This game really does have a lot of positives. The graphics are very good and the game itself is very much in the RE style. The game has a good set of options to make all the necessary adjustments for playing the game itself. The characters and the story whilst reasonably good, some of the dialogue and voice acting is pretty ordinary. In my opinion there are two major issues this game has that lets its overall quality down. 1. The guns in this game feel like toys and thus detract majorly from the game and its gameplay. 2. Even more than the first point the reload system and interaction from the inventory is so bad. If the devs do read these reviews (and I hope they do) PLEASE fix these two issues and I feel you would improve this game immensely. Overall this game is a very decent game that is let down badly by the two main points mentioned above in my opinion. The game itself would be so much better if they were fixed.

Very hollow interpretation of the original game. The mechanics and graphics are great but many areas, enemies and weapons are cut. The scenario is essentially completely different and is no way near as interesting or engaging as the original. Nemesis although scary is kind of disappointing and he transformations are underwhelming. There is also no multiple choice story options as in the original, no mercenaries mode, and even shorter than the original game. Overall a somewhat fun but extremely shallow remake.

I was too scared to play this one as a kid, so beating it now felt great. The game is fun, has a great environment, and a versatile arsenal you can use to dismember some aliens! I do have a few complaints though, as out of the box Vsync caps you at 30 frames and disabling it will cause game breaking bugs at 2 parts during the game. To fix this just set your graphics to medium during level 1 and when youre fighting Dr. Mercers monster and you should be alright. The game also holds your hand a lot which is quite annoying because at parts it really doesnt leave much to the imagination. This also makes the game somewhat easy, even when I played on hard. Its still very spooky however, and I enjoyed it so much I beat it in only 2 days! I highly recommend to horror fans and gamers alike!

Totally recommended. Real horror survival (although linear). Each encounter creates sense of helplessness. Better than Evil Within 2 and few Resident Evil franchise
