The game is a bunch of ideas mixed together with neither head nor feet. A type of game that seems impressive when you read or hear about it, but falls flat when you actually get down to playing it.
As a fan of the original Until Dawn, I was excited to revisit the game on PS5—only to be met with a frustrating mess. The upgraded version somehow manages to look worse than the PS4 release, plagued by buggy graphics, inconsistent lighting, and immersion-breaking glitches. The controls feel clunky and unresponsive, making even simple exploration a chore. Worst of all, the redesigned character models are a huge step backward—uncanny and awkward, they strip away the emotional impact and realism that made the original cast so memorable. This version feels like a rushed cash grab rather than a respectful upgrade. Stick to the original—this one’s a scare for all the wrong reasons.
