As an individual release, Chapter 5 is a new peak for Deltarune. As a follow-up to Chapters 3+4, it offers more in a way that maintains overwhelming expectations for what’s to come. And that’s all this chapter had to do. Once again, Toby Fox has spent more time opening worm-loaded cans than closing them. If there are indeed only two chapters remaining, they have a fascinating yet intimidating onus. Though, again, what reason have we to doubt Fox and his team’s capability?

Deltarune Chapter 5 offers more questions than answers in terms of the saga's mysterious lore. Fortunately, though, the gameplay, writing, and overall design make for a thoroughly engaging detour into a flower-filled Dark World.

This chapter hit me hard. Ending is great. Chapter like mechanics are a real joy. Characters for this chapter are extremely good and the prologue is wanderful (date).

I find it hard to understand the complains about the supposed "lack of lore" in this one. Think back to Snowdin, Waterfall, Hotland - Most of the deeper lore went straight over our heads until the end, and I'm expecting it to be the case here as well. Anyway, this chapter is amazing. The characters are so fun, the gameplay twist is surprisingly well executed, I especially love the final and secret boss themes. To me, it was definitely worth the wait. Also, here is my favorite Deltarune meme for absolutely no reason: "Susie will speak ARABIC. Ralsei will speak RUSSIAN. Noelle will DIE. Lancer will speak MANDARINE."
