I was a bit late on playing this game. I heard of it at first, but the "turn-based" style of combat was a major turn off on my pea-sized brain. However, upon trying it out in November this year, it subverted each and every bad expectations I had in this game. I thought "this can't be THAT good, right?", and I was glad to be proven wrong. Not only was the combat amazing, the music, story and basically the prologue just sticks with you. It really helped that I didn't watch any trailers or gameplay before playing the game. It was so rewarding finding what the world is about without handholding or coddling its player-base. I love how Sandfall Interactive respects its players to piece together the story on their own and not spoon-feed expositions at minute 1 of the game. Truly deserving of the GOTY Award. If you're somewhat tired of all the disappointing releases from triple A studios nowadays, give this game the benefit of the doubt. You might like it, you might not. Form your own opinions and don't mind the glazing too much. After all, it's only a game, what's the point if you don't enjoy it. For those who come after.
