The game is just kind of "meh". It's not necessarily a bad game, but it suffers from a lot of the same problems as other MMOs: 1. Endgame PvP content is dominated by people using the exact same "meta" gear set ups, there is very little balance. 2. Instead of making the later game more difficult, they mostly make it more ****. Literally, harvesting a higher tier tree takes significantly longer, for no apparent reason other than distinguishing it from lower tier trees. 3. They didn't separate out servers by country/region, so a majority of the chat is not english, including important things you need to communicate. 4. The movement set up on computer is goofy (there is no option to move using A-S-D-W, and instead you have to click everywhere). 5. it is not entirely "pay to win", but if you really want to enjoy the game, you need the premium subscription, which is $15 a month. That's more per month than a lot of other, better MMOs charge. So overall, there is nothing to really make this game "bad" or "terrible", it just missed so many opportunities to be better that there are better MMOs out there (ESO, FF14, Guild Wars, BDO, etc).

They took a game that I already paid for, deleted it, forced me to download a different game, and that game now crashes about 3 minutes into every match, and is therefore unplayable. If that's not a kick in the balls, I don't know what is.

It's not as bad as some people have said. I've played about 36 hours, and its crashed 3 times and ive run into bugs that have caused me to reload twice. Mostly just little glitches here and there. It's also not a great game either. Even though there is this "incredible open world" that people talk about, most of the main story is on rails, and a lot of the side quests are repetitive. Plus the main story is not that great. It's basically just an updated version of Deus Ex, with more NPCs and cars and graffiti, but the same linear storyline that you are expected to follow.

Basically, if you have played Eve Online, you've already played this game. I was hopeful that, as they were putting this on a mobile platform, they would work to make it more appealing to casual gamers. With the latest patch, they introduced warp bubbles, allowing gate campers to rip you out of warp travel and kill you almost instantly. This is the clearest sign yet that the developers are not interested in making a game that appeals to the masses, but just an Eve Online clone for mobile. And why would you want to play Eve Online on a phone/tablet and not a computer?

I think every game should have a focus. What do the developers want the people to experience and enjoy? In this game, it seems like they wanted a team-based shooter with some added elements of PvE and leveling up thrown in. Fine. But then the developers didn't give you teamchat, voice chat, vote-kick. They didn't put in systems to deal with griefers or people who simply want to play the game as a generic FPS and ignore their team members. In summary, the game isn't set up to take advantage of what is supposed to be the focus. Maybe one day they will fix it. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Meh, it's not as bad as some people say. But it definitely lacks the polish you'd expect from an AAA game. Planes are WAY overpowered, if a couple of skilled pilots end up on the same team, the other team is nearly guaranteed to lose. There are still occasional bugs and glitches in it, over a year after release, and there is still no team balancing in the middle of matches, so if a squad or two leaves when team, it is just going to be a 32vs20 game until the round ends. I would generally advise against EA games in general until they show a commitment to fixing games post-release.

The overall gameplay and mechanics are pretty good, and it is free. The problem invariably is that, despite only being out for a week, there are already people who have played non-stop for that entire time, are masters of the game, and will kill you almost instantly no matter what you do. Without a way of separating the new players from the uber-elite, this game turns into the same boring monotony as other battle royale games.

Updated Review: The game has gotten significantly better over the course of a year. The maps are still good, the graphics are improved and smoother, and they seem to have fixed the problems with American servers being filled with chinese players. That being said, there are still some problems that hold it back. You will still occasionally line up the perfect shot through your cross hairs, only to have your bullet go somewhere else or, more frustratingly, to create a cloud of dust directly behind your target as if it went through them without hitting. Additionally, hacking/cheating is still a problem, and there is 0 confidence that the devs are going to do anything about it. And lastly, there doesn't really seem to be any ranking or sorting to keep you from getting matched with players in your squad who are just going to immediately suicide. In summary, it's an entertaining game, but it still lacks staying power.

I really don't understand the people drooling over the combat system in this game. While it is possible to block attacks, and use different weapons with different advantages, you will probably just spend the majority of the game mashing the left click button as hordes of rat-monsters run at you. Or you'll stand behind a boss and continually mash the left click button until he dies or turns around. For all the comparisons to L4D2, there is almost no strategy involved to how you play this game. On top of that, the graphics and game itself are kind of glitchy, where you will swing and kill 3 enemies, but miss two enemies that have sunk partway into the ground for some reason, before the game floats them back up to be standing on the ground. Overall, it's amusing for a little while, but not worth much in the end.

In some ways better than Farcry 3 or 4, probably not as good as 2, it's a mixture of extreme good and extreme bad. The graphics, setting, and sound are all great. The gameplay mechanics are generally solid, and the missions and characters pretty interesting. You really do feel like you are skulking through the Montana wilderness, fighting a crazed cult. On the other hand, the AI is pretty terrible. And I mean you will encounter a least a couple of times where the AI will screw up whatever mission you are on. Also, you can play the game stealthy, but for the major cutscenes and sequences, you will all the sudden be grabbed and shoved onto rails. Plus, the storyline is actually terrible, and the ending a huge disappointment. In summary, playing the game and doing missions and quests can be fun, but eventually you will have to complete parts of the story, and those parts of the game ****.

First off, I would recommend ignoring all reviews before 2016, as those were for an "early acess" version, and the final game version was only released in 2016. The final release is much different than the early access version. Overall, I would only half recommend this game. If you enjoy 2D sandbox games like terraria, you will probably like this game. It has more story, mission, and a coherent progression. Most of the missions are a bit ****, but it isn't too bad. And I think the boss battles are much better than terraria. The down-side is that there are still bugs and issues. For instance, I was recently playing the game and my power temporarily went out. I figured this would be no big deal, I would simply load from the last time I saved the game. WRONG. The game somehow deleted my planetary bookmarks, and set back portions of the main storyline to the very beginning of the entire game (ie it somehow corrupted portions of my current save file, even though I wasn't in the process of saving when the crash happened). So there are still issues to be worked out. Be forewarned.

If you've played Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, and wanted more Fallout, this quenches that thirst. If you are hoping for a vastly improved ****, not so much. The good: -The graphics continue to be very good. Not amazing or game-changing, but very very good. -The gameplay is simple and familiar to those who have played Fallout 3 or Fallout:New Vegas, making the transition easy. -There are endless little side quests, mission, and characters that make the game have enough depth to warrant the price. The bad: -The storyline is pretty boring and not particularly compelling. -The 3 main Factions that make up the game are interesting, yet their storylines and the choice you make as part of a faction don't tend to make a lot of sense. Granted, it is may be a little refreshing that there are no clear good/evil sides, but the factions are so morally ambigious that you tend to not care about their causes, either. -The missions, especially when it comes to settlements, are often boring and repetitive. -There still is not a great variety of ways to solve problems, so you are invariably going to end up with some sort of gun in a firefight with a bunch of raiders/supermutants/bad guys, and it always plays out in pretty much the same way. Opportunities to do things like sneak, or hack computers and turn the turrets against the unaware guards, are few and far between. Overall, it's a good game worth playing. And as I mentioned, if you liked Fallout3 and New Vegas, you will like Fallout 4. But it falls short of being some sort of truly amazing, game of the year game, and in the end is just pretty good.

Well, it's not a terrible game. There are some good parts to it. The setting is well designed, the dialogue is clever, and the graphics are pretty decent. However, for lack of a better word, the game is frustrating to play. The camera angles and overview of the world are too small for you to see what you would want to see, the towns are often unnecessarily large and empty, and the level up/combat system is just not that good. If you are a HUGE fan of this type of turn-based grind game (ie you played through Brotherhood of Steel multiple times, got all the achievements on XCOM, etc.), then this might be a good game for you. But for everyone else, even big fans of fallout 1 and 2 (such as myself), it's just not very fun to play.

This game is pretty bad. It's not terrible, but it's pretty bad. The easiest way to describe it is to imagine that they took Civ 5, re-skinned it with different graphics, got rid of some of the more enjoyable aspects (Like picking different civilizations with different bonuses at different ages), and emphasized some of the more annoying aspects of the game (ever get annoyed by random barbarians? Well say hello to an occasional SUPER barbarian). The game doesn't feel like you are really playing or advancing towards anything, it just feels like you are making a never-ending series of random decisions that have no real effect on the game. Not to mention the fact that the new "health" system (which replaced the happiness system) is not well balanced, if you conquer even one or two enemy cities you will probably have a negative effect on your civilization for the foreseeable future. Honestly, just avoid this game and go back and play more Civ 5 (at least until the price drops below $20).

I feel almost bad giving this game a negative review, this game has so much potential, but unfortunately it's pretty much wasted by the horrible ending. The pros: - The graphics are very pretty, and do convey the sense of being in another world. - The music and the few voice-overs are very good. - The general story and setting, up until the end, is captivating and unique enough when stacked up against other games. The cons: - The game is on rails. Serious rails. And it feels like it. It actually provides you with a map you can click on, so you can learn about the different regions and cities of the world, but then won't let you plot a course to visit any of them. - The combat is actually pretty boring once you realize that every round of turn based combat, the turns go back and forth between you and the enemy. You just killed 3 enemies so it's now 5 on 3? Well, that just means some of the enemy units will go twice. It really **** any aspect of strategy right out of the game. - The ENDING! Wow. I don't want to spoil it, but the game builds up so much about the setting, the history of the world, the different **** then it just ends. SO much could have been done, but wasn't. What a gyp. Overall, I just can't recommend it, even on sale. It's like reading a really great novel, getting towards the first of many climaxes in the novel, and then it just stops. No resolution. No explanation. Just some ending credits.

This game is a prime example of how a good idea and solid gameplay can trump graphics and polish. It's basically a combination of strategy/RPG. You start out by yourself, but will quickly recruit an army and travel from town to town, performing various quests, fighting bandits, etc. The world map is huge, with a variety of towns, villages, and castles. The good: - An open world truly gives you the ability to do just about anything (although some activities are encouraged over others) - Troops you recruit are fairly unique, and can be upgraded to different classes - There is a real sense of accomplishment, with the ability to go from a random guy with a sword to lord of a town and some surrounding villages The not so good: - The graphics are a bit dated, and some of the combat can be a bit repetitive - The menu's and options are a little haphazard in their layout. - Unfortunately, creating your own kingdom can be a real nightmare, and absorb way too much time. Overall, definitely worth getting if you enjoy RPG's and medieval combat.

First, let me say I was a big fan of the first bioshock, and somewhat a fan of the 2nd. This one fell short of what it could be. I'll just list it as a set of pro's and con's, but please, PLEASE don't believe all the hype about this game. Pro's: -Graphics are pretty good, nothing ground breaking, but up to competing with what's out there. -The story was somewhat clever, kind of reminded me of dishonored. -The gameplay mechanics were very similar to bioshock 1 and 2, which made it easy to get in to Cons: -The game was relatively short, with almost 0 replayability. While the game gives you some decisions, none of them feel like they mean anything at all. -The gameplay becomes VERY repetitive as the game continues. Move to the next area, shoot all the bad guys. Move to the next area, shoot all the bad guys. By the last half of the game, it was more a desire to finish than a desire to play that got me through it. -The story did not really flow. While the main plot was interesting, the sideplots and people you meet just felt like filler to point you to the next area full of bad guys. Overall, if you can get it for under $10, it's a pretty good game, but trust me, once you beat it, you will never pick it up again.

The Good: As far as platformers go, the graphics, sound effects, and comedy all work well. If you love platformers, this will be a pretty enjoyable game for you. The Bad: The controls are a bit wonky, the hit boxes are annoying, and the difficulty/cost of upgrades scales too quickly. If you are an expert at platformers and have the fast-twitch reflexes of a teenager in his/her prime, you may be able to advance through the game, but for the rest of us, you will probably never end up more than 6-12 rooms deep into any dungeon. The game simply lacks the balance and polish to make it fun.

Going into this game, I read several reviews that said the game polished and fixed the problems that Battlefield 3 had to give a more enjoyable experience. Sadly, it did not. The game is still very unbalanced, casual players will continually be pummeled by 24/7 fanatics who've unlocked all the upgrades, and the level design is no better than in Battlefield 3, just different. In short, if you're a huge fan of BF3, go ahead and get it. If not, you may want to pass on this one.

A great amount of potential for combining storytelling and the feel of the original shadowrun universe, the content simply isn't there yet. If you are looking for a free MMORPG to play casually, this game might suit you. The lore and story are put together capably enough to engage most, and the graphics are pretty good. However, the game does begin to get old after a while, and as you reach the higher levels, you will find yourself competing with either people who play this game 24/7, or people who pay money to get better equipment, contribute to their guild, etc. Additionally, while the community is somewhat helpful for new people, most higher level groupings and guilds will require you to sacrifice hours every week doing repetitive quests.

As someone who played and greatly enjoyed Diablo 1 and 2, I was hoping that this game would bring the Diablo universe to a modern conclusion. Unfortunately, it seems like most of the changes have been either minor, or have made the game less dynamic. The Good: 1. New graphics and skill animations look and sound beautiful 2. Cut-scenes are excellent all around. 3. New classes seem to be fairly balanced and interesting, for the time being (although knowing blizzard, I'm sure they'll change this soon enough). The Bad: 1. Always have to be connected, not just to the internet, but to blizzards bug-ridden and lag-filled servers. 2. Skill trees have been vastly simplified to the point where there is no real specialization of characters, ie one barbarian is the exact same as another (which GREATLY diminishes replay value, and make you feel like all you are doing is clicking instead of playing a unique character). 3. Normal difficulty, especially Act 4, became too easy and repetitive. In Diablo 2, Act 4 created new problems with elemental damage. In Diablo 3, Act 4 is the same as Act 3 is the same as Act 2, and then the game ends. Overall: While the graphics are much shinier, the gameplay actually took a step back (especially compared to other games currently on the market), and there is really limited replay value considering the only thing that differentiates one character from another is equipment, which just seems to be nothing but a shiny bunch of attribute points. I wouldn't recommend buying it until the price drops some.
