Battlestar Galactica Scattered Hopes is a wonderfully engaging work in its own right on top of being one of the most holistically smart video game adaptations in history. I am tremendously impressed by it and cannot recommend it to fans of the series enough.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is a love letter to a franchise that’s been criminally underrepresented in the gaming world. This roguelike blends together the moral dilemmas that make the series so memorable with nail-biting RTS battles. While not all elements land equally, the whole package is well worth it for both fans of the franchise as well as those looking for their next rogue-like itch.

Bon jeu.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is an excellent adaptation of the franchise as a whole, as well as a very good FTL-style game. It features all the standout elements of the TV series, combined with original and well-designed gameplay. The battles are intense, but so are the management phases, and there’s easily enough content to keep you busy for dozens of hours. Boredom does eventually set in, though, since the battle format and crises don’t change up enough. But for a fairly modest, low-priced game, it remains a genuine success, and you can’t help but relaunch a space adventure every now and then with great pleasure.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes feels like a genuine, honest extension of the cult favorite 2004 television show. It perfectly captures the dark, unrelenting tone of hopelessness that the TV show became known for. The hectic space combat has a fun, brisk pace to it that never overstays its welcome, and it is brilliantly balanced by more human moments with the crew on your ship. It doesn't necessarily reinvent the wheel for the roguelite genre, but if you're a fan of the franchise, this is going to be a game that will make you quite happy.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes immerses us in the atmosphere of the acclaimed TV series through a tactical, story-driven interstellar journey. The roguelite gameplay is well-designed, though the high difficulty level might discourage newcomers to the genre. The art style and soundtrack are also excellent, though voice acting for the narrative scenes would have added a level of depth and player immersion.

Scattered Hopes has exciting combat and delights in pushing difficult choices. The first few runs are fantastic, but it starts repeating itself alarmingly quickly.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is an interesting concept, but it falls short of finding the sweet spot between challenge and choice.

I have played 114 hours on the several betas and most of all and the final build that's been brewing for these past few **** me tell you first that this game has been made with care, love and hard work. The team is clearly passionate about the BSG franchise and it really shows when you play the game. Every minute detail is a testament to our beloved tv show. They hace really listened to the community feedback on all aspects and made what I think are the right choices to steer this game to success. The game is gorgeous, a mix of pixel and voxel art and digital painting, blended together **** plays naturally like many roguelites we know and love : Crying Suns of course, but many more. There's a hint of Frostpunk, some Disco Elysium, some FTL **** music is masterfully exectued by Nicolas de Ferran who made something very special without copying Bear McCreary's work and really creating his own music soundcapes.
The game is very accessible too, you can play and get your asshanded to you or you can use assist mode like I did and set precisley how difficult you want the game to be.Give it a go, you won't be sorry.
SO SAY WE ALL !

While not the AAA experience modern gamers demand, this little roguelite, offers a lot of handcrafted story and interesting FTL-like combat.

There is a haunting beauty in the desperation of the Battlestar universe, and this game captures that ache with the grace of a dying star. Tension is your constant companion, whispering that time is a luxury you cannot afford. Every jump feels like a heartbeat skipped, yet smooth menu navigation makes this steady descent into chaos feel dangerously effortless. The story maintains a balance between hope and extinction with surgical precision, leaving you yearning for just one more ****, even the most beautiful nebulae have shadows, and the deck of this ship feels narrow in perspective. Once the voyage begins, the rhythm of the stars feels hollow when points of interest are exhausted. There is a curious stillness when you find yourself with turns to spare before the Cylons arrive, yet nothing to fill the silence except repetitive crew training. Because work within gunship interiors costs no points, and repairs are oddly instant, there is no way to move time forward with purpose. I would have liked a mechanic to jump early at the expense of time, perhaps gaining momentum on the Cylons in the next sector. As it stands, the arrival of the Cylons, once a thing of terror, becomes a welcome relief from waiting. Later on, though, you crave more turns. I could also do with fewer event interruptions that lead to frequent **** a flight representing our species, the crew’s makeup is heavily weighted toward a certain demographic, making the Twelve Colonies feel like a restricted circle. One wishes the fleet better reflected the global spectrum of the world we left behind. This detachment is deepened by leadership mechanics; finding a hero at a trader, only to find vital traits hidden until purchase or you find the hotkey to see them, feels like a blind gamble. It saps the weight from your decisions when trying to commit limited **** political landscape is easily **** once you become aware of the numbers behind the facade. Dealing with factions feels too simple for a universe on the brink. The bar provides much needed rapport, yet conflict is resolved by merely socializing—an easy fix that lacks true narrative depth. After several runs, the illusion of complex diplomacy fades, leaving a mechanical aftertaste that makes the immense universe feel strangely restrictive.People felt more impactful in the team's earlier title, Crying Suns, whereas in Scattered Hopes they are treated as mere numbers. When a civilian ship is destroyed, the crew does not bat an eye and just carries on with the day. Losing two civilian ships in a run highlights this disconnect; aside from a mechanical morale drop, the tragedy is barely mentioned. Only a brief event states that survivors will be brought onto other vessels, while only a killed hero is truly remembered. It is a narrative oversight for an IP rooted in the desperate preservation of human life.Beyond the crew, the soul of the machine feels too smooth. A rigid certainty strips away the fear of the unknown; systems are governed by exact numbers and guaranteed outcomes. Heroes level up after precisely two actions, and points of interest always yield exactly what they promise. This predictability **** the facade of reality, revealing a clockwork engine where I long for a flicker of chaos. The POIs lack adventure, offering a fleeting touch rather than a desperate struggle, lacking the deeper engagement where field missions could claim **** battle, that poetic flow is tested by an interface where selecting a nuke becomes a high stakes game of chance. Cancelling an order and giving one are reversed when dealing with the Gunship compared to squadrons, which is weirdly confusing. Make sure to pause. Combat remains the strongest aspect of the game though, where the team surpasses their older title in gameplay. Yet, a tonal inconsistency is found in the chase: when the Cylons have found you, tension rises, but retreating to the hangar causes the music to mellow out as if you were not being pursued. This lull saps the urgency of the hunt.Readability also requires a pass; it is not clear what a card demands. An objective to "Kill 15 Cylons" fails to specify that the hero must be in battle, not just attached to a squadron. While one might assume this, it is never explicitly stated. The Faction sheet suffers from a similar rigidity; everyone begins as "fair," but as the political landscape shifts, the nuances are lost. The UI only tracks the broadest **** summarize: while the foundation remains strong, it remains a poetic tribute in search of more depth. I pray for a future pass on cast balance, the stakes of risk and reward, and genuine chance over a formulaic approach to fill the lifeless void felt after multiple **** I am grateful for this journey toward a new **** say we all.
