While Fallout 2 may have lower low's then Fallout 1, it also has higher highs.

This game has one of the best "romance" or "marriage" type quest lines out of any rpg. The options are so great! More fantasy rpg's can learn from Morrowind on how to do romantic interests correct. Skyrim is pretty weak in comparison, tho this can be reified with a mod if you're on pc. AND you all know what I'm refering to. Play via openMW, its very easy to install. sudo pacman -S openmw. run the installer to the game, seperate install. create ur own paths, you wont be able use MWSE, but meh. You probably won't care about that unless you've been modding the game for 15+ years. LUA will overtake it one day. Hit chance is very basic, but non-rpg (skyrim) players play this RPG, and get confused when this RPG has RPG mechanics. You can build a character with 40+ in a skill easily from level 1. You can make fatigue potions very easily, pop them right before combat. This does not have HP bloated enemies, unlike every future Bethesda game. An master fighter starts and ends combat quickly and efficiently. Maybe the system could use some tweaks, but not removing it entirely. In Oblivion, you are rewarded for increasing your skill with more bloated HP enemies. Skyrim has this problem too at high levels, being 40, at that point, just run past all the draugr deathlords. Fallout 3, famously with the overlords at level 30. New Vegas does not have this problem, tho I think the dlc does.

I just want more fps games like Half-Life is all. Half-Life 1, that is. 75 Characters.

While it has a stronger narrative then the other 2. Blue Shift feels like its missing a chapter or 2. It's still Half-Life, so it's still good. I just wish it was longer, and introduced a new weapon or 2. It does come with the HD pack, tho that is long included with the steam versions. Maybe we should be removing all the score because of that. It completly changes the artstyle of the game, the blue shift HD models are also lower quality then the other 2 expansion's versions. Anyways, regardless, Blue Shift also nicely reanimates a few of the SD viewmodels, which are lost if you use the new models. The mapping is also higher quality then the base game, and OP4. Oh this also came with op4's CTF gamemode, and OP4. Also removes the safedisc requirement for op4. which i didn;t understand as a kid. THat was the reason i couldnt ever play op4. You'd need a cd rom from 1998, or something. And this was Windows XP, before you think I'm talking about 10 lol. Oh well it came in a pack with this. so.

It's not that Half-Life on Ps2 is bad. It's more like they forced me to use the HD models. And I hate the hd models. Otherwise its a solid port. But seriously those hd models. as they completly change the artstyle of the game, especially the weapons, which you'll be starting at for 90% of the game. MP5 turns into a M16, Glock into a Berreta. While Decay is nice to have, this would be a million times better if it included Blue Shift and OP4. tho i guess at the time, BS was the dreamcast exclusive expansion, which was canceled (before or after i dont know). The game shipped on a cd, it's not like they couldn't have swapped it to a DVD. This version also has usb drivers for a keyboard and mouse, if you plug em in. You'd only see that on a proper Ps2, i dunno about pcsx2. Tho there's no point in playing this over the PC version, unless you just like seeing history and differences in console ports. There is differences in the maps, mostly minor, relating to save deletion to save on resources. Oh, theres also no checkpoint system. Remember to save, or you'll have to restart the entire game.

The first half of this game is great, but the 2nd half? Is really slow and sluggish, especially on repeat playthroughs. Starting with Nova Prospeckt, it throws multiple holdout events, which unlike L4D aren't so enjoyable atleast on repeat. Those strider battles, near the end where you just hug a rpg crate. Whereas Half-Life 1 is solid all around, yep even the hated chapters I enjoy. Episode One is basically what the 2nd half of this game is, but if it was solid throughout. Tho you might have fatigue playing through EP1 right after HL2, which is completely valid. You should play it either way. I've played it back 20 years ago, so ya maybe i was more blown away from everything. But the physics are something most modern games just dont bother with.

They replaced all the actual missions of previous games with the most generic sandboxy crap imaginable. Why? Just makes the game completely uninspired. Mafia 3 did the same thing. In previous games you'd have dozens upon dozens of story filled missions, now you only have a handful replaced with you doing a whole bunch of generic sandbox-y openworld mayhem.

There's alot to like about this game. There's also alot to acknowledge how it isn't Fallout. They shoulda made their own IP instead of buying and ruining another. Called it "apocalypse road" or something, maybe even "atom rpg". no complaints, other then the rpg crowd wanting rpg elements in their rpg. i mean who do they think they are? wanting rpg elements in an game sold as rpg. deeper ones at that. i mean if we dare put choice and consequence in a series known for C&C that might harm the console child's brain! It also shoehorns alot of random elements from the previous games. like the brotherhood of steel being on the other side of the coast, but i guess tactics also did that. so. But the Enclave being here is really stupid too. Remember how they got completely destroyed in the 2nd game nad never recovered? well they recovered. well i'd rather have the enclave here then bos, knowing how they shoehorned em into 4 and 76 too.

The tv show may have incinerated the corpse of fallout, a once great rpg series. but this game really gets alot of credit too. if this game didnt redpill you against bethesda i have no idea what will. maybe the pete hines tweets saying he doesnt give a **** about the lore or rpg elements? then why work at rpg company? but bethesda fans like to pretend they care.

You know a strange feeling I'm having here? You wouldn't have downloaded these "Creations" if they was free on the nexus. So why are you pretending they are of anything of worth when there's suddenly a price tag attached? Go to the nexus, get some actually good FREE mods.

The grindathon forever nature of the last few years of updates have really soured this game for me. Can't scavenge water anymore. You basically have to do those radiant quests to get anything in this game, otherwise the loot tables are set so low. If i wanted to do radiant quests unending, i'd buy a subscription to Fallout 76 Plus.

I'm leaving an 10 score for one very simple reason. This is the best and last (official anyways) Fallout game, we'll ever get. There won't ever be another one. The TV show destroyed the chances of that ever happening. Fallout the IP, being owned under bethesda, is now slop for the masses. Enjoy Fallout 76 and Starfield. It's what you deserve. : O hey. The game runs perfectly fine on Proton and Windows 7, but suffers under Windows 11. If your the weirdo using 11, u can download like 3 fixes. You do this for every game older then ur os. be real. or older then you, if ur the 76 target audience. teeheee

Borderlands, not Fallout. Don't be confused. Alot of people think the gameplay is better then previous entries, but that's basically admitting you just want an fps. Factor in what you're shooting (bullet spongey enemies, far worse then the rest of the series) aswell, and the lack of ammo types, suddenly it isn't as good as you think. Weapons in this game feel more like high powered airsoft then actual guns. Ofc, dialogue and solving ethical problems is what you do in a Fallout game, and is also considered gameplay, not just shooting things.

Accidently left an review on the 360 version instead of PC. Since I did, I might as well mention something. While the PC version is a **** port, it's better to play the pc version then the console versions. nowadays it aint that bad. It just had bad performance on old computers, apparently fixed with dxvk, go figure.

Alot of people despise the driving to this game. But one advantage it has, to other GTA games, is the weight vehicles have. If you're driving a dumptruck you'll be able to plow right through a bunch of cars at high speeds. Set the traffic density in settings to max. So many cars. It's great. Physics in general are much better then GTA 5. The map could use some country to spice things up. I remember seeing this game in 2008 on youtube thinking it was the best looking game I've ever seen.

I love the art and cutscenes, but the gameplay causes the score to plummet. Like Far Cry 5, you get a few good story missions then the rest of the game is basically a sandbox. An GTA style mission structure, would've really benefited this game,,,,, like the previous 2 entries in this series. Ofc retain the depth aswell, made you stand out from GTA, other then the older time period.
