This is one of the greatest pokemon games ever made. It did just about everything a good remake should do. It kept everything great about the original, and added more good things. The game is full of content and has one of the best postgames in the series. It has a good pokemon selection, great soundtrack, challenging gyms, great locations, good graphics, one of the best rivals in the series, and cool legendaries. The only issues I have with the game, are the villain, and the NPC leveling curves. I found defeating Team Rocket in this game to be a bit lackluster and annoying at times (looking at you statue alarms), especially in comparison to other pokemon games like BW, Emerald, and Platinum. Also, after about the 3rd gym, you have the option to choose which order you can take on the 4th, 5th, and 6th gym leaders. I love that they give you more of an open choice here, but the leveling of the NPCs pokemon teams stay stagnant. Once you've received your 4th badge, the journey for your 5th/6th badges are a cakewalk because now you're overleveled. This mostly becomes fixed after that though, however another leveling issue occurs when you go to Kanto. One minute you're fighting a trainer with level 40-60 pokemon, then the next trainer on the same road will have a level 10 team. These became a slog to battle through. Overall, it was fantastic and is a must have for any pokemon game fan!

Great combat, enemy variety, characters, and story. The squad mechanics are something I wish would've been used in more games since. The soundtrack is wonderful, and the main theme is one of the greatest themes I've ever heard in a video game. The only complaints I have is that it's too short and there was never a sequel. These are the only reasons I did not give it a 10. The game ended on a cliffhanger and continuing the story via a novel written by a random author still irks me. This game deserves a remaster/remake, and a sequel. This game is truly fantastic, and you can tell it was made with love. Highly recommend even today

Never really played a FromSoftware game before picking up Elden Ring, but after this I gotta. This game is one of the best games I've ever played

They could've remade this game by taking into account all the improvements Platinum made to this generation but they decided not too. They made the game even easier, and the chibi overworld looks a bit unusual. They added some new features that improved the game but just like with every new pokemon game there is a step back for every step forward. The exp. share giving all pokemon exp and being required is stupid, but at the very least they changed the exp gain system to what was introduced in Gen 5. Many of the issues that pretty much every pokemon game have once again return to this as well such as the boring/tedious NPC trainer battles, and ridiculous evolution requirements. These games have so much potential but are wasted by terrible decision making.

Not only is this game one of the best Star Wars games ever made, but also one of the best video games ever made! I've obsessively played this game since it released and have beaten it dozens and dozens of times. Every year I make sure to beat it at least once now. It just does everything right. The music, story, characters, and locations are incredible. The gameplay is also really fun, though over time I have noticed it's flaws, but it is a 2003 game so it can be excused. I highly recommend this game.

One of the best Pokemon games ever made! It excels in pretty much every category you look for in a pokemon game. The music, rivals, evil team, locations, gyms, champion, postgame, pokemon, and legendaries were all great!

Incredible combat, great story, entertaining side missions and gorgeous environments with breathtaking graphics. By far the best game of 2020. Anyone who rates this game lower than a 8 has the IQ of a wet blanket. Far better than the Last of Us 2, which isn't saying much considering that game was trash

Pros: 1. Some surprisingly good new pokemon 2. Gym battles were fun 3. Brought back the Exp. Gain based on level relevance system 4. Beautiful scenery 5. Replaced Elite Four with a tournament 6. Sonia, Marnie, Bea, and Nessa are all wife material 7. Raid battles and dynamaxing are a decently fun new addition 8. Great soundtrack, as expected of Pokemon. 9. Decent amount of character customization. Cons: 1. Small postgame 2. Less than 100 new pokemon 3. Some textures were bad 4. Some animations were reused and/or terrible 5. Rivals were once again underwhelming. I miss the Gens 1-5 rivals. 6. Villains were lacking. They weren't that threatening and their story/motivations were poorly explained and very rushed. 7. Terrible legendary boss battle. Summary: The game was actually good overall. It wasn't nearly as good as some of the other core games in Pokemon, and definitely had it's problems, but it was good enough for me to enjoy quite a bit. It does not deserve most of the hate it has received, but Gamefreak could have done alot more and alot better. Still far better than the Let's Go abominations. I give it a solid 7/10.
