Not only is this the biggest, most passionate Lego game I've ever played, it also fixed my only complaint with the entire franchise - You've got a hecking failed state on the hardest diffculty!!

Pokemon Legends: Z-A - Mega Dimension3

Borderline awful. It's something else to do in the game, which is the highest praise I can give it, but pairing a timer with bad platforming controls is a bold idea.

Excellent evolution of Daggerfall. To some, this is the perfect middle ground of the incredible freedom of earlier titles and modernization. But to me, Skyrim is the limit. Unfortunately, it also brings the lesser of both worlds. (Much smaller map, still annoying af combat.)

Mario Kart World8
Dec 14, 2025
The main gameplay is as good as modern Mario Kart should feel like, and knock out mode is a great addition. The open world, on the other hand, while well designed, is just incredibly pointless and not the selling point they thought it was.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A5
Dec 14, 2025
Extremely medicore, I really thought they had kind of a comeback with Arceus and to a lesser extend with SV. The combat is kind of fun in a flashy and time saving kind of way, but even that barely works. The city setting could work if we had much better visual variety. I enjoy online combat, even if it's not even close to as engaging as the usual. If you don't think you gonna care for the combat though, don't bother.

It is decent if you play it on Switch 2, if you don't, it's a disgrace. The story is very fun, the graphics are bad but at least colorful, having an open world pokemon game is great but the world is also kind of empty except for the creatures.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond9
Dec 14, 2025
Vastly overhated in the general discourse. (Not reflected in the score though.) It was indeed in development hell, but everything it does at least works or is beyond amazing. The dessert can be kinda fun, because it gives you a feeling of a bigger scope, getting around on VIOLA is fun, finding shrines to come back to is rewarding and knowing that you do something for the endgame by collecting green crystals is satisfying. Granted, the implementation is pretty retro. Everything else is as good as it gets, the atmosphere, music, level design are all awesome, and the abundance of marvel like characters makes it more mainstream but I don't feel like it hurt my enjoyment of the game at all. As you can see, I'm pretty biased, but who isn't on this site? If it clicks, it clicks hard. 8.5 from me.

Portal 210
Dec 14, 2024
It has much lower lows than its predecessor, when you are out of the chambers and looking for a single pixel that you can portal. That, however, matters little in the grand scheme, as its highs are so incredibly high! The level design (in the chambers) is excellent, the story is amazing, the coop campaign is really cool and they gave you a level editor on top of it all! It's basicly three games in one: A sequel, a coop spinoff and a Mario Maker version!

Super Mario Galaxy 210
Oct 21, 2023
Mechanically impressive, beautiful, the soundtrack is a banger, the level design is even better than the original, also it's quite challenging for a Mario game. So far, this game has been a constant stream of just highs with no lows, and it's one of the best games I've ever played.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder9
Oct 21, 2023
It's like an incredibly creative, fun and expressive version of NSMB, and the finale is amazing. However, there are questionable design choices, like fluff in form of levels you basicly can not fail, or, for example, one part where you can buy a a shortcut pipe back to where you came from for 50 purple coins, despite being able to fast travel from the menu. Also, not being able to have multiple different badges in multiplayer ****. Stuff like that keeps it from being a masterpiece like SMB3 or SMW, and it's a damn shame, because it got really close.

What a game. What a deeply flawed, yet absolutely breathtaking game: From the graphics to the atmosphere to the boss fights, this is absolutely incredible and I'm lucky to have found it so late, as it has a bunch more content, is way more polished and the sequel is right on the way!
