I’ve been a big fan of XCOM since the original on PC back in the day and this one made me fall in love all over again. It forces you to carefully measure each move you make since permadeath is very real here, once your operative is killed he/she is gone for good so make sure to keep a fresh healthy amount of reserves. Each enemy feels very unique with different strengths and weaknesses. The customization system for your operatives is very expansive offering loads of options. Each class of operative is intended to be utilized differently in order to be as effective as possible and leveling each one is very rewarding. Negatives are that the framrate can get choppy at times and there’s still some buggy areas and glitches though far and few between.

A disappointment. Compared to Origins and even other fantasy RPG's Dragon Age 2 fell short of the mark. The entire game is spent in a single city or the outlying areas around it even recycling and reusing those same areas many times. The main character who you create feels like a glorified errand boy instead of a champion and is completely boring. The story is basic and basically boils down to 3 major events nothing more. Most of the characters are wasted potential. The graphics and art style make the areas so bland and uninteresting, I believe they were going for an acrylic painting style but it just looks bleak and devoid. If the art style and graphics were better it would certainly help make the reused areas of the game a bit more enjoyable to explore even though they would still get tedious. To be fair however there are a few positives. I like the change in combat style, it's more fast paced and fluid as opposed to the MMO like style we had in Origins. A few of the characters from Origins that we grew to love appear. And finally the events that take place here have an effect on the events, locations, characters and story in Inqusition.

The characters are interesting, memorable and each one feels unique. The story is fantastic I very much enjoyed it. Easily at absolute bare minimum at least 15 hours worth. The character creator for the time was great. The only couple negatives i can mention are that the framerate can get a bit choppy at times and the combat can be very sluggish until you get used to it.

I have no idea what most of the critics here are talking about. The story **** since you don't care about any of the characters at all except Cayde6. The main villain is incredibly cliche which **** because it's clear that Bungie invested quite a bit of effort and time into trying to make him good. One of the reasons you don't care about them is because they are never really explained at all there's no backstory to any of them. Bungies insistence on having MMO elements in this game does not help at all in fact it actually holds them back since they have to try to balance guns toward both PvE and PvP which you can clearly notice when using many of the weapons in the game. Some are quite clearly meant more for PvE than PvP and vice versa. The PvP multiplayer is ludicrously unbalanced but slightly better than it was in Destiny 1. The random loot drops are only slightly better than they were in the first Destiny. The bosses are bland and require little to no effort to defeat since they are just bullet sponges that make you feel like your shooting a BB gun. I tried so hard to like Destiny 1 and 2 but the harder I tried the more I hated them. Such potential and such a high budget wasted. The only positives that I can mention are as follows: the soundtrack much like in Destiny 1 is great so good in fact that it often outperforms what's happening on screen. The gunplay is also great and will keep you playing for more than just 20 minutes before getting bored but of course it's a shooter so good gunplay is to be expected not necessarily praised.

The story I found to be great and each of the characters are unique each having their own likes and dislikes, backgrounds and personalities etc. One thing I do want to mention is that I'm very fond of the way that the developers specifically made certain characters with the intention to be less liked by the player than others. The story can branch out into many different directions sometimes resulting in the death of every character which inspires multiple play throughs until you get the ending you're satisfied with. Peter Stormare did a fantastic job with his character. The throwbacks to many of the classic slasher films involved are great. The decision making is well done and truly impactful and can drastically change the story.

One of the many things I loved about TEW is the atmosphere. What happens quite often with horror games is that there are too many cheap jump scares and TEW doesn't rely on them at all, sure there are some there but it ultimately relies more on the sounds, the chilling story and the locations. The only negative that I can bring up is that the main character is pretty cliche and boring.
