The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd10

IMO ended up being the best of this trilogy, Kevin was a good protagonist, and the story was heavy but enjoyable.

Great story, great game and appreciated the elements royal adds to the base game. Runs great on pc and ps5 although I am disappointed that playstation owners have essentially had to buy the base game, royal on ps4 and then royal on ps5.

Pokemon Violet5

I cannot deny that the gameplay loop and a lot of the concepts in the game are fun, ended up building a classics team full of pokemon from previous gens that I gel'd with. However, the technical state is disgusting both visually and performance wise, especially since I know the switch can handle games like Breath of the Wild, and Fire Emblem engage which run and look better. The new gen pokemon are grim if I'm to be frank though this is an subjective view. Though lack of voice acting isnt a point against it, it does start to grind on your gears when story battles have characters interrupting the action to talk, with no voices, cut scenes running with no voices. What is the point of attempting to be cinematic if you can't at least make these concessions. Maybe this should've had another year in the oven.

Tbh I couldnt stand a lot of the characters but was willing to persevere through, however the combat and mediocre dungeon design ended up making me quit before I could see the game to its end.

incredibly fun whether you're doing a solo run or playing with friends. Stories engaging and written well enough and the gameplay is ace. Looking forward to BG3.

Surprise hit from Tango. Music was great and I enjoyed the cast. Took me a little while to get into but once I did I was hooked.

Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster8
May 1, 2023
Still the same brilliant beautiful game on the PS2 but with a slight facelift. Appreciated having this on PC though the port was mediocre at best, with some unexpected crashes after hard bosses, and visual issues such as green screen during pivotal cut scenes. Using a certain mod I was able to make certain modifications such as being able to play with Japanese audio which to be honest should have been added as a feature to the remaster.

Final Fantasy X10

Beautiful, captivating and timeless. A fantastic story, with a heartbreaking romance and great writing and characters. In my opinion both the perfect gateway to the Final Fantasy series, and one of the greats in its own right.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel10

This entry in the Trails series has some great world building setting up some concepts that aren't always executed so great in Cold Steel II but you can appreciate their story potential in the first game. Combat is fun, and the large cast provides you with a variety of skills and fighting styles. Not sure of the general consensus towards this but I quite enjoyed the school trip segments as they'd force you to use certain party members you may not have considered. Overall just a fun game.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky8

Older JRPG on steam that sets the foundation for a great series of games. May start a little slow but the pace picks up and by the end you want to pick up Sky SC to see where things go.

Tales of Arise8
May 1, 2023
Very visually beautiful game, concepts in the story started very strong, I did very much enjoy the characters. I put about 40 hours into it and the first 30 were a joy, but the latter 10 or so kind of turned into nonsense. Overall if you have a tolerance for story lines that become convoluted and some grinding then I think you will enjoy this.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition6

The game was fun but the campaign and characters ultimately left much to be desired. Yuri gives the illusion of a more in depth character but doesn't really go far enough in my opinion and the story just started becoming kind of a drag.

Base games kinda eh and DLC didnt do much to improve things. Graphics are nice and thats about it, but other than that feels like generic open world shlock.
