The premise is somewhat interesting, but there isn't enough to sustain the story. This turned out to be so dull and slow. The dialogue is vapid and inane, with one-dimensional cookie-cutter characters. The review scores reflect either astroturfing, the emperor's new clothes phenomenon, or both. This is just one of a bunch of recent releases that are so overrated that I can't believe it is organic (e.g. A House of Dynamite and Highest 2 Lowest)

It's much better than the first two seasons but not good. You'd think it'd be easy to turn the good source material into a decent TV show, but they miss the mark with everything. This season they aren't obsessed with changing every little thing from the books, which is great. However, the acting is either wooden or amateurishly over-dramatic, and the dialogue is not really helping.

I can’t understand how this show gets such high ratings in the media and everywhere else. I guess the studios flood the reviews with shills, and access media critics tout each show as brilliant. I watched the first three episodes. The story is generic, a rehash of the same old setting where something mysterious happens in a secluded town. The acting is so wooden, and many characters seem to have identical personalities. Nothing really happens; the inane story is just stretched out to fill the runtime. The dialogue is as wooden as the acting. There’s no real tension, and the constant flashbacks are tedious. This is a snoozefest and best left alone.

Terrible person, terrible idea, terrible show. I don't know what else to say; this shouldn't have been made.

The show is the manifestation of the "No, we have [X] at home". What we wanted was a lovingly made show that pays homage to the original story. What we got is disrespectful to the books and the audience. This is better than the first season, but only marginally. I don't think the show will survive past this or the next season.

They should've focused on the story and not the gimmick. I don't know who they thought would watch this, but I don't think anyone will.

This is a budget TV show. They had a huge budget; too much money to do anything relevant with it. So they squandered it all in everything possible and impossible. What they didn't spend any time, money, or effort on, was the script.

This show is a sacrilege. Utterly terrible and does a disservice to the franchise.
