, but after that there’s not much to enjoy. The combat is janky and repetitive and it’s just to simple and comparable to other RPGS. The games narrative is horrid and the fact you can’t skip cutscenes is irritating, you can only x2 the speed of the cutscenes. It ran very poor on the ps5 on performance mode, I enjoyed some parts of it but I just got bored of the average combat and the crappy mechanics and puzzles.

I have played more than 100 hours of this game, and the more I played, the more I realized that all the mechanics shown are useless. All farming activities, the three-protagonist mechanic, the crafting, and so on... Even the weapons found are identical (stats-wise) to one another.I appreciate the effort made by the dev team to implement the changes wanted by the community, but the problem with this game is deeper and more complex than a QOL change.I haven't finished it because I want to wait at least one more year to see if the devs can make substantial improvements

The game is dog ****. The only consistent thing about this game is its inconsistency. Hit boxes are horrible and vary, accuracy with ranged weapons like the shotgun is crap even in close quarters. There is an enormous amount of lag between dodging or rolling yet the enemies have zero issues putting out dozens of hits perfectly and quicker than you can even dodge. Every mechanic in this game just waste a crap ton of time. The game is nice looking, fun to explore but other than that the combat will definitely piss you off. Pay 80 bucks for a game and it comes out not even polished but with huge glaring issues that the entire community has issues with. Wish I never bought it and I will be on the lookout for any other game they make so I can avoid wasting money on garbage. The developers should be embarrassed.

My main issue with the game is an issue with many PC games. The game was designed for consoles and the porting to pc is half assed at best. As for the positives, the game is gorgeous to look at and the interaction with the environment is decent. Also, the ability to climb is great. I love the freedom it provides. and unlike many pc games, you do not have to spend hours walking around mountains or other terrain features. This feature is well designed, and thought and planning are necessary to climb high cliffs.
Now for the bad. This is a console game, like many of these games, that is not ported over to PC well. Also, the game interaction is often cumbersome and tedious. ?You want to cook some meals, start pressing buttons and either wait for the same cut scene or press more buttons to proceed. You want to interact with an NPC, you cant press one button. No, you have to press multiple buttons, ridiculous. And combat, like many console game ports, is simply mashing buttons while battling oodles of enemies. Half the time, I don't even know what combination I am pressing, yet I easily defeat scores of npc enemies. The inventory interaction is confusing and frustrating. YOu want to arm a sword, press a function button then choose. No easy way to switch through different items. It gets frustrating. Especially when you are trying to do a specific task like mine, and the game simply switches your active item. As for the game, designers really need to stop giving our champions of the land ridiculous task like go gather flowers because the npc refuses to do it. But I, the hero has to go pick flowers. WHY? And the puzzles, how about you design puzzles with subtle clues vs simply having to randomly guess for days in the hopes I can solve a random assignment. I would prefer writing a 10 page English report than try to guess random puzzles. There are many more negatives, but I am doing this off the top of my head. This game is more designed to frustrate than entertain. As an example of the frustration, every boss fight follows the same sequence, battle boss even though they can stun you for many seconds and beat you to a pulp, but luckily, just eat some food mid battle to instantly heal, pound on the boss, only to have him fully heal and increase power so you have to do it again, beat some more, then boss fully heals again and powers up more. Finally defeat the boss (not actually as a cut scene finishes the boss, not you) only to have them escape and run off. So you spend 10 minutes battling, and no kill. Finally, and this applies to many games, why must I follow an npc at the slowest walk possible. Can you not design a system of me following the npc, but let me set the pace? Follow an npc and have them get stuck behind another npc so you could crawl faster. And its not for a quick 5 second walk. It lasts many minutes of following these NPCs incapable of moving faster than a limping shuffle, even while on horse back. Again, if you want a fun and challenging game, spend your money else where.

One of the best open-world action games ever made. It offers both quantity and quality in a single game. The combat system is incredibly rich and varied, while the storyline is lighthearted and not always top-notch.

I love this game. It's worth pushing past the somewhat unintuitive controls to steep yourself in an immersive and mechanically deep Medieval fantasy world. It throws you into the deep end without a guide, but if you do a the littlest amount of research before playing the game, or looking up guides when you get stuck, this game is extremely pleasant experience. It's not story or lore heavy in it's exposition, you're not going to be sitting in 20 minute cutscenes, but instead you'll get a drop-drop of lore and narrative through the quest lines as well as the compendium which will be filled out as you explore the world.

Graphics looks nice and that's it
No soul, I don't believe in characters, no story, RPG system is awkward and not interesting (to me), quests are boring.

Crimson desert is not a good game. Sure, there’s a lot of stuff mechanically that’s sort’ve interesting, but the world itself is uninteresting, uninspired, zero good story or quests, and it’s clunky. Crimson desert to me feels like a tech demo that was made in unreal engine with nothing of nuance or value to back it **** you don’t care about good writing or lore and just want to kill **** for no reason then yes I think you will enjoy this game. But even then like I said the game doesn’t even play smooth, it is clunky. So that you might not enjoy **** only good I can truthfully say about crimson desert is that technically it is astounding. The graphics are good, the map is nice, and the amount of NPCs you’ll see roaming about or the amount of enemies you can be fighting at once is nothing short of truly impressive for a video game. But outside of that crimson desert is dog **** and I really don’t recommend it. There is no point to this game or its world, it’s all ass.

I don't tend to like difficult fighting, but there is just something about crimson desert that draws me in. I can go do 50 other things to improve my strength and come back and try again. The quest are interesting and varied. Great acting on the cuts scenes. I find myself laughing at the comments of the characteristics on the street. The graphics are AMA-ZING.

After spending approximately 98 hours with Crimson Desert, I can confidently say that it left a very positive impression on me. The game offers a highly enjoyable experience, especially thanks to its world, exploration, and the attention to detail found in both the NPCs and the environment. It feels like a game that was made with genuine care and passion, something that I don't see very often in recent **** of the game's greatest strengths is its open world. The landscapes are absolutely breathtaking, and exploring the vast environment is a joy from beginning to end. The world feels alive, filled with wildlife, dynamic locations, and countless details that make every journey memorable. Flying across the world is particularly impressive, as it truly gives you a sense of scale and freedom. Few games manage to create such a convincing living world, and Crimson Desert does an excellent job in this regard. That said, I think the story could be improved, particularly regarding Kliff. The beginning of his journey and the protagonist's backstory feel somewhat ambiguous, making it difficult to connect with him during the early hours of the game. A clearer introduction would help the narrative have a stronger emotional **** for the gameplay, the learning curve can be challenging, especially for players who are not used to playing with a controller. The keyboard controls can also feel confusing at first. However, once you get used to the control scheme, both the combat and exploration become much more satisfying and **** a recommendation from a player who has completed the game, I believe that adding a co-op or multiplayer mode could significantly increase its popularity. I understand that implementing such a feature in a game of this scale would be difficult, but I think the ability to explore the world and experience its adventures with friends would attract many more players and keep them engaged for a longer time.Overall, Crimson Desert is a highly recommended game that stands out for its living world, memorable characters, and strong sense of adventure. While there is room for improvement in the narrative and the accessibility of its controls, the overall experience is well worth it.

Visually Stunning, Fundamentally Broken I have allocated many hours to this game, largely to explore the world and push my PC hardware. If all you do is walk around and take in the visually stunning environments, it is acceptable. However, do not actually engage with the mechanics. The more you play, the more you realise that underneath the graphics, the game is absolutely unbearable.
Once the hype of the first 40 hours wears off, you see it for what it is: an exercise in rage-baiting. It is riddled with bad mechanics, endless bugs, system crashes, and a complete lack of respect for the player's time. Every single time I play, I encounter at least five bizarre bugs that I have never seen in any other game in my life. Appalling Quest Design:
The main quest is terrible. The game forces you into specific playstyles to complete objectives, but the execution is entirely broken due to constant system errors and buggy controls. Non-Existent Explanations: The quest instructions are the worst I have ever encountered. For example, a prompt will tell you to "board the wagon" with zero context. What it actually expects you to do is go find a wagon, steal it, and drive it back to an NPC. Broken Escorts:
NPCs walk incredibly slowly and frequently get stuck on pebbles in the road. If you move more than three metres away from them, the quest immediately fails, resetting 15 minutes of tedious progress and sending you back to the beginning. Dreadful Controls and Technical Failures The controls on PC are disgusting, and the core mechanics fail consistently. Heavy Movement:
Character movement feels heavy and unresponsive. There is a continuous one-to-two second delay when starting or stopping, meaning your character keeps walking after you release the keys. Faulty Mechanics:
The grappling hook only works half the time and simply fails the rest. Terrible Lighting:
Even when playing on maximum settings, the lighting effects are dreadful. There is a constant, distracting ghosting effect in caves and small areas. Broken Saves: The save system does not function properly. If you manually save at a specific location and load it later, the game spawns you at least 150 metres away, forcing you to trek back to where you actually were. Tedious, Unrewarding Gameplay Loops Frustrating Bounties:
You capture an outlaw, put them on your horse, and are forced to ride for 2 kilometres without a single road indicator. This results in riding in endless circles. If you accidentally wander into an off-limits area, an NPC shoots you with a sleeping dart. The area resets, you lose the outlaw, and you have to ride the entire two kilometres all over again. Merchant Wagons: Trading involves checking stock, loading a cart, and driving at a snail's pace. Reaching a destination can literally take half an hour of doing nothing. Clunky Stables & Taming: The horse taming minigame is unbelievably bad. Once you do have a horse, the stable mechanics are insanely clunky, and half the time your settings do not save. Forced Slowdowns: The game arbitrarily forces your character to walk slowly around specific NPCs and areas (like the stables), which makes absolutely no sense and breaks pacing. Do yourselves a favour and do not engage with this. Save your money and play something else entirely. This is a complete waste of money.

Crimson Desert is a game that constantly feels like it wants to be deeper than it actually is. There are countless systems layered on top of one another, companions, progression mechanics, crafting, exploration rewards, and combat upgrades, but once you start digging into them, most reveal themselves to be surprisingly shallow. Instead of adding meaningful complexity, they often create busywork. The combat initially shows promise, but it quickly becomes repetitive. Encounters are all just lengthy battles against damage-sponge enemies, where victory feels more like a test of patience. When you get other playable characters it doesn't help matters, it felt like extra busy work. Quest design is arguably the game's weakest aspect. Many objectives are tedious, poorly paced and forgettable. Even when the game encourages exploration, the payoff is rarely worth the effort. Well hidden items found in remote corners of the map often end up being no better, and sometimes worse, than equipment available near the beginning of the game. As a result, exploration lacks the sense of discovery found in other open world games. Large portions of the world begin to blend together, making the adventure feel flatter than it should. Technical issues further drag down the experience. During my playthrough on PlayStation 5, the game crashed multiple times, which only added to the growing frustration. All that said, I genuinely enjoyed wandering through some of the towns and discovering new regions. The world has moments of charm, and there were stretches where I found myself having a good time simply soaking in the atmosphere. There is some enjoyment to be found, but it's buried beneath repetitive combat, weak quests, shallow systems, and technical issues.

I gave it a 10 to counter the idiots who gave this masterpiece a 0. Crimson Desert awakens your inner child and pushes you to explore. It doesn't take you by the hand, which is a plus. The gameplay is very varied, and after 160 hours, there's still so much to discover. Once you understand the mechanics behind the puzzles and secrets, everything is solvable with the right amount of effort and without resorting to videos and Google searches. I recommend alternating pure exploration sessions with side missions and visits to the abyss... a few hours improving weapons and armor before tackling a main quest... you never get bored in Crimson Desert... the controls are complex, but they lead each player to develop their own personal style. Cheers to Pearl Abyss!

Yes, this game is hard to rate... but then i think about how breathless and fascinated i am while exploring this rich and beautiful world. Sure: some tasks are tedious, combat is not fleshed out perfectly, the controls could be a little tighter - but it is all redeemed if you stand on top of a mountain and one of the many great soundtracks kick in. The game is just too beautiful and i cant stop putting the controller down, so thats why i give it a 9!

Crimson Desert has a beautiful and expansive world, however this, as well as the rest of the game really, falls apart when you dig any deeper than face value. It has a very weak story that seldomly hooked my interest and after getting 20 hours in I ultimately grew bored of meaningless quests that felt like those from a game akin to Fallout 76 — boring fetch quests and unimportant tasks that while trivial at first (sweeping chimneys, saving cats from town roofs) grew old fast. The first ~5 hours of the game in particular this is very noticeable with very little action. When you work through this section and you think the game is finally opening up a bit, the combat system in itself falls short and no matter the upgrades or unlocks it all feels a bit spammy and unintuitive. Controls for this aren’t the best either. Again the world is gorgeous and probably the best there is behind RDR2 however in the end I feel the game is as the saying goes, “as wide as the ocean and as deep as a puddle”.

This game is so much less about perfection. It’s about ALL Pearl Abyss did here. The world is insane, the combat is to be mastered and the exploration has me in love. I think the analog is different but it was made in Korea and doesn’t need to cater to my western norms. I love this game and every hour I put into this game has been a new journey every time.
