Assassin's Creed Shadows5
May 2, 2026
Assassins creed Shadow is the perfect example when woke ideology clashes with a country that love their culture and history to the point that they will fight back. Assassins creed has always been a skilful balance of history mixed with their own story and the history side was thoughtfully studied but for some time the work has been diluted and than bang… Assassins creed shadows, it brought back the duel protagonist feature of Assassin’s creed syndicate and added seperate roles which was bold and it fell flat. The reason one buys an Assassins creed game is simple, they wish to play as a bad ass stealth killing machine that strikes fear into the heart of anyone close, a protagonist that can strike from anywhere and disappear back into the shadows, they got rid of this by introducing archetypes, so you can play as a lumbering all out assault style samurai or a stealthy ninja that sticks to the shadows. This was already dumb but wouldn’t have been bad if you could pick and stick for the game but instead they made it switch back and forward. The game felt half cooked and the protagonists felt uninteresting and forced with cliches, Yasuke felt forced as a character as they were trying to find a black character to fit with the current narrative at the time, he wasn’t some legendary Samurai and in fact never got that title at all, this is something they would have known if they didn’t just do a quick google search and call it a day. He was seen as interesting by Nobunaga and considered a member of the warrior class and was given a sword, stipend and so on but he was never actually given the title of “Samurai” officially, mix this with the fact he lost the interest of the emperor fast and was only in recorded history from 1591-1592 so he lasted a year. What the west don’t realise is his story was the fact he was given the benefits of a samurai but that doesn’t make one a samurai there had to be a ceremony to gain the offical title to which he was never recorded as having, therefore to the west he was a samurai but officially he never was. After a year he left after his master Nobunaaga died, Yasukes whole moment in history could be labeled as right place right time.Away from historical inaccuracy to which I could continue since I’ve studied feudal Japan a lot since I love it, the game play wasn’t bad but didn’t feel like Assassins creed at all and instead felt like a different IPI have no issues with a black main character and encourage it but only in the right times and places, don’t make a story out **** that was only around for one year because it seems like you’re grasping at straws.I was really disappointed as when I heard this was going to take place in Japan I was extremely excited because of all the cool story lines and ninjas and all that, oh well. For the future Ubisoft, don’t move away from what makes Assassins creed what it is and leave the duel protagonists behind, you can keep the play as a man or woman but once picked leave it like that, no more switching during gameplay. For those looking for a cool feudal Japan style game the “Ghost of” series is remarkable, for those looking for good Assassins creed games skip this one.

Rugby League 265
May 1, 2026
Extremely disappointing, I have played every rugby league game out there, I was extremely excited when this game dropped so much I broke my “no pre-order” rule I implemented after the disastrous launch of “Fallout 76” and got it early. Before I really get into it I will offer my congratulations to the team for at least sticking by the game and fixing it, it is a much much better game now than it was on launch. Now let’s get into it an almost complete view of career mode for those looking. Side stepping just simply doesn’t work, I’ve tried by adding 99 stepping and it rarely works and I mean rarely, out of 100 times you’ll land right into the shoulder of the opposite player 99 times, so if you want to be a prime Benji, Ponga or Johnson than good luck. Players still appear out of position some even stupidly so for example, I was playing the St George Dragons and found Payne Haas (a known prop) was playing wing and even better he was the teams kicker, it happens with the Newcastle Knights that a player known as Matthew Hunter (a half, five-eighth) was also playing on the wing for them. Team lists during the game cutscene are to fast and i wish they would extend it by at least 3 more seconds or go back to the rugby league live style of showing it across the bottom which was easier to read. There are no individual stats such as appearances for a single club, tries for a single club, tries in the season and so on despite previous games having this, you can’t track dally m points, the career mode hub screen can have more things added to it like season stats across the league, trophies won and how many etc. Player progression in career mode flat out makes no sense, fast forward two-three years in career mode and no matter what you’ll get 90+ movement which will not change again during the play through. Players will cut you out of the game completely if you are involved to much which is the biggest unrealistic thing in all versions of the game current and previous, especially when you have position that have to have the ball more than others such as hooker, half, five-eighth. No options for interviews or press conferences which is wild since they are a massive part of the game, no cutscenes or anything for if you join a new club, example is if you have 4 premiership wins and are a big overall a cutscene should player where people react to such a signing and so on. No NSW Cup sides, yes you saw that right, in the state the game was made in Australia doesn’t even have its own junior comp, the game launched with the QCup, super league and the championship but no NSW Cup… it’s honestly not good enough, and with the lack of communication for the developer I’d be surprised if we ever get it. If you win player of the year you should get a cutscene and it should be tracked, I mean come on this is CAREER MODE it’s about immersion you can do a lot with the mode if you are creative, the player pool regeneration in club mode is abysmal after the first year or two, you can really only get horrible players with overalls from 60-80 so it’s hard to find actual superstars as the game’s regeneration is really bad and makes club mode playable for around 3 years than it’s best to restart. Taking over as coach of a national team means you are hogtied, I mean it, it literally doesn’t have a quit option… so I hope you’re fine with life in service. Now I’ve said what I wish for now, to leave a final verdict. A fun game with just enough to make it enjoyable, and I mean just. But don’t go into it with high or even average expectations because you’ll be disappointed, Big Ant has shown itself as a very amateurish studio and I hope they continue to work on this game and make it better and implement even some of the stuff I mentioned as it’s what the people do want, and if you make them happy they’ll keep coming back.

EA SPORTS UFC 55

A typical continuation of a EA sports game, small things added in and major things taken out. Like previous years the story is set in stone with same thing over and over with nothing else being different barring a few cutscenes, online play is fine it has some exploits but that’s online fighting games for you. The introduction of multiple submissions is anti climactic, trying to create the narrative in career mode that you’re a master submission artist and yet you have to lay on two or three submissions to tap someone out is very silly, unrealistic and really draws you out of any immersion you somehow built up. I don’t expect the next one to be any better, it’s enjoyable for a hour or so and move on to the next game. I recommend it on special but yeah if you miss it than you won’t be missing anything, especially if you only like offline career mode

Horizon Forbidden West: Complete Edition8

An enjoyable game, I actually got lost in it and found it very engrossing and even found myself caring about characters. The multiple zones are handled well without any feeling rushed and or left behind, I feel if done right many open worlds should have multiple zones to break up game play. The weapons and armour felt alright though it felt less, as more could have been added, the stealth was fine if not a bit to easy. The boss fights felt like big events but in reality they were pretty easy and could have added a bit more, the story was well written I believe, it won’t be a masterpiece but it does the job and brings you in if you let it. The base addition later in the game was good and I love open world games with base building but I was a bit disappointed to find it was just a base in name and you really couldn’t do anything at all with it barring a few things inside that doesn’t account for the actual look or feel for the base. The characters could have been more refined and real looking but I won’t harp on that to much as it wasn’t a big problem just a little one. All in all it is a good game that I enjoyed, although when playing I found myself asking “could it have been more” and if they decide to continue the storyline I hope that they answer that question.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II9

One of my favourite games ever that I hope runs forever, I loved the first game and the second just extended it, the addition of running your own shop as a blacksmith was genius and added more ways to make money and more playability. I love the breaking and repair system of the swords and armour as well as regular clothes, this isn’t a rpg for the casual style gamer nor should it be, the beauty around the game is how hardcore it is (which honestly isn’t that hard), I love the idea of playing as a nobody that works his way to importance in a age where every main character is “special” to make the plot easier. It gives a huge sense of progression at the start you struggle as any normal person would hit with experience and practice you will be taking down three thugs at once, the combat I find to be great albeit, the addition of the “master strike” in this version is much better than the first game and is more forgiving which makes it more casual but I think it was handled perfectly to the point where I personally wouldn’t touch it again in future additions. The stealth I find to be not great but acceptable especially once points are put into it, I love the big battle set pieces. The addition of two zones is also enjoyable and would like to see something similar in any future additions, it’s all honestly great. I also like to thank Warhorse for not bending to the demands for more “woke” stuff, it shows you have a genuine love for this game and what it values, and it worked perfectly clearly. All is needed in future games is just addition and refinement, I can’t wait to play it.

Crimson Desert9

Honestly one of the best games I’ve played in awhile, a breath of fresh air in the current age of traditional developers trying to do the minimum. It contains days of fun to the point where you could easily spend the first 20+ hours in the starting zone, it encourages exploration to the point where the main quest becomes a side quest in a good way, just exploring coming across new missions, areas, armour and weapons is exciting enough. Trading in the traditional “Exp” was a bold move that paid off as it encourages you to level at your own pace, you can rush out and try and find the abyss squares to power level or take it slow. The bosses are a good mix of challenging but rewarding as is the puzzles. As someone that actually bought the game on launch I have extremely enjoyed it. I want to take a moment to shout out the developers, listening to the fans and pumping out patches and adding new items and weapons and so on is just great. In a day where game developers treat the audience like garbage and take them for granted it’s great to see another company show them up. Don’t listen to the negativity and the paid critics that don’t know anything and are just trying to shut down a new player. Keep doing you because it worked massively well.
