Sid Meier's Civilization VI7
Jan 1, 2021
DISCLAIMER: This is the first and only CIV game I've played. CIV VI does good job to introduce basics new players to the series, although some systems like the diplomacy stay unclear. Also the AI diplomacy seem illogical. The game is still very addictive and it is the primary example of a 'one more turn' game. The gameplay is very fun and satisfying. Cool game for LAN party with friends. Playing with AI gets a bit boring after couple of games.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft5
Dec 31, 2020
I've played Hearthstone everyday since Beta up to the Boomsday Project expansion. I've bought couple pre-orders. In the early days of the game it was the best card game ever, with brilliant visuals, simple yet fun gameplay and cool setting in the WOW universe. BUT ever since the Witchwood the game began to be more and more repetitive, the grind was real, you couldn't keep up with the meta without paying money. Playing Hearthstone became more of a chore to me. Every time when new expansions were announced I was thrilled to see new cards but then I read about the massive paywall behind the content. I'm ok with paying for actual quality content but paying about 60$ for every expansion, couple times a year is horrendous, that's the price of an AAA game you have to pay in a F2P card game. It is a good game if you want to play VERY casual and spend 2-3 hours a week on it, but I advise you not to get too invested in order not to waste a lot of your time and money. What a big waste **** core game...

Forza Horizon 410
Dec 31, 2020
I've played SO many racing games on PS3, PC - every NFS game, Burnout, Gran Tourismo, etc. but once I got Xbox One everything changed. The first game I played on a new Xbox was Forza Horizon 3. It was amazing. But then Forza Horizon 4 came out and it was even better. The graphics and detail in this game is amazing. The game doesn't force you to do anything - you are given so much freedom. Remember when you are 100 m from the finish line and you suddenly hit something - no more, because you can rewind anytime during the race. It is so satisfying to race in this game. To me it has the perfect balance between arcade and sim way of driving. Best racing game ever.

It's very very addictive game. But when you beat the game with every character it gets a bit repetitive and pointless. Ascension isn't enough. It lacks endgame and a bit more content.

Poorly optimised and wacky, but hey it's dark souls and it's awesome. Memorable locations and bosses. Great world and unique storytelling.

One of the best story in gaming. So much content in a DLC that it could be a standalone game.

The second entry to the Sims series brought even more wacky tone and developed it greatly with very imaginative DLCs. Even more possibilities, even better music, even more Sims.

Best DLC ever. You get so much hours of gameplay, many other game studios could make 2 games out of it. And the quality of the DLC - same as the main game. Touissant is breathtaking.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim10
Dec 31, 2020
After the prologue you are given so much freedom of exploring and discovering Skyrim that it was breathtaking to me. And the immersion after dozens of hours put into this game was magical. I admit, there were some bugs, strange ragdolls and couple of save reloads, but I still love this game.

Games like Flower or Abzu typically are boring to me but with Journey it was different. It has been a wonderful experience full of strong emotions, astounding visuals and music. Although you can easily beat it in one sitting (I recommend it), you'll definitely remember it for a long time.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth10

This game introduced me to the roguelike genre. It has so much content, secrets, combinations of items. The progress in this game is so satisfying. At the beginning you struggle to get to the 1st boss, then to beat him, etc. and after dozens of hours its just bread and butter to you. 10/10

Celeste7
Dec 31, 2020
(I played through about 70% of the game) Celeste takes some simple mechanics and develops them through the levels to maximum. The mechanics are satisfying to learn and master. The story is quite enjoyable and have a deeper meaning. Visuals are surprisingly impressive to me. The game makes the most of these pixels. Sometimes you have to do too pixel-perfect jumps which is frustrating and can drive you away from the game. Some parts feel a bit stretched. Overall it is a solid platformer.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps10
Dec 31, 2020
One of the best platformers I've ever played. The game takes the mechanics from The Blind Forest and greatly expands it. Will of the Wisps focuses more on combat mechanics and its metroidvania aspects. The story is also more compelling for me than the previous. Graphics - amazing. Music - breathtaking. 10/10 (played on Xbox One X)
