Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy7
Dec 29, 2025
Getting Over It is truly frustrating, challenging, and truly tests your temper. I admit that I still haven't finished the game and actually refunded it, putting it on hold, but I think it's a truly excellent game for its uncommon genre. The funniest thing about this game, and probably what makes it stand out from the crowd, is the narrator who never stops reminding you how much you **** at this game. The only major downside I could point out is that this title pioneered what the industry calls "asset flipping": Effectively, all the assets of this game were taken from marketplaces. This doesn't make it a bad game, but it just might kill the developer's creativity and be a sign of a low quality game for some.

Tomodachi Life8
Feb 8, 2026
Tomodachi Life is one of the best Mii games you could play, and one of the most meaningful hits for the 3DS device. Anything bizarre can happen here, basically insane drama situations that make it all the really fun and interesting. Also, all the small minigames make me look back at this game from time to time. Unfortunately, limited by the console's hardware, the Tomodachi Life gets repetitive pretty quickly, but that doesn't make it a bad game and it's actually fun to see how Nintendo got around them. I have big expectations for the sequel, and hopefully it won't let me down!

Windowkill8
Dec 26, 2025
Incredibly well-crafted and fun to play for quick and casual plays. With its simplistic in design, Windowkill offers fast-paced and intense gameplay with a solid progression system that requires the player's attention for every aspect. It's also surprisingly well optimized with all the windows constantly opening and closing.

Youtubers Life 24
Dec 25, 2025
While it adds some new features, YouTubers Life 2 is a big step back from its predecessor. Careers outside of the gaming ones are virtually nonexistent, and adding a little lore to this simulator doesn't really do much. I appreciate the open world, but I can't say the game is as fun as the first game.

Youtubers Life7
Dec 25, 2025
YouTubers Life is an addictive cozy game that lasts 5 to 10 hours of gameplay before it gets boring. The premise is simple and doesn't require much effort to learn the mechanics. I appreciate that you can pursue careers other than gaming, you can interact with other players, move house, and the cards mechanic is nice. I can't say it's revolutionary and it gets boring after a few hours, but it's still a nice game to spend some time with.

WorldBox - God Sandbox8
Dec 25, 2025
[Temporary Review, I'll repost it when the Android version is added to Metacritic]
Worldbox is an exceptional god-like sandbox, where you can do practically anything with populations, nations, cultures, terrain, weather, nature, infections, you name it. The game has a lot of fantasy elements, from humans to elves, and their technologies stop to medieval, but that doesn't make it any less ****. It has several intuitive mechanics and enjoyable gameplay. Also, a very useful time skip is also available.

Barro GT5
Dec 25, 2025
I'm on torn about this game. It's very simple, with low-poly graphics and simple tracks, highly customizable races, and it's overall fun to play for an hour. However, the developer behind this game yearly releases a multiple versions of this game, with little to no differences at all.

ROBLOX (Game Client)4
Dec 25, 2025
[Temporary review, will be removed when the PC version is added on Metacritic] Once great, it has been slowly ruined by their holders. My 2025 review is terrible. It's now a platform where, to stop toxicity and predators, freedom of the players is granted only if they put their faces through an AI scanner. Renaming "friends" to "connections" is kinda odd, as weird as calling predators as opportunities on the platform. All the experiences (games) released this year were mediocre at best and overall unfunny.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit8
Dec 25, 2025
A hidden gem, Mario Kart: Super Circuit is probably one of the best racing games on the platform. They did a good job with the graphics and a charm that's very reminiscent of Mk64. The controls are okay, the tracks are good, art and music are perfect and I really appreciate the hidden SMK tracks.

Mario Kart 648
Dec 25, 2025
A must-have for the N64, perfect with friends. Most tracks are great and it offers a good roster of characters. Unfortunately, the AI cheats a lot and makes the game more difficult than it is, but Mario Kart 64 is still a great entry in the series.

Wii Sports8
Dec 25, 2025
Nintendo's Wii classic, suitable for everyone, from hardcore gamers to your grandma. The simplicity of this game is truly its strong point, with its intuitive controls. It definitely doesn't have the best graphics, but Wii Sports still keeps its charm alive. I love the daily training mode and the battles against the CPUs that get increasingly difficult.

Nintendo Land8
Dec 25, 2025
Probably the best game to launch Nintendo's infamous Wii U. It's really fun to play the minigames both in solo and with more players. I love the main plaza with all the Miis that bring it to life. When you have enough coins, you can play a minigame that puts decorations in the plaza if you win. I also must praise the colorful graphics and the charm. Potentially one of the best games on the Wii U.

The Binding of Isaac8
Dec 25, 2025
Difficult, frustrating, and unforgiving. I have to admit that I still need to beat it. It's not impossible, but it's really hard. That's why I love Edmund's games. The story isn't detailed, but it's still enjoyable. I've heard it's inspired by the author's troubled past with religion, but I'm not sure.

Assetto Corsa8
Dec 25, 2025
Despite its age, Assetto Corsa is still a very complete and fun game. It's one of the best titles any vehicle driving simulator enthusiast should own. Its gameplay is mostly realistic and intuitive, even for those who aren't experts in the field. It offers a fairly large catalog of vehicles and tracks, and graphics and attention to detail remain the game's strong points. Although the vehicles and tracks catalogs heavily rely on the DLCs, the community has also contributed to it with multiple mods.

Minecraft10
Dec 24, 2025
This is the pinnacle of human creativity. Each version of Minecraft is unique in itself, making it one of the best sandboxes out there. Replayability is endless too, also thanks in part to the numerous mods. Focusing on 1.0, the sprinting mechanics revolutionized the game; creative is a truly necessary feature for this game, along with the semi-infinite world that removed the Far Lands. I don't think an ending is necessary to this game, but I guess adding The End didn't hurt and gave a purpose to the players.

Baldi's Basics in Education and Learning7
Dec 24, 2025
I like it. The original release of the game definitely deserves a lower rating, but the newer version of Classic is really enjoyable and has decent enough graphics that it doesn't hurt your eyes. The lore is interesting, even if it's not canonical for what will become with Plus, and the gameplay mechanics are so simple and intuitive. The endless mode is cool but quickly becomes impossible.

Garry's Mod9
Dec 24, 2025
Garry's Mod is a very fun game, especially carried by the workshop, where creativity is the limit. Almost anything imaginable is possible, with countless game modes and scenarios to create. Not to mention that it literally comes with most Half-Life 2 models, weapons, characters, and props. What started as a Half-Life 2 mod has evolved into one of the most revolutionary sandbox games ever.

Dec 24, 2025
Among Us is a really fun game, and I have so many great memories with it in the past. However, the latest updates have completely changed this game, making it very different from what it was, with new maps, tasks, roles, and more. Also, the servers have always been full of uncontained toxicity for whatever reason, which ultimately led me to give it this rating.

Half-Life: Source5
Dec 24, 2025
This edition of Half-Life, forgotten even by Valve itself, is a failed attempt to port the blockbuster masterpiece to the Source engine. This beautiful title, despite having slightly better graphics, quickly became ridden with bugs that may ruin your experience and pratically is a meme in the inner Half-Life community.

Castle Crashers8
Dec 24, 2025
Castle Crashers doesn't offer any notable innovation, but it's solid in its simplicity. It's a very nostalgic game in my opinion, as I played it as a kid on my Xbox 360.
Castle Crashers is a very simple pseudo-3D beat 'em up, probably best in multiplayer, but with a compelling story and fun gameplay. The cartoonish graphics are great, the spell and fighting mechanics are really cool and the environments are perfect for the genre. The soundtrack is a masterpiece, and the "Back off, Barbarian" minigame included in the PC version is very fun.

Undertale9
Dec 24, 2025
Undertale is a solid game, probably Toby Fox's best work so far, which truly overturns the mechanics of how RPGs have worked for years. The 8-bit graphics also work very well with this title. Filled with strange creatures, numerous locations, and a lot of determination, why not try flirting with that skeleton who wants to kill you instead of killing him? And watch your attitude if you don't.

Game Dev Tycoon7
Dec 24, 2025
Game Dev Tycoon is a simple yet addictive game. Very easy to pick up and play for hours, the game itself doesn't dive too deeply into video game history, but it still offers a somewhat accurate story. I immediately liked the fictional names, easy mechanics, random events, and easter eggs from other titles. It lacks a bit of historical representation with consoles and some genres are missing, and the game often gets repetitive after the first playthrough, but the community has provided numerous mods over the years that help address these issues.

Half-Life 210
Dec 24, 2025
The sequel to the most revolutionary shooter in video game history. With graphics that hold up to today's standards even nearly twenty years after its release, Half-Life 2 picks up the story of our scientist, years later during a great alien invasion. Our game manages to combine a linear experience with a more open and vast world, a rich story set in an apocalyptic world with little but strong hope of opposing to the combine's dictatorship. Everything from the art direction to the gameplay is enjoyable. Overall, Half-Life 2 is a timeless masterpiece and will continue to be so for years to come.

People Playground8
Dec 24, 2025
I've always had fun calling it "the 2D copy of Garry's Mod," but I've discovered that it's actually a pretty good competitor to it. With People Playground, you can do almost anything you can imagine. Create circuits, complex machines, revive historical events, shootouts, and maybe study a little bit of physics, dynamics, and human anatomy. Or just break bones I guess.

Intuitive, challenging, and addictive.
Simply the better copy of The Impossible Game. Over the years, it has evolved into a home for eye-catching level designs, nearly impossible levels, and a lot of memes. It is mostly carried by a vibrant community. RobTop, the somewhat lazy developer behind this title, took a while to release 2.2, the latest major update, but looking at everything it introduced, it was totally worth the wait. The only real problem is that it makes you swear a lot.

The Henry Stickmin Collection9
Dec 24, 2025
I admit that nostalgia plays does an heavy lift on this score, but Henry Stickmin is truly a masterpiece on its own. I think most of us have a bit of nostalgia for the games on Newgrounds, and Henry Stickmin is a well-known figure from that world, so having a collection on Steam with all five games, plus a final one with multiple endings, is truly an achievement.
Looking at what it offers, the collection can be completed in as little as 5-6 hours, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Ultimately, it offers a remaster of every game in the series, complete with descriptions for each character, hidden achievements, casual humor, and it also perfectly strikes a balance between having tons of easter eggs and still including its own personality. Innersloth has cooked a lot with this game, and I can't wait to see what it has to offer on the future.

Portal9
Dec 24, 2025
I initially dropped it, after all I hate using my brain on puzzle games. But one hot day in July, I was bored and I decided to pick it up again. I played it for six hours straight, and I have to admit, I don't regret it.
Portal is that kind of game that requires you to use your brain all or nothing: at times, I found myself quite easily on the other side, while at other times, I spent up to fifteen minutes trying to figure out how to proceed further. It's just a revolutionary game made by the ol' good Valve, with a deeper lore and a rather eerie vibe. Well, after all, it's set in the world of Half-Life. Anyways, wanna eat that cake?

Hollow Knight changed my perspective on video games. I haven't had a game that captivated me this much in the last few years, but the challenges, the exploration, the art and music, the lore, the ambientation and the attention to detail, combined with the secrets, simple yet effective gameplay mechanics, cool fellas and epic boss fights, made Hollow Knight one of the few exceptions.
