Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced

It's a real pleasure to return to a true Assassin's Creed. I should clarify that this is the first time I've actually completed Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Back in the day, I never finished the original. With that said, I have to say I absolutely loved revisiting a classic entry in this franchise, one that cleverly manages to combine the best aspects of both the early Assassin's Creed games and the more recent ones. From a gameplay perspective, it's incredibly fun. The gameplay variety is outstanding. Normally, I'm not much of a completionist when it comes to video games, but with Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, I spent more than 45 hours completing the main story because I ended up doing almost all of the side missions, forts, ship upgrades, and more. I was hardly ever bored. Capturing a fort, destroying its defenses, and storming it alongside your crew is almost as satisfying and immersive as the game's major story missions, which once again make you feel like a true Assassin—eavesdropping on conversations, gathering clues, eliminating targets from hiding spots, or using courtesans to follow a Templar. The open world is simply perfect. It's neither overwhelmingly huge nor too small, offering just the right amount of activities. More importantly, those activities are genuinely enjoyable. Even treasure hunting becomes a pleasure as you're immersed in tropical jungles crafted with incredible attention to detail and bustling settlements full of life. Graphically, this game is an absolute powerhouse. I can say, with very little hesitation, that this is probably the most beautiful video game I have ever seen. As for the narrative and the main story... I loved returning to the conflict between Assassins and Templars. Many people complained that Edward doesn't become an Assassin until the very end of the game, but that hardly mattered to me. I adored Kenway's story, his character development, and the reasons that ultimately drive him to become the man he does. I did feel that some of the supporting characters could have benefited from a bit more development; with a little extra care, some of them might have ended up being even more compelling than the protagonist himself. The downside? The reason this game doesn't earn a perfect 10 from me is because it's riddled with bugs. They're often quite frustrating and frequently break both the gameplay and the immersion. It's a real shame, honestly, but Ubisoft doesn't seem to be improving in this area. I hope some of these issues are fixed through patches, although certain flaws are rooted in the game's design itself and don't appear likely to be addressed. Ubisoft, please bring this franchise back to its former glory. I truly hope we'll be treated to another great Assassin's Creed like this one in the future. A brand-new entry, perhaps? Although, if they ever remake the Ezio Trilogy, they would have me completely sold.

A Shameful Remaster, Far Below What This Masterpiece Deserved. The 4K resolution and some graphical improvements are certainly appreciated, but the unstable 30 FPS, the rather unbearable bugs already present in the original version, and numerous additional technical issues do little more than expose 2K's shortcomings. For a game as beloved and influential as *Mafia II*, this remaster feels disappointingly low-effort. Instead of delivering the definitive version that fans deserved, it ends up being a technically flawed release that fails to do justice to the quality of the original game.

A Slightly Forgotten Masterpiece. Yes, at first glance it may seem like just another mafia game, but this one is special. Judged within the technical and gameplay limitations of its time, *Mafia II* is a masterpiece and one of the finest action-adventure games of the last twenty years. It has everything you could want from a mafia story: memorable characters, great plot twists, lessons about loyalty, betrayal, and the cycle of violence, as well as a soundtrack you'll never forget. Even today, it's an incredibly fun game, filled with amazing and often hilarious missions and situations. Its open world is packed with impressive details, the police AI easily surpasses that of many other open-world games, and the gunfights, while somewhat clunky by modern standards, remain satisfying and challenging. It's true that, even by the standards of its time, the character movement feels somewhat clunky and simplistic. The driving, which aims for realism, can be frustrating at times, and there are quite a few technical issues that slightly break immersion and can occasionally become genuinely annoying. Even so, I disagree with some of the reviews from the time that dismissed it as a boring or overly simplistic game. It's a shame that 2K never managed to make another *Mafia* game quite like this one—so polished, thrilling, and rich with possibilities. Fortunately, it has aged remarkably well and remains just as enjoyable today as it was when it first released.

A masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Don't let anyone fool you—Red Dead Redemption 2 is the better game, but experiencing John Marston's story is an absolute must. The gameplay is fun, the missions are memorable, and the narrative is excellent, supported by a cast of characters that have become truly iconic.

A good game. Its strongest point is its narrative. It's not perfect, and I highly doubt I'll remember it forever, but its characters are charismatic and keep you engaged right up to an ending that, while somewhat predictable, still leaves you satisfied. The missions are fun, with a few that are genuinely memorable, although the gameplay mechanics can feel a bit clunky and repetitive, starting to show their age. Technically, it's a gem, featuring impressive graphics and very few bugs. Overall, it's a game that lived up to my expectations.

A game with fun and even innovative gameplay for its time that, unfortunately, is not supported at all by its narrative, which falls somewhat short. I encountered some quite frustrating bugs that seriously hurt immersion. As always, Ubisoft could have taken advantage of this opportunity, but once again they let it slip away.

A forgotten gem that was overshadowed by the release of GTA V. Its gameplay is incredibly fun and innovative, surpassing many sandbox and action games even today. An open world without thousands of icons cluttering the map, full of life and visually impressive for its time. This could easily be considered a 9 out of 10, or even a perfect 10, if it weren't for its rather weak narrative.

Gratamente sorprendido. Aún siendo un juego para niños, los desarrolladores han sabido como crear un videojuego para todos los públicos y fans del metaverso. Divertido, técnicamente impecable y una narrativa muy aceptable teniendo en cuenta que no deja de ser un juego de LEGO.
