Silent Hill 210
Nov 2, 2025
Simply a masterpiece of survival horror gaming! Comparable to the already excellent Resident Evil franchise and The Last of Us: simply put, Silent Hill 2 may not have been the first entry of the series, but it consolidated its place as a fan-favourite for horror nuts everywhere (like myself). What’s there not to like here (besides some of the admittedly clunky melee-gameplay)? The story and characters feel real and grounded in pop-culture’s already horror-obsessed landscape. Silent Hill 2 takes an already great game and brings it into the modern scene with real flare and graphical spectacle! It’s a must-play for sure!

Metal Gear Solid10
Oct 22, 2025
On PlayStation, PS2, PS3, PS4/5 or Nintendo Switch or your fridge (it doesn’t really matter where), Metal Gear Solid is a simple MUST-PLAY **** gem. Hideo Kojima’s baby pioneered modern gaming’s standards for cutscenes and stealth-driven gameplay, also putting the CINEMA in cinematic! Metal Gear Solid went above and beyond to be more than a game and became a genuine piece of art! The story was great, the acting similarly incredible and the music put many multimillion-dollar Hollywood blockbusters of the time to understandable shame. Metal Gear Solid balanced gameplay and cinematic elements to basically show that it worked as an immersive experience as well as being a feature film on the PlayStation (before DVDs were even standard stuff). Metal Gear Solid is a masterpiece: 10/10. 5/5. It’s that simple. It’s one of those rare perfect games that deserves to be played by EVERY self-professed gamer on Planet Earth.

Candy Crush Saga1
Oct 22, 2025
As sweet as diabetes, but as cynical and heartless as corporate fat cats sniffing cocaine off freshly baked donuts and other stuff I can’t be bothered to say. Candy Crush is free: except it really isn’t. You need to pay REAL damn money to basically win the game. So it’s essentially gambling with literal digital candy. The single grade here is for the bright colours on display: but even they get nauseating when looked at for too long. Overall it’s just pathetic.

Crash Bandicoot: On the Run!4
Oct 22, 2025
It doesn’t seem fair reviewing what’s basically a ‘dead game’ (it got discontinued in 2022/2023~), but Crash Bandicoot: On The Run! is definitely a missed opportunity **** that deserved more console-inspired gaming instead of the mobile pay-to-win slop we got. It’s frustrating because all the good stuff was there: the characters, the graphics, the music: it had every right to be a decent Crash Bandicoot game, but the gameplay was basically EVERY endless runner game except it’s got Crash… No innovations, no twists to the formula, no longevity for something as fickle as mobile gaming: just another endless runner game that’s been done to death since Temple Run. The Crash games have fluctuated in quality since Crash 3, and it seemed to stabilise with the N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4; but slop like this comes around and shows there are still lessons to be learned indeed. 4/10.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time8
Oct 18, 2025
Fun and challenging, but lacking some of the magnetic magic of the N Sane Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot 4 is a good button-mashing-time of a platformer to scratch anyone’s itch for demanding but fun-to-overcome gameplay. Your palms may indeed get sweaty (mine did for sure) but it’s worth it for the zany antics and the fun story mode Crash 4 gives players. Overall it’s a good time indeed.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy9
Oct 18, 2025
It’s like Activision decided to give Crash Bandicoot not only a spiritual reboot, but also gave the series a nice spit-shine on its classical Looney-Tunes-influenced animation and gave us gorgeous visuals on par with Pixar films from the 2000s. After eons of Activision seemingly not knowing where to take the franchise following Vivendi-Universal’s total collapse, they took the games from them (including the likes of Spyro) and it took them until the late 2010s to give two of gaming’s most iconic mascots a fighting chance to become relevant for modern gamers again. This trilogy almost deserves to be on an ‘Every PlayStation 4/5 Owner Must-Have This‘ list of game compilations. Good thing it’s also multi-platform too. So what’s there to lose for other gamers not PlayStation-bound? Nothing: because these games are challenging blasts of fun anyone can enjoy fully.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex7
Oct 18, 2025
Entertaining game and deeply nostalgic for some (it was my first Crash game), but up against the original trilogy it stumbles in many notable ways that makes the game well-intentioned, but spikes between too difficult or too easy from level to level make Wrath of Cortex feel like it needed some extra polish to make it even close to Crash Bandicoot 3’s level of polish. Traveler’s Tales, TT, did a good job evoking some of Naughty Dog’s game design philosophy, though the whole ‘it’s done to continue the franchise forward rather than innovate’ thing does become telling with some rinse-and-repeat design choices. All that said, TT showed with this game they CAN continue what someone else started. They could ‘carry someone else’s baton’ if necessary. Wrath of Cortex is a flawed classic you could say. Playable but a tad spotty. Frustrating but only so much that you still feel the need to continue playing. Crash Bandicoot is definitely one of gaming’s most tried franchises, and as of 2025 it’s still going strong with speed runners and the remakes of the trilogy.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge9
Oct 17, 2025
Lovely. Lovely, lovely, LOVELY 90s-inspired retro-style beat-‘em-up fun at its very best! Short length aside, the replay value here is insane, and the visuals and multiplayer keep you coming back for more servings of action.

Outlast8
Oct 17, 2025
Damn good and genuinely terrifying game; some issues with loading screens and ‘scene-buffers’ aside (where the enemies seemingly can’t fit themselves into tight gaps you can get into), Outlast is a bowel-emptying journey into insanity and Splatter-Fest like Hellraiser and Hostel mixed with Batman’s Arkham Asylum (sans ANY fighting or self-defence, or Batman) and the supernatural touches of Akira. It’s indie-horror gaming done right, and deserving of a remake on Unreal Engine 5 (which would have crazy improvements from Unreal Engine 3’s limitations), without people forgetting the good game that’s right here.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 210
Oct 16, 2025
Simply heavenly games given their deserved rerelease on the Nintendo Switch. Sure there’s issues with some of the motion controls, but there are button mapped options addressing the spin attack and the screen-sensor (something every game should have: reset buttons for screen-based cursor tracking). The two Super Mario Galaxy games have aged incredibly well, and even compare to the likes of 2017’s Mario Odyssey.

Superman: The Man of Steel0
Apr 30, 2023
A woefully bad video game that insults one of the greatest superheroes ever with a broken hodgepodge of awful controls, eyesore cutscenes, a story that doesn’t stand on its own and poorly adapts the mythos as well as the characters being miscast with actors who… just didn’t seem to care about the project at all. It’s a damn shame, and it’s a waste of time that embarrassed Xbox players everywhere. But every console has its turkeys. That’s just a hard fact with gaming as a whole. Even the NES, SNES and PS2 had their fair share of atrocious turkeys that tried cancelling out every Mario, Zelda or God of War game on their respective platforms. Superman deserves better than being cursed with the world’s WORST superhero video games ever made. Yeah; this one **** JUST as bad as Superman 64.

Charlie's Angels0
Nov 11, 2022
This game is TERRIBLE! It takes everything from Batman Beyond PS1/N64, the broken aimless gameplay of Superman 64, and the crassness that would make even the worst Sonic games would find cringy, and it’s a movie game from the 2000s: a known **** subgenre that got great video game tie-ins once in a full-moon. Oh yeah: the fan service **** too. It’s no fun if the gameplay is actually unplayable like this steaming pile of goat muck was.

Hades10
Nov 1, 2022
One word: transferring! Or maybe just cross-saving between here and the Nintendo Switch, Mac-OS and Linux. This version can give you the ability to transfer your saves from here to Nintendo and the Epic Games Store. This is a great step forward for cross-platforming, even if it doesn’t involve actual multiplayer itself; but the point here is that a game as investing, frustrating yet rewarding as Hades has this function is definitely noteworthy and something other games are SURE to adopt in the future. The story is great: layered even in its ‘repetitious’ Groundhog-Day-like storytelling, the gameplay is nice and punchy, and the soundtrack adds to the relentless challenge that is Hades. As the Son of Hades, Zagreus must escape his father’s clutches or forever suffer the Underworld’s all-encompassing grasp on the world of the dead. Zagreus must break the cycle and find out the truth about his mother, if he can even get himself there. Hades is a blast with enough modern vibes and retro ones to make it an experience for newcomers and veteran hardcore gamers alike. Needless to say, this game is a CHALLENGE! But a fun one.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade10
Nov 1, 2022
Boom, Baby! This remake is a fantastic continuation and expansion of FFVII Remake: adding to Final Fantasy VII’s legacy as one of gaming’s most important cornerstones to ever come out of Japan. The game still has all the good stuff from the PS4 release, and then some extra stuff with the Yuffie chapter. What’s not to like here? If you played the last one, you can carry your data over without fail, and it backtracks your story-based trophies too. Though it’ll become a little tricky making sure you’re up to speed with BOTH the PS4 and PS5 versions (if you haven’t finished the prior version completely) in terms of the Trophies; that’s one thing that could be addressed if it hasn’t already, as in PS5-to-PS4 data transferring so as to make things a little less cumbersome. Final Fantasy remains a strong and completely relevant, important franchise in gaming and still innovates in the J-RPG scene with every release.

BioShock Infinite10
May 23, 2013
Bioshock Infinite is THE best FPS shooter since Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark on the N64. Not only does this instalment of the Bioshock franchise feel like an old school styled game but it also has that same feeling that I've been missing dearly since I last played those games. The Halo games lacked the sensational feeling of the two great shooters on the N64. In fact, most games lately have deviated in terrible ways. FPSs have become Call of Duty knock offs, even though call of Duty ripped everything in the franchise from pre-existing franchises also. Bioshock Infinite has finally come out at a time where video games in general have been disappointing lately, especially in light of big-name titles, like Halo 4 from last year. Bioshock Infinite is just a wildly good time with your console. You'll be sleeping in late because of how good the game is. I was a victim of staying up for hours playing this masterpiece to death. It's a game that's more than a franchise game: it's art. The environment of the game is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and we all know how pixels can make potentially beautiful things turn ugly. Thankfully, this is not the case here. I can't recommend this game highly enough. If you're just going to get ONE game this year, THIS IS THE GAME TO TAKE HOME! I give Bioshock Infinite 5/5 stars. One of my new all-time favourite video games.

Mass Effect 210
Nov 14, 2012
Mass Effect 2 is a game meant for people who want an experience, and not just "play" a video game. You live the game and saviour every single second of this magnificent space opera. This game is one of the few modern games that has a classic gaming feel to it. It is also like "Science Fiction Porn"; there are so many things that are "spacey" and future-esque some hardcore nerds would probably **** in their pants. If that wasn't erotic enough for fan boys, there's also romantic relations you can start with your crew, even the aliens. The story may not have the surprise of the first one, but it certainly lives up to it. The first Mass Effect was more about soaking in the story and the feel of living in the future. This one has stronger character relationships and has more intense side missions than the first one. Mass Effect 2 is more an action game than Mass Effect 1, but it is still very involving action. Mass Effect 2 is not a video game; it is a piece of art.

Angry Birds Star Wars10
Nov 12, 2012
This is the finest Angry Birds game Rovio has made so far. What is there not to like about the game? You get elements of both the original Angry Birds and Angry Birds in Space and birds that have the abilities of Star Wars characters like the force, lightsabers and blasters. Just imagine Angry Birds mixed in with the story of the Original Star Wars Trilogy and you have this masterpiece ****. Don't watch any trailers for this game. Play it without watching anything about it beforehand. That helps with the wow factor of this game. It's a gorgeous mixture. Be warned: This game is insanely addictive.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception10
Oct 23, 2012
A masterpiece in the world of gaming. Don't listen to any of the negative reviews. Those idiots prefer CoD or some other crap, and they clearly haven't even played the game themselves. Uncharted 3 is a masterpiece **** and is a gorgeous cinematic experience that stands out from the cliched cinematics used today. I can honestly say that the Uncharted Trilogy is the only fantastic trilogy of games aside from Mass Effect. These two trilogies show that gaming is a form of art just like cinema.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots10
Oct 23, 2012
Need I say more about this game other than it being a complete masterpiece? Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is one of the few games that have a truly cinematic experience that works equally with the gameplay. Too many games nowadays take the cinematics for granted and they start to lose their charm when abused. When done right with games like Uncharted, Zelda, Mass Effect or Metal Gear Solid, the games are just absolutely gorgeous and are visual and playable treats. Solid Snake, even as an old guy, is still a badass. This was the first MGS game I ever played, and it is still the best, followed closely by MGS3.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker0
Oct 17, 2012
This is the only game that I can think of that is so bad that it's fantastic. It's not like Superman 64 where the game was so bad that it was just flat out bad. This is **** Batman. He can't fly or anything. He is the best superhero in the world and they treat him like a bloody rag-doll or punching dummy. Almost every cinematic scene after a boss fight has a cutscene where Batman collapses backwards onto the ground like a domino or inflatable punch 'em clown, or like a model falling backwards against the wind. Batman of the Future: Return of the Joker (the Australian title of the game) is such a guilty pleasure that it should be punishable by death to have pleasure from playing this disaster.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time10
Oct 17, 2012
It's Super Mario 64 mixed with Lord of the Rings epicness. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a damn fine game to play any time at all. Who doesn't love Link time-travelling between the present and the future using the Temple of Time as the portal? When I first played this I was overwhelmed by how epic it was. They just don't make video games like this anymore, except for the recent Zelda games.

Super Mario 6410
Oct 17, 2012
Forget the game being called "one of the best games ever made"; this is probably THE best game ever made. Super Mario 64 has aged so well it's almost surreal. Well Nintendo knows how to deliver the goods for their devoted fans. I've kept playing this game ever since I was about five or something. It is still so much fun to play and enjoy. This is what video games should be, although I do forgive some FPSs/other shooters if they have strong stories and entertainment value. In terms of pure fun and joy, Super Mario 64 is the best game ever made. Well done Nintendo for making the perfect game, and for letting Mario have Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 as the equally perfect sequels to this groundbreaking game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 27
Oct 17, 2012
While this is a fun game to play with friends, there are some things in this game that will surely disturb many non-hardcore gamers, like the "No Russian" mission. Aside from that, MW2 is good fun, just not great. It's the perfect game to play with friends, but you might as well play another game if you're on your own, like Bioshock.

Mass Effect10
Oct 8, 2012
I've played a lot of Science Fiction games during my lifetime. I can honestly say that Mass Effect is the best game in the genre. The opening backstory "Mass Effect" is not so amazing to start off with, but then you see the impact of the backstory right before your eyes as you progress through the game. The story keeps getting stronger and more exciting from there, and more emotional. The game was so good that I couldn't wait for Mass Effect 2: an amazing game that while being great, lacks some of the feel that I felt when playing the first Mass Effect. Play Mass Effect. If you haven't, you should. This is the kind of video game not meant for gamers. This one is based around character development, story and moral choices that are hard to achieve in this gaming age.
