Batman: Arkham Shadow is a thrilling return to Gotham in VR, delivering immersive combat, clever gadgetry, and atmospheric exploration that rivals the series' best moments, even if some stealth segments fall short of the franchise’s usual polish.
Batman Arkham Shadow is a proper game with VR and not simply a VR game. This is a true must-have for Batman fans.
Batman: Arkham Shadow was the best introduction into the VR world I could’ve asked for. I’d recommend newcomers like myself to start on the easier difficulties to get acquainted with the controls, then ramp things up slowly as you get into a groove. The plot enthusiasts may find themselves disappointed by the story, but look, this is the closest you’ll ever get to actually feeling you’re Batman. That’s gotta count for something.

Batman: Arkham Shadow is the most authentic and immersive way to make yourself feel like the Caped Crusader that I’ve ever played.

If you have been longing for another Batman game in the wake of Batman: Arkham Knight releasing almost ten years ago, I really cannot recommend Arkham Shadow enough. While it requires a bit of a heavier investment as it’s only available on Meta Quest 3, I struggle to believe that any Batman fan will be disappointed by what Camouflaj has done with Arkham Shadow. It’s not only one of the best VR games that I’ve ever played, but it’s a Batman experience that very much earns its place amongst the Arkham games that have come before. If VR ends up being the predominant medium in which Batman: Arkham titles are released in the future, you won’t find me complaining.

It may not be the revolutionary VR title that unequivocally makes the platform become widely adopted, but I would absolutely count it among my favorite VR experiences alongside games like Beat Saber and Half-Life: Alyx.

While I get the skepticism over a VR Batman game (I was unsure how this would actually pan out when it was announced), Camouflaj has more than proven that they are a major player in the VR AAA space, and Oculus Studios has yet another feather in their cap with Arkham Shadow.

It's great to see really lavish, well-made and successful blockbuster titles like these in VR. The format itself would have needed a lot of these games at an earlier stage to reach a wider and larger audience. If you have a Quest headset, you just can't miss Arkham Shadow.

The knowledge that there's always another unlock just around the corner - and the tanalising locked-off areas you pass en rouge - ensures Shadow retains the fourth, invisible thing that held the Arkham series' other pillars together: the sense of forward momentum. [Issue#405, p.116]

I’m sorry, but if you give this game less than a 90 you’re either mad because it’s a VR exclusive or you’re mentally ****.

I would give it a 10 but why is it in VR I can’t play this what type of games are you playing because I ain’t playing theses games you did this on purpose because you want YouTubers to do this since there rich and other people are to poor like me to buy a headset and there to expensive and I could buy 49 games than a head set you could have gave it to console but you put it on VR

Like the game overall, it nails the Batman Arkham vibe that we've come to know and love. Combat is cool and grappling around and throwing batterangs is very satisfying. However it took a long time to get used to the set animations for actions and some gestures didn't register well, like the gliding. Some inconsistencies in how grappling worked sometimes left me dangling awkwardly, this paired with the set animations could be somewhat immersion breaking at times.

After the miserable excuse of a sequel "Suicide Squad kill the Justic League" was, it's great to return to the Arkham series. The freeflow combat and aesthetic is amazingly well done, if I had one criticism however it's that the game would be so much better if there was a full PC release. There's stutters, it's clearly not rendered anywhere near the headsets native resolution, but regardless of that it's still a good time.

Oh my hecking god! What an awful mechanics they're. I never liked Batman because he's is an overrated character! The game came freely after I bought Quest 3S and I installed it but now I hate both Batman and the game. Mechanics are very dreadful!
