The best part was when I got a nap during a pointless action sequence. I like the acting and characters, but they are hindered by awful dialog. The dialog is anything but subtle and treats the audience like we're all 10 years old and must be told directly exactly what needs to be done. There is nothing left to the imagination. Okay for a popcorn movie, but a snooze.

The best part of the movie was the 10-minute nap I got in the second act when nothing was happening except pointless action. They did okay at making us care about the two plumbers, and I kind of liked that the antagonist had feelings, but I didn't have any reason to care about the princess. I heard kids laughing at times when I cringed at how bad a scene was, so clearly I am not the target audience. Still, with Regal Unlimited, I see a lot of movies, and I can usually find a way to enjoy them. This one, not so much.

Fun, but second half drags so badly that my wife walked out to avoid falling asleep. Otherwise, loads of fun.

I expected an absurd movie, but they went a mile beyond absurd. It was clearly a 2.5-hour long advertisement for a video game. It now takes 3 shots to the head to kill a bad guy. Ribs don't break when rolling down 240 steps--you just have to rest for 15 seconds, then resume as if nothing happened. The story was fine. I liked the ending.

A fun popcorn movie. Kept me engaged start to finish. No complaints. It's not going for any awards, but who cares. It's just fun. They probably saved a lot of money by not doing a bunch of outside CGI shots of the plane, uh, landing.

I loved this movie. It was very well acted, kept me gripped throughout. Ultimately, it left me confused, but that's not unusual.

I waited until I could finish the book before seeing this movie. Sure, they changed the plot around, but the movie did the book justice. Great acting. Tate and Chase (and even Jody) looked too much alike, so it was a little confusing, but otherwise great. Pretty easy to shed a few tears during the show.

Totally "out there" and well worth it! Some is seriously creative to write this. Forget formula. This is something new.

Fun summer popcorn movie, not too challenging. It's a refreshingly humorous take on the superhero genre. The movie never takes itself too seriously, and it succeeds.

Go in with low expectations, forgive the "movie moments" (unrealistic coincidences), forget the ugly insects, grab a popcorn, and enjoy this silly summer movie. I did.

Really enjoyed the complex and slightly disturbing relationship between the main characters. Love the subtle tone to the movie that respects the viewers' intelligence.

This was secretly a Christian movie. I like to know what I'm getting into. The quarterback plays a tough game, and his hair is still perfect, not a drop of sweat on him, never once out of breath in the entire movie. The daughter is invisible, with all the movie's attention directed to the son. They took a good story and made a cringe-worthy movie full of cliches, traditional gender roles, and utterly fake characters, which is ironic considering it based on a true story. Perhaps worst of all is not a single curse word. Football players don't talk trash at all. "Go get 'em, Tiger" is the kind of dialog throughout this movie.

Utterly gripping throughout. One of the most suspenseful movies I've ever seen. Clever how it's put together with very few filming locations, mostly just in a 911 call center. Loved the unexpected ending.

I heard plenty of giggling kids in the theater, so I guess it worked for them. The story is simple and familiar and further reinforces father and mother stereotypes. The entire movie felt like a commercial for Warner. Ugh.

This seems to be designed as a throwaway movie. I was the only person in the 300-seat theater on a Thursday night, so I wasn't disturbing anyone by playing on my phone for half the movie. I didn't care about any of the characters or the puzzles. I had hoped that it was at least a popcorn movie. Avoid it. Not even worth it if you have a free pass.

Suspenseful, interesting plot, possibly even better than the original episode. Cliff hanger, but that's okay.

Loved it. Laughed, teared up, more than I expected. I thought that this movie would feel heavy, maybe be about discrimination. It wasn't like that at all. Highly original, great acting, including the child actors (which is unusual). Recommended!

One of a handful of movies in my life I seriously considered walking out of in the middle. My wife left 1/2 way through, but I stuck it out. I was so bored that good acting and great effects could not compensate for a boring script. I felt no reason to stick it out to the end. I know that it's a pandemic, and I am happy to lower my standards, but this film lacks story, and that is a deal breaker.

It's okay by Covid standards. My expectations were for a fun popcorn movie, not a serious sci-fi movie, and it lived up to that. The story falls short in many ways, but it is not inherently flawed or stupid. Good enough for Covid year!
