Could have been a bit longer but Its perfect overall. Loved the combat, it felt like some kind of Hitman+Uncharted mixup.

Very poor graphics (on PS5), boring gameplay, trivial story. A couple of decent characters, good melee combat.

James Bond First Light plays it very safe gameplay wise. It feels like a hybrid between Uncharted and the Hitman series. The stealth and parkor mechanics lack depth. The story is very Bond, leaning heavily on stereotypical plot devices from the films. The gadgets and guns lack variety. That said the way the environment reacts to your character during fighting sequences allowing you to improvise multiple ways to kill bad guys is a real step forward, I hope this is used in future story games. I like the spying, hacking, eves dropping to get the necessary intel to progress the game. But beyond that the puzzle solving is pretty simple. It would be cool if future titles like this were more open allowing Bond to infiltrate places with different methods either by stealth, spy craft or more varied parkor elements such as grappling hooks and zip lines etc. It was quite difficult to feel much sympathy for any of the characters unlike titles like The Last Of Us. A bit more human emotion rather than detached soundbites would make the game feel more grounded. They did it with the Daniel Craig films but missed the mark slightly here. The vehicle elements were really enjoyable although more car chases with higher stakes would have been good. In conclusion, the game has some good elements that I enjoyed but there was just a little bit missing to me it a true classic that I would like to come back to once I finished the story. But this is has great potential for future sequels.

Masterpiece. Perfect blend of action and stealth and sizzle. Finished the game in 15 hr's. Every moment was enjoyable. Waiting for 007 first light 2.

The story and setting is very good. The first chapter has some strong Uncharted vibe, but slows down significantly after that. Pacing is a bit too slow, there's also too much infiltration, too much close quarter combat. Not saying infiltration is not good, but it's getting tiring very fast, it slows down pacing and the "opportunities" left for infiltration feel unnatural. Towards the end I just want to finish and leave it aside.

Let’s be entirely honest: if you strip away the 007 logo, the licensed music, and the Walther PPK, 007 First Light is a remarkably mediocre, generic action game.I’m genuinely baffled by the glowing praise this game is receiving. It seems like a massive case of "franchise starvation"—we haven't had a major Bond game in over a decade, and everyone is so desperate for one that the bar has dropped through the floor. Add in the immense goodwill critics have for IO Interactive after the Hitman trilogy, and it feels like people are reviewing the studio’s reputation rather than the actual game on the **** you went into this expecting the brilliant, open-ended sandbox freedom that IO is famous for, you are going to be severely disappointed. Here is why the "masterpiece" narrative doesn't hold up under actual scrutiny: 1. Heavily Scripted, "On-Rails" Boredom - The game sacrifices mechanical depth for cinematic choreography. It is aggressively linear and filled with restrictive scripting. When a spy game forces you through rigid Quick-Time Events (QTEs) just to handle basic narrative moments, it ceases to be an engaging stealth experience and becomes a playable movie. 2. Zero Stakes or Real Challenge - A great espionage game relies on tension. You should feel like an elite agent operating on a razor's edge. Instead, Bond can essentially stroll through high-security facilities with virtually no friction or threat. The AI is flat, the action feels entirely unrealistic, and the pacing is completely halted by clunky mechanics—like a combat system that forces you to wait for enemies to show "intent" before you can react naturally. 3. A Sci-Fi Identity Crisis - Bond works best when it's grounded in high-stakes, classic espionage. First Light veers way too far into generic tech-thriller/sci-fi territory with its focus on the THEIA supercomputer. It feels less like Ian Fleming or Casino Royale and more like a futuristic sci-fi shooter that lost its identity. 4. Check-The-Box Branding - The classic Bond staples are entirely skin-deep here. The Q-Lab feels uninspired and lame, giving you glorified keys for specific doors rather than clever gadgets that alter how you play. Worse, the "love interests" are completely hollow, dropped into the narrative without an ounce of chemistry just to tick a box on a developer checklist that says: "Look, it’s a Bond game!" Final Verdict007 - First Light isn't a broken, buggy disaster, which is why it's getting safe, lazy passes from supporters. But being polished and shiny doesn't make it good. It is a shallow, rushed, on-rails experience that trades rewarding gameplay for cinematic window dressing. It’s an okay generic action game, but it is a terrible Bond game. Don't let the hype train fool you.

Visually is not too impressive and it has some pacing issues, especially at the very first few hours, but when the game truly picks up, it delivers some really sublime action sequences, nice bosses battles, neat mechanics and a really engaging plot and characters. Not my GOTY, but it's up there among the bests of this year. It's very enjoyable overall and a great foundation for future 007 games.

I had a blast (just completed Knightfall mission). The whole game is designed to make you feel as if you are Bond earning his license to kill (which he does do some of). Stealth, action, wit and some really cool level design along with a soundtrack that just evokes Bond throughout. Last time I played Bond was with Night Fire, and this takes it beyond in every way.

This game is so meh. The first two hours were some of the most boring hours I have ever spent gaming. It gets better after that, but it's never great. It's just not much fun to play. They give you very little free will. Also, the graphics are not impressive for a game in 2026. Sound and music were also just OK. If you love James Bond then go for it, otherwise there are better games to play.

Arguably the best Bond game ever made. This is likely to become my new favorite game series. The gameplay, in particular, turned out really well. Please, more of this.

James Bond, actually my first game with this character, and I loved it! The acting, the scenery, the action, the cast, everything was great in this game! Also from the setting it is fresh, getting a young Bond here, I liked it! Normally a 10 here, but the game makes it too easy. Every hint you get for something you may need is given on your HUD, so no big deal to get the needed keys or whatever...that was my only "bad" thing, that it is too easy. But all in all, great time I had and I will replay it again with different approaches.

Game thus far has been okay. However it needs to be pointed out that in a game based on the British Intelligence literally 90% of the main characters are a person of colour. It is just stupid how you’re walking around MI6 and Bond is one of very few white people. It’s so bad it doesn’t make any logical sense. It sadly echoes the times we are living in.

007 First Light is a great game (on PS5 Pro) that handles really well. I played through the story on easy difficulty and had no major issues with the missions or gadgets. The mix of Hitman-style gameplay combined with Uncharted elements and some shooting sequences is a lot of **** constant “No ammo” issue annoyed me at the beginning, but it also forced me to change my approach and actually use the gadgets and abilities. Once you get the hang of it, those abilities are genuinely enjoyable. There were only a few moments where I got stuck — the levels are clearly structured. The story was fun too; you quickly get into it and immediately know who’s a friend and who’s an **** controls are very precise, with the exception of the vehicles. The vehicle sections are less fun — thankfully they’re very short — and feel rather boring due to the clunky handling.Overall, I’m very satisfied. The length of the missions felt just right for what the game offers. I’d much rather have a slightly shorter but well-polished experience than unnecessary filler missions that just feel like a grind. I will definitely buy a sequel.

The game is "pretty good." My score is entirely for gameplay, but the visuals, voice acting, story, and so on, are all good to great. Bond's VA especially. But the gameplay... 1. Definitely nails the spy/espionage feel with the gadget mechanic. Gadgets involve resource management, which is great for combat but can be an unnecessary hinder to the spy puzzle solving when you've got to run around looking for charge/chemicals. A minor nuisance, but when the game gives you recharging resources it makes me think, "This would feel so much better as the norm..." 2. Combat is lacking though. In melee, parries are not satisfying or worth it because you only get the counter on the last hit, unless the enemy finishes with a grab in which case you cannot parry at all. Therefore.. just dodge all attacks/grabs and punish with your combos. The game gives you lots of options, but when dash attack, punch, gut punch, grab+slam either finishes or grants a takedown opportunity, it becomes repetitive. 3. Personally don't care much for the range of guns but the game not only gives you bullet time but also aim assist (even on "hard"). Not only that, you can just run around and enemies have very poor accuracy. I get that Bond films are full of action but some moments feel like a generic shooter game on easy. Ultimately I had a good experience (despite it being quite buggy, experiencing a soft lock, crashes, and minor bugs but I'm forgiving a new release from a smaller developer) and would be open to the next Bond game hoping they make improvements. It was rather short though, about 15 hours.

I really wanted to like this game but from the start I was disappointed. It is NOT next-gen by a mile. Everything looks blocky and fake. even the cutscenes (which account for a good 30-40% of this game) look terrible. The controls are clunky at best. The game is buggy. I had 2 hard crashes and a good 4-5 times where the character was stuck in place and could not be moved (had to restart the game to get by this). The driving is stupid, all you need to do is hold R2 down and it drives itself around. The game is also a good $40 more than it's worth.

A disappointing and frustrating game. Mediocre gameplay... Mediocre graphics, weak story... Poor narrative sense... Bad dialogue... Loose ends. Characters that feel thrown together and lack charisma... Even 007 himself doesn't have enough charisma.
The plot is fragmented... In addition to abrupt chapter transitions for a narrative-focused game. Mediocre puzzles... Uninteresting, the espionage aspect leaves much to be desired. An extremely short game. For the price charged. Simple mechanics... And unbalanced combat. The plot and story are very weak. The constant need to portray James Bond as a "ladies' man" makes no sense within the narrative. Many characters are forgotten by the plot... Too many loose ends... Chapters that don't complement each other well... And dialogues that seem to have been written by robots or beginners. A disappointing game.

First Light is a great introduction to what could become the next generation of James Bond games. It strikes a solid balance between espionage, action, stealth, hacking, and combat, keeping things fresh enough that the gameplay rarely feels repetitive. The story is engaging and does its job well, even if it’s not particularly memorable once the credits roll. One of the game’s strongest aspects is its progression system. The more you play, the more capable both you and Bond become. There’s a satisfying learning curve as you gradually master hand-to-hand combat, close- and long-range gunplay, stealth, and hacking. By the end, you genuinely feel like a skilled 00 agent who knows exactly what he’s doing. My biggest criticism is the level design. While the mission-based sandbox stealth/action game approach offers plenty of freedom within each mission, I often found myself wishing the game felt a little more open. Some environments can feel surprisingly restrictive and even a bit claustrophobic at times. Expanding the scale and giving players more room to approach objectives creatively would be a great step forward for future entries. That said, this is an incredibly promising start for IO Interactive’s new Bond franchise. Here’s hoping they get to keep their license to kill and continue building on this foundation in the next game.

Started out promising. Favorite designs of the game were the cinematic aspect and sound. The "hitman" gameplay wasn't my cup of tea though. I really didn't like how you can't dash for cover. The fighting, stealth, and gadgets got really old after playing for awhile. The farther I got in the game, the less I enjoyed. There was a lot of unrealistic moments that happened in the cutscenes as well as gameplay that took me out of the experience. The action isn't as good as Uncharted or Tomb Raider. This is more of a stealth game. I also didn't find the plot very interesting. Game seems really overhyped as "the best Bond game since Goldeneye".

Look, it's a damn good game. It is quite Hitman like, but it does have action, alot of shooting, and probably the best Bond storyline since Skyfall. I'm sure a sequel is capable of more, but if you want the best Bond game ever - yes, better than Goldeneye you nostalgic people (I'd say Everything Or Nothing was the best before this) - here it is. You can stealth, deceive, and shoot your way to the end, just like Bond would. It feels like an extended movie which is what we should have realistically expected. A few parts are a bit tedious, but overall it's great quality. Definitely worth buying for Bond fans that can game to a degree!

007 First Light is undoubtedly a fantastic game. The melee combat is very polished, and the way it adapts to the environment is very satisfying. On the other hand, the shooting didn't completely win me over, but that doesn't mean it was bad. The story was also quite good; at no point did it feel rushed or like filler. The stealth is beautiful, very well implemented alongside the mechanics, and personally, I always preferred to go for the silent approach. The game's length seems perfect to me; the soundtrack is excellent, the mission areas are very detailed, and the graphics are gorgeous. James Bond's charisma and charm create a strong connection with all the characters you encounter (including him, obviously). Furthermore, the way you interact with the environment (specifically with NPCs) makes the experience more fluid. His animations and facial expressions are some of the best I've ever seen, and I was delighted with them. There's nothing to complain about with this game, and it's definitely one of my favorites.

007 First Light ReviewIntroductionJames Bond is a name that many gamers haven't heard in quite some time. In fact, it's been nearly 14 years since the last major James Bond game release in 2012. For those of us who grew up during the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation era, that's hard to believe. There was a time when it felt like a new Bond game arrived almost every ****, IO Interactive, the studio best known for the Hitman franchise, has accepted the mission of bringing the world's most famous secret agent back to gaming. But does 007 First Light successfully capture the magic of classic Bond games, or does it fall short of its target?Let's find out.StoryIn 007 First Light, players step into the shoes of a young James Bond before he becomes the legendary agent known as 007. Bond begins his journey serving in the Royal Navy, but during a mission, disaster strikes when his helicopter is shot down. As the sole survivor, Bond must fight his way through hostile territory and find a path to safety. While navigating the enemy camp, Bond receives assistance from Moneypenny, who guides him through the extraction process. Following his rescue, he is recruited into MI6's newly re-established Double-0 Program, beginning his transformation from an inexperienced soldier into one of the world's most skilled spies.Training plays a significant role in the early portion of the game, introducing players to Bond's future colleagues and mentor, Greenway. The training sequences feel like something straight out of an action movie, complete with montage moments reminiscent of classic films such as Rocky. It's entertaining, well-paced, and does an excellent job of establishing Bond's **** of the standout training missions places Bond in a nightclub where he must identify and make contact with a target among a crowd of agents. It's here that the game truly begins to embrace the spy fantasy, allowing players to utilize gadgets, deception, and intelligence gathering. However, once Bond enters the field on his first official assignment, things quickly spiral out of control. What begins as a routine operation evolves into a much larger conspiracy, forcing Bond to uncover dangerous secrets and prove that reviving the Double-0 Program was the right **** story delivers plenty of twists, memorable characters, and exciting set pieces while providing a compelling origin story for one of fiction's most iconic agents.GameplayTo make things easier, I'll break gameplay into five categories:• Shooting• Navigation and Stealth• Gadgets• Close-Quarters Combat• DrivingShootingPrior to release, I had heard mixed opinions regarding the game's shooting mechanics. Some early impressions described them as merely average. After experiencing them myself, I completely disagree.Unlike action-heavy franchises such as Uncharted, Gears of War, or even some previous Bond games, 007 First Light does not rely on constant gunfights. Instead, combat encounters occur at specific moments and trigger what the game calls "License to Kill" sequences.During these encounters, Bond moves in and out of cover while engaging enemies in cinematic firefights. Environmental destruction plays a major role, allowing players to shoot explosive barrels, gas tanks, and pipelines. By activating Bond's Q Watch, players can identify environmental hazards and opportunities.Several combat abilities add depth to firefights. Bullet Time returns, slowing down time and allowing players to line up precise shots. Shooting enemies in the hands can disarm them, while leg shots cause them to stumble, creating opportunities for melee takedowns.Ammunition is intentionally limited, encouraging creativity. One of my favorite mechanics is being able to throw an empty weapon at an enemy, stunning them long enough to close the distance and finish them with a melee **** shooting may not be constant, but when it happens, it's exciting, satisfying, and highly cinematic.Navigation and Stealth007 First Light is a third-person action-adventure game, meaning players will spend a significant amount of time climbing, traversing environments, and exploring mission areas.Bond's movement feels very similar to Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series, and honestly, that's not a bad thing. Movement is smooth, responsive, and enjoyable throughout the **** game also provides multiple ways to approach objectives. If players prefer a more direct approach, they can use Instinct Points to bluff their way past guards by posing as authorized personnel. Instinct Points are earned through stealth actions, intelligence gathering, and eavesdropping on conversations.Alternatively, players can lure enemies away from patrol routes, perform stealth takedowns, or create distractions using objects such as radios and vacuum **** variety of options allows missions to feel flexible and rewards players for approaching situations creatively.GadgetsThis is where 007 First Light truly shines.

Many collisions bugs. Floaty controls both for fighting and driving. Take too much from AC, Watch_Dogs, Hitman and Uncharted while being inferior to their core mechanics, most of them are over 10 years old. The tutorial is way too long and boring.

I've almost finished this dull 007 First Light. The more I play, the more I realize what an average game it is. If I weren't playing it on an account where I'm hunting for platinum trophies, I would have dropped it already.
I don't feel like a 007 agent at all. The main character doesn't have any charisma whatsoever, which makes it hard to connect with him. The locations are incredibly boring, and even the ones that could have been interesting are presented in the most uninspired way possible.
Honestly, I don't understand where all these high review scores and positive reactions are coming from. And I'm definitely not the only one who feels this way.
That's without even mentioning the mediocre graphics.

WOKE GARBAGE for braindead people, if you like this game you are contributing to the destruction of the gaming industry, those who give an upvote to this game clearly do not have a functioning brain or are paid bots.

The dry spell is finally over! After what felt like an eternity of mediocre releases and disappointing titles in the industry, we finally got a game that delivers on every front. 007: First Light is an absolute masterpiece and a breath of fresh air. It respects the legacy of James Bond while introducing modern, thrilling gameplay. If you’ve been waiting for a truly great game to sink your teeth into, this is it. Highly recommended!
