Fine. Moments of painful ineptitude, all performances apart from the three main ones are awful and some really painful moments of dialogue. But Mara and Oyelowo sell it both of them giving brilliant performances. I thought it would be much worse.

The most generic film ever made. Robert DeNiro is fine. Anne Hathaway is fine. The film feels an hour too long, the jokes don't work at all and the drama feels forced. Still, I didn't hate it.

The worst animated film in ages. Adam Sandler is annoying as always. The gags don't work, the plot is a mess, the film is annoying to such an extent that it made my eyes bleed.

Holy crap this movie is horrific. Unbelievably awful in every way. The acting is so bad especially by Levitt who gives the worst performance of his career. The CGI is terrible, the wire doesn't even look real. The 3D gave me a migraine. I didn't once feel awe or feel vertigo, I was just bored. Robert Zemeckis is not a good filmmaker and this proves it.

Pretty good. Matt Damon is fantastic in the leading role, there are many moments of genuine humour and it is never boring. But the film wastes its talented supporting cast by crucially underdeveloping them and that is an added shame since the performances by them are all great. The third act felt rushed, the emotional moments never given proper time to breathe, instead shown briefly and then the film moved on. It's a good film but nowhere near as good as the source material.

Beasts of No Nation is spectacular. A harrowing bravado piece of cinematic mastery. Cary **** is a genius auteur as proven by Jane Eyre, Sin Nombre and True Detective Season 1. Here he shows war through the eyes of a child. The film is depressing as hell, the film unrelenting in its depiction of war and violence. Idris Elba is brilliant as The Commandant, the man in control of the child soldiers. The film is a must see.

A modern gothic romance masterpiece. It is an impeccably acted, beautifully shot, soulful piece of art. Guillermo del Toro has delivered another work of genius. Jessica Chastain is the greatest.
