Bad dialogue, bad gameplay, bad everything. It's just not good at all. I can't think of a single redeeming feature this game has. The companions are insufferable leftist stereotypes (they even made a russian black), 90% of the npcs are ugly indians/black with melted faces. The story makes zero sense. The gameplay is identical to fallout 4's but worse: half the guns, no vats, garbage.

I don't know why this is so addicting. You can treat it as a casual game and just watch the funny numbers go up while you place down monkeys, or you can read 30 page articles about how you need to sacrifice x amount of monkeys for the perfect hero monkey in order to beat a boss and if you miss one step you might as well restart the entire thing. The choice is entirely up to the player.

Magnificent RPG, one of the best I've ever played. Great reactivity. Good combat which isn't great only because of how long the animations take, making some big fights an annoying slog. Good story (I'm in act 2) with clear replayability. The **** body types/vitiwhatever should have been skipped in character creation because it is woke and cringe, but this is counter balanced by the only **** in the game being shoved into a circus where it belongs.

Had to e-mail metacritic to get them to take this off of early access so I could review it, heh. Anyways - this is one of my favorite deckbuilding "rogue-lite" games. I've seen a lot of people say it's hard but it's actually one of the easiest ones I've ever played. Much easier than say... Darkest Dungeon or Iratus: Lord of the Dead, both of which I've played. It's all about minimizing your card deck so you have ~15 cards (the smallest your deck can be) all of which are effective. In fact, the game goes out of its way to handhold you early on - giving you rewards you can spend on your next run even if you lose the previous one, based on your score. Once you actually beat the game and turn on Madness (higher difficulty modifiers) is when the game actually begins, as far as I'm concerned. Since from there on you can't use the free gold/shards you gained from previous runs, and it all comes down to just how well you've built your deck and how well you know the encounters. I'm rating it an 8, but that's liable to go up with the expansion. It needs MORE content and MORE areas. But as this is an indie game made by a handful of people and only $20, it's more than understandable. Overall, I highly recommend it.

This game is relatively (it's an RPG, so it's still a doozy) short, but was clearly meant to be played several times. I love the unique setting, the writing was... okay (there was no reason to have the INCREDIBLY out of place lezbos in Lethian's Crossing just so you could have lesbians in your game, obsidiots). There was also more than one occasion of a character talking to me about another character that I had not only not met, but WHO HAD NOT EVEN BEEN MENTIONED as if I was supposed to know who they were. The combat mechanics were somehow more annoying than poes. Also, there should have been UI scaling. I have a 4k monitor, and I had to set my resolution lower because I could barely see the buttons. Lastly the companions have neat portraits but they use the same ugly low budget 3d model they use for generic npc #3513 when you're talking to them, for no reason I can discern.

The slavic "humor" probably won't be for everyone, but I can see people getting annoyed that the game doesn't take itself very seriously at all. For me however, that was definitely part of the charm. It's a survival game, but for the life of me I have no idea why the food or water meters were included. You find more than you'll ever need constantly. Someone called it 'subnautica in space' and while that's somewhat accurate as far as gameplay goes, the ORIGINAL (subnautica 2 is garbage) subnautica had a much more compelling story, I think.

Played it on full release. It's a very relaxing "survival" (it is not hard to survive at all) game. You chill out on your raft, making it larger and more like a floating home. There's a background story to complete, but to be honest it's not very interesting and the villain is very sunday cartoon-esque. People who enjoy building stuff while calmly floating around will enjoy it. My one complaint is that the sound track needed more variety.

You know, I played this for maybe 15 hours, and I will never touch it again. A total waste of $50. So you're probably wondering why I'm giving it a 5. It's pretty simple - The game itself is incredibly polished, I didn't see a single bug. Had no server problems on release. It hits all boxes on the MMO checklist. Yet for all of that, it's incredibly boring. It has nothing going on for it, is totally unoriginal, and once you've spent a dozen or so hours playing, you've probably seen everything there is to be seen. In fact, I can confidently say if you have EVER played another MMO in your life - you have no reason to play this game. It is as generic as generic gets. If you you looked up 'generic mmo' in the dictionary, it would be a picture of New World. All in all, a very well made game with no glaring issues aside from the fact that it is a total snooze fest. A 5 for effort, if nothing else.

Much improved on its predecessor in multiple ways, Jeff hit it out of the park with this remake. While I actually prefer some of the exile games to some of the avernum ones (after the re-remake of avernum 1, this is no longer the case) that can't be said with his first geneforge re-master. Better graphics, better gameplay. The only downside is that my previous strategy of suicide bombing via creations is kind of pointless, even on harder difficulties. Finally got around to playing this ages after playing Odyssey AND Valhalla. You can really tell they were new to the whole "rpg elements" thing with this release. Unlike Odyssey, the side quests were so bland that after a while I just stopped doing them and sped through the main quest. It also felt like there was a lot less progression via the skill tree than there was in odyssey. However, the combat was actually somewhat more enjoyable, for one reason: There was no skill that let you assassinate out of stealth like odyssey. Once you got that, it was just run around in circles and wait for it to recharge before finishing up whatever boss mob you were dealing with. Good game, but not great. Odyssey is a MUCH improved version of origins. Valhalla is.... a very, very slightly improved version of Origins.

I don't understand the bad scores or the great ones. This game is average at best. It has optimization problems, but I'm running it just fine on a 1060 card (I saw someone with a 3080 saying they couldn't run it?!?). It has an interesting death mechanic which is nothing short of either irritating or hilarious depending on how capable you are of planning. If you die, you lose everything - but more importantly, you get an EXP debt to however much exp you gained up until that point. If you're high level and you were 1% away from leveling up, it will make you want to throw your keyboard at a wall. if you're ANY level but had 0% towards the next level, the death penalty... isn't a penalty at all. I'm sure you can see how easily such a thing could be abused. I'm still playing it, but so far the progression system seems rather pointless. I'm maybe 3-4 missions away from unlocking the last one, but I've found zero reason to make any building past tier 2 wood or craft any tools past iron. The only threatening animals are bears, which can usually be run past. There are also more than a few bugs that still need to be fixed. The most glaring of which shows up in most missions that require you to 'survey' an area. What can make these missions difficult is that when your survey machine starts up, it summons waves of animals. However, if you build ANYTHING around the survey machine... nothing spawns. Nothing at all. Which means any mission can easily be cheesed by placing down a few floors and walls. I'm enjoying it so far, but I give it an average score because it just doesn't come together as well as it should. The devs should take notes from ARK's progression system if they want to see how meaningful progression works. A lot of the unlocks you simply don't NEED.

The (likely paizo forced) pozzed characters at the start get what they deserve if you go on the demon path, and most of the cringe gay stuff can be ignored if you just don't take certain companions with you (he's the worst one anyways). Overall a great rpg, even if it's abundantly clear that the Azata mythic path was the writer's pet. The late game paths (gold dragon/swarm/devil) feel bereft of content by comparison.

Terrible story, the music/ambient sound is much worse than the first one (guess they shouldn't have fired their original sound guy for suggesting hiring people based on skin color was racist). No sense of dread and you have to put up with an awfully voiced protagonist for the entire game. They also replaced the AI voice with a new AI voice that has a terrible accent for... no real reason, apparently. It was equally painful to listen to. Why does the AI have a fake accent? Why WOULD one? Amusingly in regards to the story, they have apparently reworked it completely from what it was originally was due to complaints. If this is the revamped storyline, I'd hate to see the original, because the new one is still trash. You get the endgame vehicle near the start of the game, and the game itself is a lot SMALLER than the original. Probably because they added more land... in a game about sea exploration. Geniuses, the development team is not. Forget sequel, I wouldn't even call this a decent expansion. I deleted this game several hours after pirating it. 1 point for pretty graphics.

A shining example of how Bioware used to make great games. The story is thrilling with good pacing, and your companions (with two exceptions, the human ones) are likeable or at the very least not dull. Good game but I didn't enjoy it as much as PoE1. 90% of the quests happen around one hub city, and 90% of the other "dungeons" consist of (admittedly pretty) one to two rooms on a single floor. The story didn't flow very well either, and while the faction system was entertaining, none of them were remotely likeable. The new party members were okay, but Eder and Aloth were the most enjoyable companions. The new ones didn't really compare to old favorites like Durance or Sagani. Xoti and Maia were.. okay. The rest of them were either bland or bad. The only one that might have been more interesting was confined to a companion role with no real story (some elf undead woman). The main quest also feels incredibly rushed. It's basically four missions and the final "boss fight" is a quick check list of questions and then the credits are rolled. It's a good RPG, but it's not a great one. Thaos was a much better villain than Eothas was. The latter comes off like a spoiled child who's smashing things because no one else will let him have his way, and yet his fellow gods wont intervene for reasons that are never really clear despite hitting him with a magic nuke the last time he tried to pull this. Despite attempts to handwave their inaction away, Woedica repeatedly makes it clear that they could stop him, they just wont because...reasons? I liked PoE2, but I didn't love it. By the way Sawyer, if you're reading this and still confused why it didn't sell as well as the first one - it's because of bad marketing. I didn't even know a second one had ever released until years later when it popped up as being on sale on steam.

I beat it on casual once, almost on hard (made it all the way to enbarr and got stuck because it put my death knight killer on the wrong side of the map) once, and hopefully on hard this run. I hope to do maddening on my 4th. The characters are largely fun, with a few being one dimensional and boring but that's par for the course for this genre. With well over a dozen characters you're not going to like everyone. I enjoyed the story more than awakenings, and something something dragons something something. If you've played a fire emblem game you know what I mean. The mechanics are hard to judge because I am complete trash at turn based combat games like this. I didn't even realize you could swap out abilities until my second run. Maybe it's difficult, maybe it isn't. Play it and find out for yourself.

Good game, not as good as Rise of the Tomb Raider but still pretty enjoyable. I rushed through it because I played the second one first and wanted to get to the third game... the tombs are almost entirely optional, so I only did a few, not that there were many to begin with. Story was neat, unlike the second game this one has more of a fantasy twist than scifi. A good first person adventure game, I recommend it. If you like it, you'll enjoy the second one even more - as it improves on the first in every single way. Downsides: The side characters who aren't lara are all extremely irritating. Fortunately, you don't interact with them much at all. I figured out who was going to betray me before the end of the game in the PROLOGUE. Geeze. Combat can be a bit janky. Probably only noticeable if you've played the second one, which was much more smooth. In hindsight, if you play the games out of order, Lara's freakouts in the second game over murdering someone make zero sense. I've played several assassin's creed games before this one. I put them all down within an hour or two in disgust at how boring, bland, and repetitive they were. This one.. I've put 70 hours into it, and beat it. It was loads of fun. A fun story set in ancient greece, this entry rightly jettison's most of the stupid animus stuff from the previous games (I spent maybe 5-10 minutes not running around as the ancient greek hero). Oh you're still jumping around roofs, hiding in bushes, and assassinating guys in forts... but the combat is actually fun for a change. You CAN fight people outside of stealth battles and win. It flows quite nicely and on nightmare can actually be challenging at points (I only had to set my difficulty back to normal at a few different points in the game over 70 hours). Some people mention a grind and online store, but I never really saw any of it. Doing the gold quests (the non-generic, non-procedural generated ones that have actual unique content) will get you all the xp you need to progress to the next area. You play as a greek mercenary and part-time demigod (that part comes later) who's trying to reconnect with her families. How you do that is up to you. On the way you find out that the **** templ-I mean cultists are manipulating everything in the background, in fact, they're entirely responsible for the current war going on. It's up to you to stop them while running around killing bandits and boars and upgrading your ship. A few things keep this game from being truly great. First off, the optimization - it's terrible. This game looks slightly worse than the witcher 3, and runs twice as badly on my PC. Ubisoft needs to optimize their games better, this was simply unacceptable. Secondly, the end of the story is complete trash. Without spoiling anything, a character manages to live for 1,000+ years only to kill themselves after 'passing over the mantle' of things... what, they couldn't spare an hour or two to expound a little bit on what they did and what the character they were passing over things to should do? There was no rush in this scenario, it was simply mind boggling. Thirdly, the animus crap. Why is it necessary? You can include the scifi aliens without the animus nonsense. Maybe there's something in the previous games that explains it, but it's a garbage way to tell a story and I will never play those games - because they are badly. Lastly, what I said previously ties into some of the greeks being black for literally no reason. I imagine it was put in there for the same reason the game tells you there was a 'multicultural team' working on AC odyssey before you even get to the start menu - to pointless virtue signal over the fact that the team is composed of leftist mental **** (and, as a quick google search shows - 99% of them are white guys, very diverse, much multikult). This didn't detract from gameplay (well the black "greeks" did) but made me cringe and was ****.

I'd be mad if I'd paid actual money for it instead of gotten it for next to nothing on a massive steam sale that included every tomb raider game ever made for 40 bucks (I probably spent a couple of cents on each dlc if anything).

The open world is great, the graphics are pretty, the writing is unmitigated trash. The two good parts about the game mentioned above are ruined by the HORRIBLE fps drops. Why is this even on consoles if they can't optimize it to work? I didn't think they'd be able to replicate RDR 1, and I was right, but it's still sad.

Full Disclosure: This is the first Tomb Raider game I have ever played, so I have no comparison to previous games. That being said, I enjoyed it very much. The story and plot play out too predictably, the platforming could be frustrating, and the combat quickly got repetitive - but it all came together so well no one part was enough to make it anything less than a great game. I do have some minor complaints, though: Extreme Survivor mode is extremely unforgiving, the first two levels where they TEACH YOU THE CONTROLS have ZERO save points. Missed that last jump? Enjoy starting back at the beginning, 15 minutes ago. Fortunately I got the hang of them pretty quickly, where the first level took me 5-7 tries, the second took me 3. I rarely missed jumps after that. Also Laura seems to get hurt in nearly every cut scene... only to walk it off within 15 seconds. C'mon. The crafting was fun, but pretty bare bones. Once you get the shotgun, none of the animals are even remotely challenging. To avoid being hit by the bear, the most dangerous animal, all you have to do is spam C and then shoot it repeatedly after it swings at you. Rinse and repeat. My last minor quibble is the character Jonah. He was incredibly annoying, but fortunately he's only there for the first and last bits.

Update: Changing this from a 5 to a 7 after the horrible bugs at release that made me rage were fixed. I want to give this game more than a five, I really do. But I can't, and the following is why. 1) Awful optimization and graphics. I have a geforce 550 gtx. Old card, but still a great one. I can run skyrim on max settings, and it looks WAY better than Fallout 4. Try to put Fallout 4 on anything above high (or just turn on "godrays") and the game dies. Everything 10-20 feet away looks cartoony at times. I don't understand why this is happening when, as I said, the game looks worse than Skyrim. Right after I got the power armor I got into a fight with a deathclaw. I failed to blow up some cars near it, and I figured I was dead since it was closing in on me and my gun overheated.... nope. It just ran around in circles 10 feet in front of me. Maybe this is a "feature," though. 3) Keyboard controls, to the point that it almost plays like a bad port. You can hit M to bring up the map, but you have to hit tab to close it. The keys for switching around screens in your pip boy are equally dumb. You have to manually edit ini files just to change mouse settings. 4) The story and writing are meh, but this is Bethesda so I kind of expected that. A voice acted main character is stupid, and so is the mass effect dialogue. I want my lines back where I can actually see what I'm saying before I say it. There are several instances where I wanted to ask a question and ended up starting a fight. Pretty much everything I've listed is fixable, which makes it that much more disgusting that they released the game in this state.

I know this game gets a lot of flack for focusing more on the shooter aspects rather than the rpg ones, but I found the party members more than made up for it. Liara, Miranda, Jack, etc were all fun characters. The story suffers a bit compared to the first game, but the slightly (very) improved gunplay and what I feel is better dialogue makes up for it. The renegade interrupts are hilarious and some of the one liners had me laughing out loud. Probably the last good game Bioware made. For those of you who haven't played Mass Effect 3 that are reading this review: Don't.

I don't know why I keep playing these awful ubisoft games. Far cry primal was garbage, assassin's creed is garbage, why did I think this would be any different? I mean sure the gunplay is fun for an hour or two until you realize you're playing a game with a terrible story and an open world that is filled with nothing but pointless collectibles to grind solely for imaginary achievements. Repetitive garbage like their last dozen games. You'd think they'd work on making good dialogue, filling their open worlds with actual fun things to do, better stories, or even better pacing with the action after they worked out solid gunplay mechanics. Nope, not ubisoft. Here's 1 for the decent shooting mechanics. That's all these games ever have.
