#BLUD
Quotation forthcoming.
#Blud is a gorgeous game packed full of charm with fantastic writing, but the combat and controls prevent it from being a must play.
#BLUD from developer Exit 73 Studios is a gorgeous game that contains a familiar and goofy 80s/90s horror movie narrative theme but falls short in handing the gameplay control completely over to the player. The boss fights and selfie moments do make up for some of its shortfalls and also help to keep #BLUD more entertaining than not.

(MY SCORE : 7 /10) This Action-Adventure game which relies on Hack-and-Slash in its combat is quite exciting and challenging! In this game we play Becky Brewster, an orphan who lives with her father and has just moved to Carpentersville, which unfortunately is currently experiencing attacks from monsters and vampires. With his new friend Corey and the mysterious Janitor at Carpentersville High School, Kristofferson. Becky tries to overcome the attack. After the death of Kristofferson, who sacrificed himself to save Becky's life from Dragur's attack, finally Becky, Corey and his friends had to fight Geoff Freya and Dragur as the ENDING BOSS. In total there are 11 chapters to complete this game.

Patching some of the annoying combat decisions - like the dodge roll and no recovery period after being hit - could help make it a better video game - but right now it feels like an early access game that is not fun to play. It often felt like tedious work to get through the game, but I still wanted to finish it and see all the nice animations and story. Besides, a lack of enemy variety, pretty boring and simple soundscape / music / audio feedback, sloppy hit boxes, and very boring level design with fetch quests are a huge bummer... The art style and story are full of heart, but the execution seems half-baked. Rarely, I would prefer a game to rather be a TV series, but this is clearly what this studio should have done and focused on its strengths.

But Why Tho?
#BLUD is one that can’t be missed. For any cartoon fans, there’s so much to love here. The cutscenes, animations, and writing are pitch perfect and feel ripped straight from Cartoon Network. The combat is fun and constantly presents new challenges. It’s a love letter entirely devoted to the animated medium, from its design to its characters. Pair #BLUD with a Saturday morning, and you will not be disappointed.

Worth Playing
#Blud is a delightful adventure game that oozes charm. The story is good, and it's helped by the absolutely hilarious dialogue. The gameplay is excellent, and the overall gameplay length is just right, even with the various side-quests. Despite the aforementioned issues, the title is highly recommended for anyone who's looking for a solid, under-the-radar title.

Many of these flaws can be overlooked simply because of how charming the game is. #BLUD has a fun story, genuine laughs and a brilliant cartoony aesthetic. While it does have some rough edges, this is a fun little adventure that’s worth looking into if you think you’d click with its tone. I still think it could have had a better title though.

#Blud is a fun adventure that carves its own niche due to its incredible art direction and presentation. Combat is straightforward but small additions that are periodically introduced help to keep it feeling fresh. Bosses are a joy and lead to some stand-out segments that are a highlight of the journey. The mission design is a little lackluster with a reliance on collectathon missions and fetch quests which can lead to some frustrating moments. While the game sticks to the conventions of the genre, it manages to deliver a charming and engaging experience that fans of classic cartoons and dungeon crawlers alike will appreciate.

#BLUD is a hack-and-slash game that is overflowing with style. With its colourful cast of characters and gorgeous animation, it would certainly be nice to see more of Becky and her friends, even in another medium, such as what Cuphead received with The Cuphead Show! on Netflix. If you’re the sort of gamer who can look past the release’s occasional lack of polish and simple combat, and values unique and charming aesthetics, then #BLUD is definitely worth checking out.

#Blud is a hard game to like. Mechanically, it’s plagued with issues that I hadn’t seen in an indie game since 2013’s Ittle Dew. The story is hard to love, too. It’s easy to blame all its faults on the inadequate game that surrounds it, but #Blud’s story is fully capable of undermining itself. That said, if you take the game as it is and ignore those problems, you’ll find that #Blud has plenty to give back. Whether you’ll find this exchange worthy, it’s up to you.

The game features a beautiful artstyle with amazing animations that give it a really special charme. Cartoonish humor and I love the idea of having a social media site, that tells you what to do, instead of a bland mission log. But in terms of gameplay, the game sadly falls apart. The hitboxes and hit detection in the game feels outright broken. This makes combat feel more irritating, than fun.
