I started playing this game at least two times but didn't go through with it but this time I finished it. I think my starting and leaving this game this many times tells something about the game. It has one of the best atmospheres across video games for me. Everything is so interesting yet it also explains everything interesting about it in such a dull way. First of all, the game looks amazing, I did play the Ultimate Edition on PS5 but I played this game on the Series S as well and it looked amazing there too. The lights and the shadows are just so well done it almost feels like it has built in Ray-Tracing. It looked this way on the Performance mode. This one of the key factors in its amazing atmosphere but of course there is more to it. The game has very intriguing vibes in general and I really like the cinematic presentation of everything. I like seeing such strong atmospheres in games. There is so much mystery and through the game, some get unravelled while more adds onto the pile but I didn't feel overwhelmed by them. The problem is how you explore through these mysteries. The game's main way to tell its lore is through the papers and videos you find and get throughout the game. I was intrigued by the game's story so I was mostly excited to find new stuff to read but I still find it lazy. There are so many games with great lores but you can tell it in such better ways that doesn't make you stop your gameplay for 2 minutes at a time to read or watch something. Especially videos are much more annoying, you can't control them, so if you want to catch something from the video, you have to watch the whole thing. There are audio recordings too and I don't understand why we can't listen to them while playing the game. They should've done this better. And with so much stuff you read, the protagonist or someone else doesn't help you make sense of them at all which I think should be a thing. Another thing is the dialogues, the dialogues are pretty corny in this game and there is so much babbling especially in Trench's monologues. It feels like they fell in love with their story so they make you watch and listen to these. Jesse doesn't help with this too much. I feel like she is not a complete character, she is missing a lot of stuff and she doesn't react enough either. I also felt strong Beyond Two Souls influence from her and her relationship with Polaris. But I don't hate it. There are many things that caught my attention in the story, for example the connections they make between the hiss and the paranormal things and the daily life and things we experience in it. For example rituals, they say people who understand the deeper meaning behind these daily stuff should be considered for employment at the bureau and I was really interested reading through these. These are the main factors I wanted to play this game but of course there is the gameplay and combat. Many people play this game for its combat. I mostly enjoyed it too even though it wasn't the game's strongest suit for me. I really enjoyed using the Service Weapon and the abilities we get. It was challenging for me and using the abilities to their fullest was a must but I enjoyed it. The combat also looks spectacular with how much you can use and move in the environment. I didn't care for the weapon and personal mods system. I think it's weak and you don't feel like you progress a lot throughout the game other than the abilities you get. The loots aren't interesting either. The puzzles were okay except from the Oceanview Motel ones. I didn't know what I was doing to get the doors open there. I also have a problem with the game's mission structure. I don't understand why they didn't separate the main missions from the side missions on the mission menu, it's just confusing and the game obviously differentiates between them. This same mindset annoyed me even further when I accidentally played the Alan Wake DLC for 3 - 4 hours before I realised this was not the main story. It was really interesting but I'd have wanted to finish the original game before starting them but you don't understand that it's not about the game's main story. It's confusing for the story too so I say that's bad design. There is nothing special about the music except the area where we went through with headphones in our ear with that great metal song. That was badass. Overall I think this is a special game with it's incredible atmosphere and very fun combat. I'm glad I played it (7.8/10)

Control is a phenomenal action-adventure that blends supernatural mystery, incredible world design, and satisfying combat. Its strange atmosphere, creative abilities, and unforgettable setting make every moment feel unique. A bold and brilliant experience that showcases Remedy at its best.

Great game, with a good combat system and a beautiful story. So you have great gameplay and great narrative. What else? Some game design choices has been not so great, like for example some checkpoint or some quest where you do not have really clear about what to do and any clue to got it , so you need lot of try and this could be frustrating. But is not so long as a game so I guess was to make enough difficulties. Great game. Waiting for resonant.

Control features Jesse Faden as a strong and compelling protagonist. She is both charismatic and capable, making her a great character to follow throughout the story. The narrative was mostly understandable despite its mysterious nature, and I enjoyed uncovering the secrets of the Federal Bureau of Control. The supernatural abilities were implemented very well, making combat feel dynamic and unique. Telekinesis, levitation, and the other powers added a lot of variety to the gameplay, atmosphere was dark and unsettling, which fit the game's world perfectly. Control was also surprisingly challenging, but overcoming its difficult encounters made victory feel even more rewarding. The gameplay systems were rich and offered plenty of options for different approaches.I completed the entire game on Normal difficulty, and for the most part the challenge felt fair. The only exception was Hartman, who felt like a poorly balanced boss compared to the rest of the game. Overall, Control is an atmospheric and rewarding action-adventure game with excellent supernatural powers, a memorable setting, and satisfying gameplay depth.

The game is and honest to goodness frustrating joy to play. The story is off the wall and to actually put all the pieces together you need to read the files. If players do that the story flows incredibly well.... though I understand why most dont. The gameplay is a shooter with mid rpg elements. There have been people I know who have actually gotten motion sick from playing this as well. So consider that a fair warning.

A game that feels short yet somehow also feels like it overstayed its welcome

Control was my first Remedy game and I picked a helluva game. The setting is one of the best in gaming, in my opinion, with a unique story and addicting combat that had me hooked enough to 100% the game twice (PS4/PS5).

Weird story, bad technique (HDR black screens sometimes, lip-sync is bad for German language a.s.o), the main character is unsympathetic and boring. I realy want to like it, but it's just an average game, the only special is the story and the story is bad.

An awesome game. It's another Remedy game so it's another banger. With solid combat, phantasmal settings, unreal visuals and scale, and just such an intriguing method of storytelling, I can't recommend this game enough.

I’ve played this game three times. I really like the gameplay — it's simple yet very varied. I love the plot as well (I don’t usually like reading notes, but in this game, I actually did!). It can be quite hard to understand if you’re playing for the first time or skipping the notes, but if you pay attention, you’ll really enjoy it. And I appreciate that the game and Remedy don’t treat the players like they’re stupid.

PS: Add-ons durchaus lohnenswert und for free dabei

The gameplay loop of the game is fun but it definitely gets repetitive very fast. By the time I was doing the DLCs I wanted it to finish ASAP. Also, the final boss of the AWE DLC is just terrible and tremendously frustrating. Bad boss battle design. The story and general setting is very interesting, but the game feels like a chore very quick.

The game may have its faults, mainly due to budget, but it has excellent graphics, excellent performance (ps5),combat is very good, story is so original and fascinating, but above all of this it has STYLE. You can tell that by the attention to details in the rooms, by enjoying original takes like the motel, the areas' names written on the screen, the phone room, it has "Genius"written all across the game's lenght

Many good ideas undone by repetitive combat, horrible UI, and the worst map and navigation system in any game ever made.

The Ultimate Edition on PS5 is the best way to experience the game. On PS4, "Control" had a wonky framerate and the resolution wasn't the best either. Thanks to the power of the PlayStation 5, this moody shooter from Remedy (Max Payne creators) looks fantastic and runs smoothly. Fans of "Death Stranding" and "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" will love every second of it. The two expansions are also worth playing. This is the best of Remedy's sci-fi trilogy (which includes Alan Wake and Quantum Break). I'd rate it with an 8.5 out of 10.

Control is a mind-bending action-adventure game that pulls players into a mysterious, surreal world where reality is constantly shifting. Remedy Entertainment delivers a visually stunning experience with a gripping narrative and innovative combat mechanics centered around telekinetic abilities. While its cryptic storytelling and occasional technical issues may frustrate some players, Control is a bold and unforgettable journey into the unknown.

Everything seems to be amazing but the actual game. Story is seperated from playing. Map is horrible and very hard to navigate. Game missions are instructed poorly.

Good game, fun gameplay but the story is a little bit confused, it's nice to use Jesse's powers, but the enemies are very repetitive. I was expecting more about her brother, and I didn't like the ending as well, feels like it was rushed...

A solid idea for a game set in a experimental setting. Worldbuilding is quite good. Interesting way to explore the lore of the world. Gameplay is fun if simplistic, its always fun to throw things with telekenieis. Though gets old fairly quickly even when trying to introduce new abilities. The game is really annoying to navigate at times, some areas are meant to be hidden but even trying to follow the main story can be difficult because of the awful map layout.

I heared really good reviews about the game before started playing it , the game in my opinion is average , and i found it to be boring really quickly , there are some cool elements in the game that makes it fun sometimes but still wasn't enough for me to make it worth my time.I wouldn't recommend this game , i think there are better options out there!

This game was so average. Like I Don't remember a game in so long that just felt that feeling of man I wanna finish this game so I can go on to the next one. Everything was mid besides the gameplay and mechanics everything else was just so uninteresting especially the characters I don't think there's a character I will remember in this game like at all. Map was confusing at times and the game most of the time didn't tell you what to do and trying to decypher it on your own was a pain bc of the badly designed maps sometimes.Only hype thing about this game is that I can get on to alan wake 2 now. I really wouldn't have paid any money for this game. I truly hope sequel fixes all this issues bc there is potential since the lore was somewhat interesting

Gameplay issues aside I really did not enjoy my time with this game. I loved Alan Wake so much I wanted to give it a try because I heard they are in the same world. Believe it or not the story is more confusing than Alan Wake but it doesn’t have the charm to keep me engaged. I did complete the game, which took about 12 hours, but by the end of it, I was pretty frustrated with the whole experience.

This was cool and fun. Smooth combat, an engaging environment, a unique atmosphere, excellent sound design, and great acting/voice acting. The story is bonkers, though, just as it is in all the Alan Wake-themed games. There are a few inconvenient difficulty spikes that feel unfair at the time, but persistence and a combat guide will get you through.

Hartman Final Boss Fight [AWE Expansion] was annoying asf. It's just too much unrealistic hard time that you lose all of your patience. This fight made the game less plausible for me. We. Don't. Want. Regenerating. Bosses. Big dissopointment Remedy, Bravo!

The gameplay is really fun, The destruction is really nice, and combat good and tactical. DLC are not so amazing...fells like a downgrade.

The story is boring and not engaging. All the cutscenes are just conversations between two emotionless robots. The objectives are often confusing, It's rarely clear what you're supposed do and the awful map makes it hard to find where you're even supposed to go. The gameplay is cool though, the launch ability is definitely the best part of the game.

In my opinion, it's such a great game that I platinumed the game on both PS4 and PS5. The plot of the game is very good. It should definitely be made into a TV series. Fighting mechanics are very good. When you enter the fight, the environment is neat, but after the fight is over, the environment is a mess. I look forward to the continuation of the game.

There's a lot to like about Control, chief of these is the story which is a little opaque but nevertheless compelling. Graphics are good for 2019 apart from the cut scenes which are laughable. Sound is very underwhelming, I can't remember any musical theme. ( Notable exception the Ashtray Maze which is about to as close as Rage Against the Machine as it's possible to get without getting sued) . Gameplay is fluid and the controls are responsive. Combat is a little brutal but you can tweek the options even making your character immortal, so if there's something you just can't get passed there are options, good in a linear game like this. My major gripe is you spend at least half of the game lost, wondering around aimlessly trying to find where your supposed to go! That's kinda frustrating, annoying and boring in equal measure. I've docked the game 2 stars simply because of this.

Control offers a truly immersive gameplay experience, thanks to Remedy's powerful Northlight engine. Although the story may have some shortcomings, the game excels in providing a Metroidvania-style progression and a sense of discovery that is hard to find in other titles.

All of Remedy's boundless imagination and postmodern sensibilities finally come together in their magnum opus, this jaw-dropping and perfect video game. The environment is eerie and brutally imposing. The combat is delirious. There are surprises around every corner. Exploring the Oldest House is tense and at times unnerving. The story is full of heart and terror. The lore is deep and inviting. It's hard to do it better than this, folks.

Great Narrative, great world, okay characters and beautifully many crazy and creative ideas (and good songs). Sadly gameplay lacks a lot of variety and gets boring and repetetive at times.

A rich story with great controls and many interesting things to explore in this mysterious building.

The game starts mysteriously from the very beginning: we enter a building, pick up a certain weapon and become the director. Mysterious, isn't it? The further we go, the more secrets will be revealed, and some we will have to guess **** game resembles older games in terms of mechanics - there are no first aid kits or health regeneration, health must be picked up from enemies. There are no markers, we will have to discover the way to all locations ourselves (there is a map). We cannot save the game whenever we want, it is only possible at checkpoints. However, when we use a checkpoint, enemies will respawn and we will have to fight them. For people who want to feel a bit like in the years 2000-2007, this will be the perfect **** game has a character development system and each point invested in the character is felt during the game. We have several skill trees to choose from and one can even go so far as to say that it is possible to create several different builds. We can play as a typical tank, we can go for energy, shields, throwing objects - there are several paths to choose from. The weapon upgrade scheme is more extensive – here we have a few more options to choose from depending on how you play. We can have a typical pistol, but we can also modify it into a good sniper rifle.Another element reminiscent of old games are bosses. In several stages of the game, as well as in optional tasks, we can meet bosses who require us to use the full range of our skills. The fights are not repeatable, each boss behaves and looks different and before we get to know him, it is more than certain that we will die several **** destruction of the terrain – insane. The terrain after the battle looks like the terrain after the battle, everything is broken, pillars are damaged, the floor is ****. I can't remember a game where it would be done so well, apart from Half-Life.When it comes to storytelling, nothing is served to us on a plate here. The game keeps us in the dark, in understatements. In later stages, many things will be explained or we will come to the right conclusions ourselves, but many things will also be left unsaid and we will only base ourselves on our guesses and information gathered in notes. And there are really a lot of these notes, sometimes too many. If we have a movie to watch in the game, it is a real movie, with real actors. This is not very **** main character has a number of skills and these skills are not just for show. Each one is useful and the game is designed in such a way that we have to learn to use them to effectively fight opponents. An interesting trick is that we do not receive these powers right away, but as the plot progresses. The game can surprise us in this **** entire action of the game takes place in one large building and there is a lot of backtracking. We will find some passage, but we will not enter it because it will be available only later in the game. This may bother some people, but I did not feel bored with it.Some opponents leave a little too little life. Some notes are censored by blurred words. This trick is supposed to make us guess certain things while reading. In my opinion, it is completely unnecessary.Side quests have a time limit. When they appear, we have a certain amount of time to take on the task. If we don't do it, they disappear. They often appear during the main missions. In my opinion, this element requires refinement. There are translation errors and dialogues fly by too quickly.

It's a decent game, but I'm not interested in the visuals or dialogue of the game. Gameplay is decent, but not anything special or outstanding. Visually, although impressive, the game is rather dull. The use of colors is fantastic and the game has a clear art direction, but still looks very grayscale and empty. I understand that the washed colors and emptiness of the environments is by design and part of the story/style, but it isn't done well. The idea was there, but the execution was not. Gameplay, for at least the first several hours, is very dull. I can't comment on the latter half of the game as I didn't go past a few hours of playing. The game isn't for me. I find it mediocre. But who knows, you might like it.
