This movie is made for girls/women. Even though it shows the entertainment industry, specifically the voice-over, the way it's constructed easily portrays how challenging it is for women to enter any industry that was previously male dominated. You can identify with the character and what she is "fighting" for. I really liked it. Lake Bell was amazing and she will be a force to be reckoned with if she keeps popping up movies like this. **** the way, it is not the pseudo- feminist, obnoxious movie you expect to see, don't listen to the meninists, the movie is just plain good by any standards. It was refreshing, don't regret the time spent watching it.

My god it was so bad! Instead of giving it a little twist, something that wasn't almost exactly like the animation. Cate Blanchett and HB Carter were good.....they were the only ones. An hour and a half that I will never get back. So,so bad.

I am 20 minutes in and it seems like rude, hipster central. Half way in, still the same vibe but, after you get over the first 45 minutes of it, it slowly starts to show you the idea and "message" of the movie. The movie isn't groundbreaking, it's the type that you watch when there is nothing else to watch or if you're 45yo and identify with it's characters. I think it somehow personifies the bridge between 2 generations, and it is suitable for both. Most 20-somethings might find it boring, but if you keep watching it, it will make sense and it will also show you how your parents feel, the baby culture, the new-comers etc. It's a good movie, but not for everyone.

Most likely one of the best movies of the year. It was excellent. The more you watch it the more you observe things that you were initially not aware of. I recommend it wholeheartedly, can't wait for the next one. It is anything but boring or predictable.
