Minimum effort, maximum profit seems to be the MO at GameFreak and unfortunately this game might be their biggest offender yet. It has the least amount of content of any Pokรฉmon game since the original Red/Blue/Yellow, missing roughly 80% of existing creatures and majority of gameplay staples, while sporting somehow the highest price of admission of any Pokรฉmon game yet (with one of the highly sought after monsters deliberately being put behind a $50 paywall, and the very watered down online features demanding another $20 to be used). Letโ€™s Go also doesnโ€™t do the Nintendo Switch justice in strictly technical terms. In stark contrast to Nintendoโ€™s own blockbusters such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, the 2.5D world of Letโ€™s Go is made of simple, flat textures with terrible lightning and very limited animations, more fitting for a mobile or handheld game than a fully priced console release. Avoid at all costs.

Its a good port that adresses some of the pressing problems of the original. The gameplay is still fun and fast paced and the new characters - Decidueye, Empoleon, Darkrai, Scizor ans Croagunk - are a joy to use. Online battles are usually found in seconds so I often find myself falling for the "just one more match" syndrome. Unfortunately they didnt add any relevant single player content (and the original one is pretty much complete garbage) so I have to slash a couple of points.

This is literally no different than 9000000000000 bejeweled / candy crush clones available on the app store. This particular game also includes an annoying RNG mechanic that sometimes makes you miss out on capturing the enemy Pokemon even if you ace the stage (!). If you played (and got bored of) at least one of those "match 3" games like me you will find 0 entertainment value in Pokemon Shuffle.

Almost a complete copy-paste of 2009 game but with added annoying microtransations. Music, stage structure, character models - everything was copied 1 to 1 from the old Wii game. Oh sorry, there was one new addition - now you don't even have to press any buttons to attack, the game does it for you! Pathetic. So glad I didn't have to pay money for this garbage.

Jack of all trades, master of none. That phrase probably best describes my thoughts when playing Fantasy Life. The game, advertised as a life sim, is actually a simple jRPG with an even simpler story. Fantasy Life's main strength lies in a vast, beautiful game world (by handheld standards) and addicting gameplay (if spite of it's simplicity). Multiplayer (online and wireless) is also surprisingly fun, although the game's niche status means you probably won't get to experience it very often. Unfortunately, major design flaws prevent Fantasy Life from becoming something more than a fun little timewaster. The game supposed major selling point - 12 different character classes (standard ones like paladin or mage, but also woodcutter, miner, cook, tailor etc) - falls flat when you realize most of them are essentially clones. This is especially true for crafting classes like tailor and blacksmith, all of which use the same minigame for creating new items. Another big flaw - questing system, which is the standard kill&fetch fare most of us got bored off ages ago with their MMO of choice. Moreover, the questing rewards are often so pitiful that doing them is simply not worth the player's time. Third and final flaw I'd like to present is music, which is boring at best, and painful to listen to at worst (just search for the Main Menu music on YT to see what I mean). There is also a hefty amount of smaller flaws (like horses terrible controls), but to prevent this text from becoming needlessly long and nitpicky I'd like to end my review here.

A bit on a simple side, but for only 2 bucks (even 1,5 if you got it during a promotion) it is worth giving a shot. Difficulty modes are a bit disappointing, seeing as the only thing that separates normal from hard is the amount of health you start with (the number of enemies etc. stays exactly the same) On a good side art style and music are absolutely excellent, while the stages (with a few hilarious plot twists here and there) are varied enough to keep your interest. A purchase worth considering.

Interesting, but has some glaring flaws. To start off, this game's production value was huge and it shows. The graphics, the voice acting and the music are as close to perfect as it gets. Multiplayer is amazingly fun and easily the best thing about this game, even if it's a little tough to get into (the players are very skilled). Cannot say the same about single, unfortunately. The stages, while beautiful, are way too short, simple and linear. Boss battles are piss easy on anything but highest difficulty settings. I know the same could be said about many games these days, but KI:U really takes it to another level it literally takes between 30-40 seconds to fall a single Boss, which I find to be pretty lame. Get it if you're looking for a fun multiplayer experience, but if you're more of a singles person it is probably better to try something else.

Having never played OoT before, I was in doubt whether such an old game would make any impression on a person looking at it without the nostalgia goggles. Luckily for me, the game more than pulled it is weight! What I love best about this Zelda is how there was absolutely NO HANDHOLDING involved. Player was encouraged to investigate on his/her own, but if you ever felt lost there was always a hint stone nearby to help you find your way. The graphics and music were excellent as always, and the 3D effect was also astounding (sadly it also faded off much easier than in other games for some reason). My only gripe was getting around the map, which was really tedious no matter how you looked at it, especially for the first part of the game. Despite those flaws, Ocarina of Time 3D is 40 hours of pure fun get it, enjoy it, cherish it.

Great price for the amount of content and fun it offers. Final Fantasy fans will obviously love it best, but even those who didn't have a contact with the series (mine was very limited) should have a good time with this game. The graphics are really pretty and utilise the 3D effect very well. The gameplay can be quite hectic, especially on higher difficulties (with Ultimate being an absolute ravage), but that's what keeps it fun in the first place. Tons of different things to collect too, like shards that unlock new characters or items that you can use during the music play. There are, however, a few downsides that prevent me from giving Theatrythm a higher score than I would like. First of all, DLC. There are tons of downloadable songs (over 50), so if you're a hardcore fan of the series expect to pay double the price of the actual software. Then, some of the gameplay elements, while looking good in theory, just fail to pull their weight in practice. OP and ED songs are a massive snoozefest (thankfully skip-able), while the RPG elements, like leveling up your team and equipping it with new abilities, are frankly useless, especially when you consider that going to the battle naked nets you a juicy 2.000.000 point bonus to the final score. Despite those flaws, Theatrythm is probably the best music game I have ever played and I can't recommend it enough. There is a demo version available on the eShop right now, so if you're not sure about the purchase try it out first.

My, my, ArenaNet surely did it's homework in researching "things that every MMO fan seems to want". Beautiful graphics, excellent music, huge open world, no subscription fees - all of that you can find in Guild Wars 2. Too bad that in their pursuit for a perfect MMO formula, ArenaNet forgot to add one critical element to this otherwise perfect equation - fun. No argument for PvP balance can overrule the fact that restricting your class to only a handful of skillsets (as opposed to hundreds in GW1) was an absolutely horrible design choice that doomed the entire experience from the start. The new questing system is also vastly overrated. It really doesn't matter if I have to walk to the NPC or have the quest activated on the go, when it's still the same kill & fetch **** every other MMO has already done to death. Biggest disappointment of the year.

Wonderful! What I like best about this game that it stays true to the "portable" spirit. It's simply perfect for killing time between classes, in a bus, waiting in line for the doctor and the like. While this might make your "casual radar" go wild, make no mistake, MK7 is a very well crafted game with a strong multiplayer feature. Simply seeing the amount of detail put into the tracks makes my heart jump with joy. The racing mechanics are very good; the new gliding feature is super fun and works particularly well with the 3D (Alpine Pass is simply breathtaking). Cart customisation (which affects the way cart behaves) + 16 different characters (17 when you add Mii) allow you to add personal touch to your racing. Overall it's a very solid game that makes for a perfect introduction to a great system that is 3DS.

A game that packs more punch than it would appear on the surface. For the first time in franchise's history, the traditional "third version" feels like an actual new adventure instead of the same experience repackaged. For starters, the dex got massively expanded - a whopping 150 Pokemon (more than ever before) were added to the Unova Pokedex, including fan-favourites such as Growlithe and Eevee. Picking your final 6 of such a massive collection is nothing short of a challenge, and greatly contributes to the series already excellent replayability. The way you progress through the map is also very different - several new zones were added, and on top of that, each of the old zones got nicely redesigned, making them feel fresh. The game is also feels a bit less linear than BW - there are more caves, hidden secrets, more non-obligatory routes and places (like a haunted house). However, several problems, some of which were present in BW1, still remain unsolved. Musicals only "advantage" is that you're not forced to play them this time around. The hyped Pokemon World Tournament is frankly a poor man's Battle Frontier - no amount of fanservice is going to hide the fact that it's a compilation of easy, boring battles that any half-competent player will breeze through in 10 minutes tops. Online service is still mediocre at best - Dream World should only be played by total masochists, Random Match-ups are marred by disconnectors and cheaters, while Global trade station still allows for ridiculous things such as the famed lv.9 Reshiram (not legally obtainable by any means!). Despite this, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 remain a great addition to the DS collection, and a game that hopefully all future "third versions" will follow suit.

One-dimensional, dull gameplay (check number one), simplistic graphics (check two), utterly forgettable plot and soundtrack (check three), unintuitive interface (check f... wait no, that's unacceptable even in mobile games!) - you name it, you have it. However, the game is very addictive when played in short periods (yet another distinctive trait of mobile games), which is why I'm giving it 6. Before I start, I'd like to say I don't get the whole Godot craze. His character seemed forced and superficial and he was incredibly annoying throughout the whole game. Now, for the game - PW:T&T is the standard Phoenix Wright we all got to know (and love) from the previous two instalments. Unfortunately, it introduces even less gameplay changes than JFA (taking control of different attorneys [i.e. other than Phoenix] was a pretty interesting experience though). While it is a nice conclusion to a brilliant trilogy, the plot of T&T doesn't have nearly the same kick as the previous two - the creators put too much emphasis on "drama", and not enough on "comedy", making the story feel really dark at times (whether you consider that a pro or a con is completely up to you of course). Putting my whiny nitpicking aside, PW is still PW, and playing through the whole series should be REQUIRED for all DS owners.

Radiant Historia is one of those rare breeds of jRPGs that manages to have both addictive gameplay AND compelling story. It's a great compromise between games like Final Fantasy, which has a good story, but poor gameplay, and Pokemon, which has a great gameplay, but no story to speak of. The battle system is very refreshing and easy to pick up. The battles are conducted on 6x6 grid, and involve tactics such as area spells, traps, pushing assaults, air assaults and more. In other words, get ready to have your strategic taste buds tickled. As for the story... while one might say it is a pretty standard fantasy fare (be the hero - save the world, hurrdurr), I rank it higher purely by the virtue that it nimbly avoids kitschy pathos that is present in most heroic fantasy books and games. That's not to say that the game's plot is irrational or immature - things like politics, environmental disasters and messianism are hardly child's matter after all. My only complaint, and the point were the developers really dropped the ball, are the graphics. It is really disappointing to see a 2011 DS game look on par with some early GBA titles. Other than that, the game is a treat, a really beautiful treat to us, jRPG maniacs of the world, and I really couldn't recommend it enough. Sleeper hit right there!

I was hesitant to give this game such a high score, and hell it probably doesn't even deserve it, but I simply cannot stress this enough - this is THE best game in the entire ace attorney series, hands down. The best set of characters (Edgeworth!), arguably the best music, much more interactive than the others (actual point and click gameplay, Logic, etc.) and on top of that, funny and witty as hell (not going to give examples to keep this spoiler-free). Cons? Well, the last case drags like hell, but that's about it. Must buy for any DS owner.

One of the few games where I didn't mind that the story overtook the actual gameplay. Actually no, this is the ONLY game where I didn't care about simplistic gameplay at all - the writing was just that great. The game toys with the gamer's emotions with an absolutely masterful arrangement of music and flashy visuals, which not only enrich the story in a very unique way, but make it even BETTER. Did I already mention that Ace Attorney also gives you a set of characters that you can actually give a crap about? Although the game *could* use some better graphics and less down-your-throat linearity, I strongly recommend giving PW:AA a go. It is one of those rare breeds games that will appeal to pretty much everyone, from die-hard FPS fans to RPG stat-junkies.

It is also relatively grindfest-free due to the low level cap, which I find to be a huge plus. While the formula gets a little stale after a while and the plot is nothing to write home about, it is still the best MMO I have ever played. I'm on fence right now whether this game's worth 6 or 7. On one hand, the game has certainly improved since it's first DS instalment. Giant monsters are now a prominent part ****, and can be both defeated and captured. The locations are also a lot better than the last time, even though they can still feel a little empty. Building and leveling your ultimate team is as fun as it's always been, while the graphics are quite nice to the eye. The monster's designs are a mishmash of both cute and badass, and many of them, in their sheer quirkiness, give Pokemon a run for the money (to give you an example, your starter monster is... two mutated peppers skewered on a BBQ spit). And yet, at the same time, the game manages to have an absolute worst plot I have ever seen, so bad that I had to write a sentence about it even though I normally don't give a crap about plot in those type of games. Many gameplay elements are flawed. Scouting (capturing) large monsters is a typical case of fake difficulty, while synthesising has an annoying rule about leveling monsters to level 10. Seriously, what's the point? To artificially bloat my gameplay time? No thanks, I'd rather do something else. Soundtrack was shamelessly cp'ed from the first game, which wouldn't even be that much of a problem if it was actually good. With all things considered, I'm giving this game a 6.5, rounded up to 7. If you're a plot sensitive type avoid this game at all costs. Those interested in a classic jRPG experience, though, should find something to enjoy in DQM:J2.

The best bet I have is that the team that worked on this abomination is NOT the same that worked on HG and SS. But anyway. The entire franchise got so dumbed down with Black and White it's not even funny. Poison not working outside of battle? Region being linear as crap? Gym leaders only ever having 3 Pokemon max? Audinos and Lucky Egg making the game lose ANY traces of challenge it ever had? And that's only scratching the top of a mountain of problems this game has. Truth to be told, the game has some improvements. Mostly minor, and/or completely irrelevant to the franchise as a whole (like a plot) but there are still there. Still, the game left me with a really bad aftertaste (esp. with what they did to the multiplayer...) and that pushed me, a lifelong fan of the franchise, to rate this game with such an average score.

I was sad, genuinely sad, when I finally had to pull the disc with Monster Hunter Tri out off my Wii. It's a very beautiful, demanding and engaging game that will leave you thinking about it loooong after you finish playing it. But why not a perfect score then? Simply put, while single player mode is easily 10/10, the online multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired. Very often I've found the connection to be very wonky and disconnect me at the most random times, sometimes completely preventing me from playing at all. This is especially infuriating, because logging to the servers takes quite a bit of time. Additionally, compared to single, multiplayer offers almost nothing new as far as content is considered. The main draw is 3 exclusive monsters you get to play only online, however, to reach them you will need to do a lot of the EXACT SAME quests you already did offline. That's because multi uses a Hunter Rank system, which raises with the "experience points" you get for finishing quests, which gets as tedious as your average level grinding in any given MMO game. Despite those shortcomings, Monster Hunter Tri is nothing short of amazing and a game that any Wii owner owes him/herself to play. I highly recommend getting a classic controller, though.รข

The graphics and music are very nice, but the constant flashes and explosions HURT the eyes so much that I had to take a break every 1 hour of gameplay. Nevertheless, I played through the entire single player mode and it was rather average. It is a sort-off platformer game where you unlock different characters and collect stuff like stickers. Multiplayer *might* be better, but I personally didn't manage to get out much of it. Online has been completely empty every time I went on, while playing locally with my brother got old very fast (mostly due to the fact that one of us had to use the dreaded Wii Remote). Don't get me wrong, Red and Blue, as well as their sequels Gold and Silver, were fun games. But it wasn't until Ruby and Sapphire that the franchise skyrocketed from "just good" to absolutely amazing. R/S single player adventure is by far the most fleshed out of any Pokemon game, and it involves a rich, non-linear region, tons of secret dungeons, an actual plot (gasp!), interesting set of new characters and an alright difficulty level. However, what made this game a complete winner were various improvements to the broadly defined game performance. From the very high framerate (60 fps), to drastically improved sound and visuals and the completely revamped box system, you simply can't go wrong with Ruby and Sapphire. I could go on like this forever, but the gist of it is, Ruby and Sapphire were (and are) one of the most spectacular GBA ttiles to date - a near-ideal adventure that many of the newer Pokemon games still struggle to match.

Superb platformer game, probably the best one on PSX along with Rayman 2: The Great Escape, Croc 2 and Crash Bandicoot games. Spyro can now gang up with 5 other animals/beasts (a monkey, a yeti, a kangaroo, a penguin and even Sparx!) to solve variety of masterfully designed levels and puzzles. The graphics were excellent for it's time, and the soundtrack, produced by Steve Copeland, is a timeless classic. It's a shame Insomniac have sold the rights to this title and focused on producing generic FPS games instead.

There is something wonderfully magical about that moment when you discover that one of the most enchanting experiences of your childhood is, in fact, also an awesome game of skill. This what the Emerald was for me, a first step into a world of Pokemon battling, a world that is jealously hidden from all but the most dedicated fans. All of this wouldn't be possible if Game Freak didn't step forward with the idea of Battle Frontier. It's basically a place where trainers can test their battling skills in variety of rulesets (7, to be exact). If you succeed, you will earn points for which you can buy prizes that you can use for further improving your team. The best of the best will get to face the Frontier Brains and earn Symbols as a proof of victory. This is quite similar to the badge quest, except much, much more challenging and, consequently, fun. You simply won't succeed if you don't touch upon the complex battle and stat mechanic system of Pokemon games. If you let yourself delve into them, thinking up of effective strategies, carefully training your monsters and testing new teams will soon become your second nature. The rest of the game is mostly the same as (already awesome) Ruby and Sapphire, with a few cosmetic changes like the moving sprites, more focus on Double battles, modified plot and addition of some Johto Pokemon. All in all, Pokemon Emerald is an exceptional addition to the already rich franchise, and is my personal pick for the best video game of all time. Now go dust off your trusty Game Boy Advance and get ready to have 400 hours of your life **** away by pure awesomeness.

Finished playing TWEWY yesterday. I can safely say that this is the single most overrated game I've ever played. No, it isn't BAD, but for the amount of acclaim it receives, I'd definitely expected much, much more. My main grief lays within the combat itself. You collect pins which provide your main character with special powers, like casting a path of flames or striking your opponent with a meteor. Your partner takes the top screen and can be either controlled by CPU or using the D-pad. The battles are conducted in real time. Sounds about good, right? Wrong. The matches are not only extremely boring and repetitive, they also take absolutely 0 brain to play. I button mashed my way to victory from the first day to the last boss included, and this was on HARD difficulty. Don't even get me started on Normal and Easy. The enemies (called The Noise) are of little variety. Well over a half of monster list is hogged by the recolours of the same beasts you have fought at least 3000 times before. There is also a little minigame called Tin Pin Slammer which I guess was added in attempt to prevent the player from falling asleep from boredom. Unfortunately, it is so bad it is almost physically painful to play, and worst of all, the games DOES force you to play it at least a few times during the storyline, and trust me - you will hate it. To keep this review from being a mudsling-fest, the gameplay admittedly does have a few shining points. One good part is the importance fashion plays in this game. Each zone of the Shibuya has trends going in it, which determine how powerful the pins are in the battle. Strong brands have their attack doubled, whereas weak brands - halved. There are also tons of fashion items to buy and collect from the in-game designer shops, which work just like your typical RPG armour and provide additional perks to your character. Next, the plot. If you've read the manga "Duds Hunt", well, TWEWY is basically it, expect toned down to keep the 12+ age rating. Square Enix went a bit overboard with the dialog, but since the characters are fairly likeable you will read through them anyway, if only to learn more about their backstory. The A/V is a bit of a mixed bag. Unlike most DS games (hell, most games in general) TWEWY uses full recorded songs with lyrics. While the idea itself is fresh, the hip-hop / j-pop / j-rock beats might not suit everyone's tastes and there is no way to turn them off. The graphics are in 2D and have aged badly since 2008, but I'm not much **** **** so it didn't matter that much. At the end of the day, TWEWY it's an interesting concept ruined by horrible gameplay. Stay away from it if you value gameplay over story (like you should) and for those looking for a good plot, go to your local book store and buy some good literature.
