OK GAME, LACKING STORY I'm not sure what everyone loved about this or why it has such high reviews. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not great either. It's pretty bland The gameplay is very creative but gets repetitive fast. Which may be normal in twin stick shooters but still I've seen better.
The weapons and upgrades are pretty cool, many to choose from. Some pretty useless though. Now about the story. It has real potential touching on emotions and grief mainly. But the way it's told isn't efficient. You get these little journal entries here and there. Not in order by any means. And no visual cutscenes to paint a picture for you. I eventually just started ignoring the journal entries because they were jumping all over the place. IN CONCLUSION
Thr creativity of the enemies and environments is top notch, no question. The graphics are fantastic as well. But without a proper conveying story with visual feedback or chronological excerpts, it's just not worth paying for. I got in on sale but I regret it.

This was the most frustrating game I've played in a long time. But... the story was among the best I've ever seen. Let me just list the parts that may deter some of you. 1. The combat system is so different it's hard to get used to. Once you do, the hidden enemies that just hit you off screen or appear out of nowhere behind you, again off screen, while you're focusing on the ones in front of you make you feel like you've lost the hang of it again. And the dodge feature is not consistent. Sometimes it works and other times you just keep getting hit until you die. Not to mention the impossible to dodge flying objects later in the game. 2. The weapon inconsistency just confused the crap out of me. You get a full arsenal of weapons right? Then you start with nothing again or only one of them. You find them again. Then further down the road you lose them again and have this happens throughout the entire game. Call me old fashioned, but I like my weapons to stay with me and to increase in power as I find more. Like leveling up. This was just weird and frustrating. 3. Controlling your character can be tough at times. Your main action you have is run and jump. But I found that the jump button wasn't very consistent and would often have me falling off places and dying time and time again. As for the running you have stamina but no bar or anything to see how much you have or when it's recharged. You have to guess. And when you're running away from enemies because you've run out of ammo, this causes many problems. Plus the enemies can catch you every time. You can't outrun them. They have super speed. 4. Finally your main source of weaponry which is light was inconsistent. The brightest light was always the same. Healed you and charged your flashlight. But anything less was confusing. Some light the enemies could stand in no problem and other light they would disappear or just back away. So if you can live with all that the story will help make up for most of it. But it was a very frustrating play for me.

Resident Evil Village6

WAY INTO LEFT FIELD It's a fun journey with plenty of Unforgettable characters
Powerful weapons
Plot twists Variety of environments And intriguing bosses But it just doesn't seem to fit the rest of the Resident Evils at all. Resident Evil 7 was a stretch but it maintained a good solid theme. This one seemed to lose it's footing from the very beginning. It doesn't really decide what game it wants to be. From the isolated moments to the barrage of enemies thrown out of nowhere to the ending trying to tie everything together. I just don't think the developers spent enough time trying to make sense of it. They seemed far too busy trying to create variety in every way. So, it's still worth a playthrough. No doubt. But just don't expect it to follow any of Resident Evil's well known mechanics. Resident Evil 7 was a good revival after 5 and 6. But #8 seems to be more of a backslide than another step forward. Let's hope they get back to their roots for Resident Evil 9.

Wait for the sequel The first one was so much better. This one took out so many gadgets, added a crappy story, and terrible voice acting. The main character is a scientist and her dialogue makes her sound like a whiny complaining moron. I turned off the voices within the first few minutes. This one was as beautiful as the first but not nearly as vast or interesting. They seemed to focus so much on the cold environment aspect, they forgot about everything else. The creatures are ok but the leviathans are nothing compared to the first one. Easy to dodge and not as vicious. The abandoned places to explore were so dull and just subpar. I only finished the game to see what happens. Believe me, it wasn't worth it. This game may stand on its own as a fun survival game but whencompared to the first, it should never have existed. Wait for the sequel. I'm sure they're working much harder on it than this piece of mediocrity.

Not Even Worthy of Being Part of the First Game So the added a bunch of stuff in the gameplay
That doesn't mean it's better in any way shape or form
So they made the audio scarier
That doesn't mean it's an improvement The story doesn't fit at all
The enemies are frustrating and annoying and most you can't even kill, you just have to stealth through
That fact meaning the upgrade system is pointless
Every character from the first one has changed demeanor completely
The story goes way far into left field
The bosses are easy
There's almost no reason to explore
The new powers don't really help at all
And the ending is the stupidest you can imagine They really should have quit after one game
This game's purpose is mainly to make the first one shine even brighter Take my advice
Cherish the first one for all it's brilliance and forget this one was ever conceived Bendy, I'm sorry you had to be a part of this

RoboCop: Rogue City6

Great Gameplay yet Poor Quality This was quite a fun shooter and definitely adhered to the limitatios of the classic 80's Cyborg Hero. There were plenty of weapons, side missions, and upgrades. But the parts where the game fell short was the acting, the visuals, and the upgrading system. The voice acting was so over-the-top it pretty much ruined it for me. The main characters do a fine job but the side characters sound very similar and all just drugged up on enthusiasm. And their reactions are very inconsistent to what's going on around them. The NPCs almost stand there motionless after they're through talking to you. I understand that this is a lower budget game but I still believe they could have spent a lot more time on the visuals. The background was stale, the lighting was hard to work with at times, the ncps lips never moved in sync with the audio, and the same build of Ncps was used over and over and over. The upgrading system would have been just fine if they worked a bit on the chip merging aspect. It was very confusing and inconsistent. And it took far longer than it needed to to figure out how to make it work. The penalties in the chips was not needed either. The choices of upgrades were pretty all over, but some were really not needed. The psychology one was not necessary at all. It's supposed to help you figure out which is the best choice of how to respond to a question when important game changing one's are asked. But it's not that hard to figure out and you can play through again to figure out what the choices do. As far as the performance goes, my game crashed several times and I had to restart it several times because of glitches. And lastly I wasn't a huge fan of the limited exploration during missions. There was plenty to find but robocop can't crouch, jump, or break anything really except doors and walls. This made not only exploration a challenge to get all the extras in a mission, but combat was very challenging when you're used to crouching like I am, and I often died because I couldn't move quick enough. Throughout the game it shows robocop sitting in his chair after a mission so he should be able to crouch by that standard. So in conclusion, if you're looking for a fun first person shooter, this game is for you. But if you are a bit more picky on quality like the acting, visuals, or preformance, then I'd say this game is not your cup of tea.

Great game from start to finish. Plenty of variety and challenges. Fun and deep story. Very nice visuals and soundtrack. It's a shooter! It's a platform! It's an RPG! And a Puzzler! The only thing I think that needs some work is the power up system. There weren't that many to begin with. They were hard to use and broke easily. And they didn't really add a whole lot to the gameplay. Not as much as other games. It kind of made me not want to search for more of them or solve secret missions. It just made me want to forget they existed and play the game.

Great potential but just falls short in so many ways. The beginning captivates you with absolute horror. But soon after, you find things slow way down, the puzzles make it almost come to a complete stop, and the constant character talking to himself ruins every bit of suspense and thrills that the creator had left. Not to mention, the stupid gadgets, frustrating controls, and constant glitches. I would say play the first maybe the second chapter then quit! Or just avoid this train wreck altogether.

BEST NON COMBAT HORROR I'VE PLAYED IN A LONG TIME!!!The sightsThe soundsThe psychologyThe fearAll of it was superb. Many parts did feel like the movie and I enjoyed that. But taking a 90 minute movie and developing a 15+ chapter game is something to be proud of. The story was incredible The characters were relatableThe voice acting was top-notchAnd there were plenty of twists and turns to give you one heck of a ride! The only problems I saw were in the visuals. Backgrounds not as polishedLighting not always the bestAnd I got stuck in a glitch twiceOne of them, I had to reset the gameBut still well worth your time if you're a fan of Horror, psychological, mystery, or exploring.

GREAT STORY, GREAT SETTING, BAD GAMEPLAY! The mood is right, the setting is perfect, and the fear is real. But no map
No objective list
No easy icon markers
Bad voice acting for a horror If you can get past that, you may find a lot of enjoyment out of it. But for me
I need a little more direction and a lot better acting. I was lost so many times that the story just screeched to a halt and the excitement was gone. I couldn't even finish the game. I got this on sale for $3
If you're not sure, wait for that sale again before you waste your money.

Fun But Predictable Story Creative but still a bit lacking in depth.
Supposed to fill in a plot hole from the main game.
It does that.
But none of it really seems necessary to the entire story of Bioshock.
The protagonist and antagonist aren't very interesting and I didn't really care about their history
The plot twist was definitely a disappointment compared to the main games. I may have had my expectations a bit too high but it still doesn't deliver the impact all 3 game twists do. Characters Not very special.
Only a couple main ones.
Didn't really feel any empathy towards them.
Even the only one from the main game has very few lines, which makes no sense because it was supposed to be about them. Visuals Not polished
Repetitive backgrounds.
Lacks much of the physical detail especially in the characters.
Several glitches while trying to hop over things. Weapons and Powers Best part hands down. Some very fun surprises.
Several new powers.
Several new weapons.
Even the enemies have a few tricks up their sleeves. Audio Very well done.
Definitely some new scores not in the main game.
Splicers have plenty to say. Jump scares and sound changes for tougher enemies still so their jobs.
Some very surprising technical sounds as well that added to the overall environment and backstory. Recap If you want to experience some new weapons and powers while testing them on all too familiar enemies, then this is for you. If you're looking for something that delivers to the extent that the main game has for years on end, you may wanna stick to the main games. If you can get this dlc in a bundle on sale as opposed to buying it flat out, I'd say go for it. It's still fun and challenging and there are enough surprises to hold your attention. I just think it doesn't even compare to the genius of the main game and may hinder its reputation rather than excell it.

I wanted to like it. I really did. But due to the unforgivable flaws, I just couldn't. Very confusing unrealistic story
Very weird annoying audio
(Dead people's thoughts?)
Hit and miss visuals
Very sticky heavy controls
Unforgiving combat
Pointless puzzles
Constant plot interruptions due to sudden obstacles
And a confusing upgrade system It seemed to be trying to combine parts from Dead Space, Wolfenstein, and Resident Evil. All fantastic franchises but I guess the developers didn't catch the right pieces. It has great potential The story is unique
The futuristic feel is interesting The music is top notch
The dialogue is funny for the most part
There are plenty of weapons, upgrades, and powers But with all the flaws I can't even finish the game. There are plenty other games out there like the ones I mentioned without these flaws that are a blast. If you wanna give this one a shot, BUY IT ON SALE! It's not worth $60
It's not even worth $30 Save your money for better games!

WELL WORTH IT!!!
(Even if you're not a fan of Souls Games) I'll start by agreeing that the visuals aren't the best, the voice acting is a bit over the top, and the map doesn't always make it clear where you're next objective is. But the story and gameplay is some of the best I've experienced in a long long time! Yes it is a Souls Game but don't expect it to be like all the others. It's story is far more linear and so the open-world concept is not fully there. If you can deal with that, it's got plenty of mystery and adventure. I am a huge History buff so any story set in actual History is fascinating to me. And with so many Science Fiction games out there, I think a robotic theme set in the 1700s is just brilliant! Automats really did exist and the struggles of France existed as well. So to see a whole story built around that is the perfect choice in my opinion. Then add a little magic power and a spiritual root and you've got a game. Unlike other Souls Game since the main character is an agile robot, you can jump and dodge with ease, and it makes combat so much more enjoyable. And for all those who don't like to attempt Souls difficulty games, this game has an assist mode where you can tweek pretty much anything to fit your level of skill. Back to the gameplay. The game is full of all different kinds of weapons and upgrades and you even get different powers of your own as the game progresses. There are 3 main elemental powers and effects as well. I also enjoyed the fact that all the enemies were robots as well, making combat even more exciting, as a human wouldn't stand a chance against the main character. I love that the main character, even though being a robot, can think and speak and find out who they really are as the story progresses. I definitely felt there was tons of variety of scenery and even night and day. And the audio and sound effects were top-notch. The last part I enjoyed was there are tons of choices to make that will change the story based on who you help or don't help. So, if you can look past the less than adequate visuals, including having to play with the lighting a bit depending on the location, some stronger-than-it- needs-to-be voice acting, and getting lost from time to time, then I think this game is well worth an entire playthrough. But if what I mentioned may frustrate you to the point of rage-quitting, then I'm sure there are better games for you out there.

Shadow Warrior 30

Couldn't even make it past the first scene. Maybe some people don't care when developers change an entire character starting with the voice, but I do. I couldn't care less if people are offended by very talented white voice actors doing Asian characters. They got the job because they're talented, not because of their race. So new voice actor way too passionate, lines are pathetic, and he doesn't even sound like Wang at all. If you're expecting a sequel forget it! This is a whole new game that I have no interst playing. I fell in love with Wang. You can't have someone else play him and still be the same person. Sorry developers you just killed the franchise. Shadow Warrior 1 and 2 will always be epic! Let's just forget there's a 3 shall we?

The Suicide of Rachel Foster5
Dec 5, 2023
A lot of people have complained about the story being sick and disturbing. But this game is in the horror genre for a reason. If you're easily triggered by subjects of suicide then just don't play. But I have to say that as good as the story and voice acting was, the gameplay truly suffered. Very little resources to help you find the next objective, a map that doesn't show you where you are, and hundreds of objects you can pickup that do nothing! I must have spent more time trying to figure out what to do next then I did playing or listening to cut scenes. I don't mind a bit of a challenge but when things are so vague you can spend an hour or 2 looking for the next piece of the puzzle, it really dampens every single piece of Horror the game worked so hard. The jump scares, plot twists, spooky noises, and hidden secrets would have been great if you didn't end up spending so much time in between, giving you plenty of time to calm down and get bored before the next jump. Graphics were fine. I think there was some good details in the background that added to the Horror aspect. Sound was fantastic. I highly recommend playing game with a headset on. You will feel like you're in the spooky hotel and all the noises are coming your living room or all around you. Voice acting was very well done and needs to be applauded. Only a few voices in the whole game but really knew how to emote. Finally, the length of the game is hard to say. It depends on how lost you get, and whether or not you cave in and look at the walk through. I had to look it up twice because like I said there is just not enough to go on. I would say at minimum a few hours to beat. In conclusion, if you don't mind the lack of resources or vague direction, you'll enjoy this as a Horror game very much. But there are so many first person Horror games out there that don't get you lost every 5 minutes. I'd recommend finding them over this one.
