Super Mario 647
Jan 2, 2016
The game is a classic, it is improved with more characters, more stars and more content, but the most important part of a platform game is having tight controls, and Super Mario 64 DS fails at that. The control(s) scheme are abysmal, camera controls are a joke and you will die a lot on the later stage simply because you character is not as responsive as it should be, not to mention very sluggish when it's moving/turning at slow speed. This didn't age well.

Final Fantasy IV (3D Remake)8

there is a strong nostalgia factor for me, no doubt about that. Story is good (nothing exceptional), it is challenging and complex game to a point that fine tuning your party could bring give an huge amount of hours. Replay value is great. The augment addition is awesome. 3d was one of the points of this game, so it obviously aged quickly, and pretty badly. I took 2 points off for 2 reasons: - lazy ds port. When a game uses the touchscreen only to display maps and info, you know that's a lazy port. - while the sound effects are good, the music is pretty disappointing. Only 1, maybe 2 tunes worth remembering and they play over and over. Was it really that hard to give us a couple dungeon music more? Ended up muting the game after 15 hours (played 35, 1 playthrough). Disappoint effort from Mr Uematsu. I still recommend this game anyway.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky3
Dec 6, 2015
First mystery dungeon title I play, I quit after around 4hours. Plot is mentioned as a strong point of this game, and I could feel that it was actually going somewhere (which is something not usually expected in a pokemon title) but the game mechanics were just a huge turn off. Terrible grinding, combat is uninteresting and flat, moving through randomly created dungeons is boring as hell (dont do the random generated thing again. Wasnt .hack enough as a lesson??). Just go trough dungeons, enemies will swarm you, use same moves again and again, rinse and repeat. The dashing is horrible (while does your character stop all the time you entered a new area?) and the controls are painful (kept coming up the wrong menu out because how buttons are layed). Art direction is ok, music is actually GREAT, graphics are passable. If this is supposed to be the best Pokemon Mystery Dungeon title, dont bother playing the series. Stick to the original games(which are awesome).

BioShock Infinite3
Nov 28, 2015
Awful. I have been playing games for a long time. After 2007, I stopped playing hardcore and I played only those games that looked promising. I enjoyed a lot Bioshock so I tried Infinite, and I quit after 4h (could have quit after 2). I am appalled by the positive reviews. I really think that people who give this an excellent score must be CoD-type games fans, because there is nothing sophisticated, exciting and even remotely innovative about this. CoD has innovated more actually. Here are a few points to keep you away from this game: linear gallery shooter poor shooting mechanics poor vigor mechanics stupid AI textures are of abysmal quality, even for being 2013, and I do not even really care much for the visual part in games overusage of bloom shader skyhook ends up being a gimmick waste of a promising setting like the sky city, instead it ends up being one of the most linear and constrictive titles I have ever played gear system does not seem to have much effect, and it is totally unrewarding TOO EASY I cannot speak for the whole plot because I stopped after a few hours, but if this game is considered by reviewers as a top-notch example of storytelling, I can see why videogames are not held by the same standards as movies, tv and literature as an art form. No subtlety whatsover. Everything is explained to you like you were a dumb kid. Beside Elizabeth, BORING characters. After a hour and a half i was already bored of the title because I could see the direction I could go on and on, but many people already explained here what is wrong with this games, especially when it comes to the shooting/plasmid mechanics. if you have a brain and value your time as much as I value mine, avoid this title.

The Beginner's Guide9

Great storytelling. Fantastic idea. The thing is, dont think of this as a game. Think of it as a book, or a really good short film. You will enjoy it more.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike9

One of the best DS titles, and the best Advance Wars game to date. Fantastic. Would like to see a modern updated version. Skip Days of Ruin and play this one.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin6

I applaud the developer willing for change in art direction, as Advance Wars is such a successful series not everybody would have feel that need. But as kiddie as it was, i still prefer the Dual Strike cartoony style. Also, the lack of CO power make everything feel flat. Plot is cheesy as hell. The graphics for the fighting skirmishes are bad by 2008 standards. You can have some good times, but Dual Strike is better in any way (beside multiplayer ofc).

Borderlands 21

In 20 years of playing, this is the ONLY game that gave me motion sickness and nausea. Tried everything people suggested online, as it seems like a (weirdly) common issue since it came out. Couldnt solve it, stopped after a few hours. Not willing to be sick for a game.

Transistor8

I am a fan of Bastion even tho I pretty much dislike any kind of fantasy setting. But I do enjoy scifi so I couldnt wait to try transistor. With a mix of cowboy bebop and Gits, the art direction and animations are fantastic. Combat is also amazing, very satisfying, huge step forward from the hack and slash of Bastion. It is def a very pleasant experience. But a very short one. Shorter than Bastion (you ll finish it in 5 hours), new game+ is not a really attractive proposition. The only real disappointment here is the story, I just couldnt care enough. While the plot was one of the fine points in Bastion, here it just feels like a wasted opportunity, as I wasnt given much background of the characters and therefore, I really couldnt care. Also the function/abilities menu could have done in a much more efficient way, way too messy the way it is, too many clicks needed. 8/10
