LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga6

Just not that great ****, sorry to say. It has all the IP it needs, it has all the mechanics it needs, it has everything it needs; it just doesn't execute. Instead it becomes a point chaser, where you complete the same puzzles over and over and over again. Maybe it plays better for children but as an adult, just doesn't satisfy.

Metroid Dread6

Reminiscent, but modernized. The game is quite hard, but that adds to its value. The maps are huge. Probably the most "adult" game I've played on Switch. Sadly, like most switch games, framerate and performance are an issue for this 2021 game; this game could run better on a PS3. * After beating the game, I'm going to lower the score from a 8 to a 6. I beat it in less than 10 hours and there is no replay value. The game was surprisingly linear and no great appeal to complete finding items as the game was already beaten. Hard mode is of no interest to me. I'd wait for a price drop, this is not a "must play" game.

Absolutely deserves its "must play" label. This is one of the best games I've played in modern history. I've beaten it 40+ times, but still keep coming back for more. The story is beautiful, the art is beautiful, the gameplay is beautiful, the leveling is beautiful, the voice acting is beautiful. Just get it.

Bland and repetitive. I'm playing on hard and have not had a single challenge yet. I feel like the (robust and confusing) character upgrades, armor and weapon customization, and elementals, have little impact on the game. I'm at a point where my character can literally walk around, shock everyone on screen and regain health from that. I slightly dodge, and defeat the "toughest" enemies. My kid likes the hacking and slashing, I'm bored. I can not stand the narration style either, the character says something in the made up language, then the narrator immediately repeats it in English.

I love this game and keep on coming back for more. I've never bought a lootbox, nor do I really care what they do. The depth of modes are amazing, i love the grunts, heroes, and space battles.

Review is for PS4 Pro/PS5. Not a perfect game by any means but the depth, beauty and ambition make it a win for me. I experienced a lot of crashes, like most people, especially while moving fast. The driving is just to get from point a to b (no fun there). The story (especially the endings) is where the game shines. The upgrade system is robust and fruitful. I will be doing another play through. Load times were drastically decreased from PS4Pro to PS5. If I had a PS4 base, I'm not sure I would have rated it the same.

Control: Ultimate Edition8

I really appreciate the creepiness and creativity. I'm about at the end (i think) and am still getting creepy chills. It's not the perfect game but for free (this month on PSN), it's an easy recommendation. The part I do not like are the interactions with the people, they all feel wooden and fake (I hope the ties into the story, for which i have no idea how it's going to end).

Short game, but fun. Good comedic factor, good controls. Probably wouldn't pay more than 10 bucks for it. Easy easy platinum.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales5

It's a very pretty game has good controls, but no sustenance. If you're a fan you know most of the "twists" already. The gameplay is pretty derivative of the last Spiderman game. I hope the DLC brings some of the actual Spiderman villains into play. At this time, the game is just OK.

It's fun, but I found it too easy. I played on hardest mode and only found some of the duels challenging in Act 2. The ghost weapons are all too strong in my opinion. It is one of the few games I've platinumed. That being said, it's really pretty and the art is great. The controls are good. The story is fine, and the game is still quite fun most of the time.

The Last of Us Part II6

It was ok. Gameplay is great, some of the new open world aspects (quickly abandoned) are great, weapons and fighting are great, exploring is great, opening is great. ... So why only 6/10? The story devolves so quickly, the player is pushed into a nonsensical duality motif for which, why ruin the flow of the story and the well established characters with such an unneeded change of pace?
