WildStar4

This MMORPG is so generic and typical in all aspects you really don't miss out anything if you don't play it. If you choose to do so, you will have a fair amount of fun (at least for the first, free month). But I can't see any reason to actually subscribe to it, unless it's exactly what you are looking for (a generic, typical Themepark grindfest with no real soul). BTW: don't get fooled thinking this game is somewhat more "hardcore" than anything else out there. It's not. Sure, you can die way faster in Wildstar due to many merciless, one-hit mechanics. But in the end it's the same **** like in any other MMO you've played so far. If you don't have problems memorizing the movement in other games, there's really not much difference here. It's simply an annoyance thing, not an evolution in game mechanics ....

Diablo III: Reaper of Souls4
Apr 17, 2014
This "expansion" is at its core an utterly needed patch for a broken and boring game. It fixes a good amount of the problems vanilla D3 had. But the actual content is very limited. And for a few weeks it was kind of fun. But in the long run Blizzard will manage to eliminate all aspects of fun with their mindset regarding "balance". "Overpowered" items, builds or farm methods get nerfed into ground asap, while obvious bugs in classes or items that actually weaken the players remain unfixed for weeks/ months. Awkward understanding of balance in my opinion ... Blizz: just get your head out of your a** and try to balance the game around the idea of "fun for as many as possible", not "all are equally f***" After all it's a single player/ coop game and in no way competitive. Who cares if some bugs make this game actually fun to play? Concentrate on bugs, which eliminate that fun ....

The Lord of the Rings Online: Helm's Deep4
Nov 29, 2013
After a 2 year hiatus I decided to give this game with the new expansion "Helm's Deep" another try. And I have to say: I am very disappointed of Turbines vision from "Epic Battles" in Helm's Deep. I really don't know what's epic in standing around and clicking either on things or NPCs to trigger some meaningless actions like repairing things or getting a buff. In a far distance you can see thousands of inactive orc sprites (maybe really 3D, but who cares, if they are more than 500 yards away from you There are never more than maybe 50 ACTIVE NPCs actually on your screen, most of the time less. So not very inspiring, don't expect the epic feeling of Peter Jackson's films Besides these 5 new Epic Battles (for me more like Skirmish 1.5) there are no new instances, raids or Skirmishes. So it will get soon boring as hell. To be honest I am bored already after 1 week. With this expansion you get skill trees like in WoW until Cataclysm. I have to say I'm not a huge fan of it, but at least it's not a game breaker. The versatility of many classes from the past is nonetheless gone, it's more or less uninteresting cookie cutter now. If you don't like that kind of skill selection, stay away from LotRO. The worst part for me is the combat. I play this game since early Closed Beta (2006) and it always felt a bit slow, unresponsive and laggy. But it got worse over time. Or maybe all other games do it so much better in the meantime, that it bothers me more and more. Who knows? Fact is: the combat is really bad compared to newer games. Airswings 5 or more seconds after I pressed a button isn't something I wanna see 2014 anymore. And it happens all the time (with a 50 MBit connection, really good ping and a hell of a rig, so really bad netcode is my guess). The item shop gets more and more so called "pay to win" Items, which personally doesn't bother me too much, but could be a game breaker for others. Prices for really useful things are high. To end with something positive: the new landscape and especially Helm's Deep are really well made. LotRO always was a game where you can get lost, simply riding around and exploring. And the new expansion is no exception in that case. For what it's worth: I always will love this game just for its environment. TLDR: mediocre expansion at best with nothing you really have to see or play. Wait until next expansion (if there actually is a new one, the license could end in 2014) to get this for a good discount.

This game is just amazing. All I was hoping for D3 to be. The only thing that bothers me a little bit is the very colorful and cartoonish graphics style. But at the end it's a wonderful world with much at least as much sense to details as D3. So only a matter of taste and not of quality. So at least for me at the moment pretty much the most perfect arpg on the market. And if some shortcomings should rise in the the future, I'm sure the modding community will handle it :) If you like PLAYING arpgs then consider to buy it. More than enough value for 20 bucks ....

Scoring this game has two components: this game itself and its online part. First: the game is not bad at all, a quality dungeon crawler. If you like that sort of game you wouldn't be disappointed. But what makes this game barely bearable is its online cluster **** First days error 37 is known even by many who don't play that game. Even more annoying than that are the lag spikes if you managed to get online. And now even my account is being compromised, gone is all equip and gold farmed in the last 40 hours of playtime. So, what remains is simply a unplayable experience. I don't bother with CS to restore my account and just let it be. After all it's not that ground breaking that it's worth it ...

v00d00m4n's post says it all. Game with great potential gets a lousy console port with crappy gameplay and control. I'm (maybe was?) a huge Remedy fan. Played all their games from Death Rally to this piece of crap. It's looks like a disgusting trial to rip off more money from gamers. Remedy, i've read, you are PC gamers at heart and really wanted to make this port. If that's true, than do us all a favor: next time do not listen to your heart if you don't consider to do it right ....
