BioShock 2: Minerva's Den

It is a similar gameplay experience to the sequel title, but with an even more intriguing plot than reuniting with your daughter was. While gameplay won't feel original, the engineered and technology-run world will.

At 800 MS points it's a bargain; with its gripping story, engaging new characters and fun new weapons, Minerva's Den is a product the late Andrew Ryan would most assuredly approve of.

This add-on's great pacing and memorable story are excellent reasons to return to Rapture.

Ultimately, Minerva's Den uses Bioshock 2 as a platform to tell a more personal, interesting story than 2K Marin and co. achieved with the game proper.

Moving, melancholy, and even a bit hopeful, it's a true stunner; don't be surprised if it leaves you a little teary-eyed.

Rapture is getting old, and it's becoming increasingly difficult for 2K to wring interesting stories and characters out of the setting. That said, this is distilled and more accessible chapter in the Bioshock story, and if you liked the more action-oriented approach of the second game, Minerva's Den won't disappoint.

Best dlc with Half life episode 2 and imho better storyline than Bioshock 1 and 2

Best thing about Bioshock 2, with a great twist, using all the elements we love from Bioshock 1, and this DLC makes up for the Bioshock 2's main game being slow (apart from the ending).

When it comes to DLC, this is one of the best game add-ons I've ever purchased. The story is superb, and the experience is every bit as enjoyable as Bioshock 1 and 2.

If you liked Bioshock 2, you'll certainly like Minerva's Den. Solid story, fun new weapons, and interesting new plasmids. I don't usually buy DLC, but I purchased this on a whim and wasn't disappointed.

Fun But Predictable Story Creative but still a bit lacking in depth. Supposed to fill in a plot hole from the main game. It does that. But none of it really seems necessary to the entire story of Bioshock. The protagonist and antagonist aren't very interesting and I didn't really care about their history The plot twist was definitely a disappointment compared to the main games. I may have had my expectations a bit too high but it still doesn't deliver the impact all 3 game twists do. Characters Not very special. Only a couple main ones. Didn't really feel any empathy towards them. Even the only one from the main game has very few lines, which makes no sense because it was supposed to be about them. Visuals Not polished Repetitive backgrounds. Lacks much of the physical detail especially in the characters. Several glitches while trying to hop over things. Weapons and Powers Best part hands down. Some very fun surprises. Several new powers. Several new weapons. Even the enemies have a few tricks up their sleeves. Audio Very well done. Definitely some new scores not in the main game. Splicers have plenty to say. Jump scares and sound changes for tougher enemies still so their jobs. Some very surprising technical sounds as well that added to the overall environment and backstory. Recap If you want to experience some new weapons and powers while testing them on all too familiar enemies, then this is for you. If you're looking for something that delivers to the extent that the main game has for years on end, you may wanna stick to the main games. If you can get this dlc in a bundle on sale as opposed to buying it flat out, I'd say go for it. It's still fun and challenging and there are enough surprises to hold your attention. I just think it doesn't even compare to the genius of the main game and may hinder its reputation rather than excell it.
