Luigi's Mansion 310
Aug 6, 2020
Luigi’s Mansion 3 is the 3rd installation in Nintendo’s Ghostbuster-inspired franchise. The game takes place in a hotel, where Mario, Peach and 3 Toads get kidnapped by the hotel’s ghosts. Luigi, with the use of Professor Gadd’s newest Poltergust and the guidance of Polterpup, his ghost dog pet, has to explore the 17 different levels of the hotel in order to free his friends. The game is played from a fixed 3rd person camera. For Luigi’s different abilities, there is the option to use the triggers/shoulder buttons or the normal buttons for an old school style. Using the shoulder buttons feels better since sometimes Luigi needs to move, aim with the right stick and use his abilities at the same time. In comparison with previous installations, the game offers more exploration, new Poltergust abilities and co-op gameplay. Playing with a friend is the best way to experience the game and makes the gameplay feel more comfortable and easier than playing solo. There were times where gameplay felt like it was designed especially for co-op. For example, in some boss fights, swiftly changing between Luigi and Gooigi was a bit challenging in single player compared to playing co-op. The multiplayer mode is not the game’s strongest point, but it is decent nevertheless; Games on the Switch that offer up to 8 player gameplay both locally and offline are always welcome. Nintendo also released a DLC multiplayer pack which adds a variety of stages and styles of multiplayer mini-games to enrich the multiplayer experience. With regard to graphics, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is one of the best-looking games on the system. The game looks awesome in both handheld and docked mode, presenting a perfect combination of vibrant colors, polished art style, and spooky atmosphere. Overall, Luigi’s Mansion 3 is a significant improvement upon its predecessors and offers a very charming experience and one of the best co-op experiences on the console. Multiplayer mode is a neat plus for enjoying various mini-games with up to 8 players.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition10
May 3, 2020
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an Open-world Action RPG game which was initially released back in 2015. The story revolves around Geralt, whose current journey is about finding Ciri, his adopted daughter and destroy the Wild Hunt, a mysterious organization who is after her. In spite of the fact that it is the 3rd game in the franchise, it is independent of the previous ones, meaning that it is not needed to have played the previous games to understand this one's story. What makes this game so special, is the fact that it offers an impressive combination of open-world, storytelling, music, and combat. The Witcher 3's world is captivating, with charming sceneries, combined with magnificent dark ambient music, which will keep you engaged right from the first minutes of the game. As far as combat goes, it is satisfying and pretty intense, just like you would expect from an action game. However, where the game truly shines is its storytelling; this is the greatest storytelling I have experienced in a video game; from the main story to simple side quests, its dialogues, characters, and the overall narrative are significantly stimulating. You are going to find yourself "lost" in its world, exploring and making quest for many hours. The Switch port stands close to other console ports considering how inferior the console's power is compared to PS4 and Xbox One. The game's visuals are blurrier than when playing the game on any other system and the framerate has a few "hiccups" sometimes (mostly on cinematics). However, none of the above reasons take away from the experience. CD Project Red had to "sacrifice" various things to make such a huge and demanding game (plus all of its DLC) run on Nintendo's console and the final result is phenomenal for Switch's capabilities, especially in handheld mode. In conclusion, Witcher 3 is indeed one of the greatest, if not, the greatest action RPG ever created. A masterpiece in all aspects that should be experienced by every gamer.

Shadow of the Colossus10
Mar 14, 2020
Shadow of the Colossus is the perfect example of a remake done right. Gameplay and artwork are completely identical to the original PS2 version with minor to no changes which shows how much the original version was ahead of its time. The only thing that changed are the graphics which have received a major upgrade to fit the newest generation of video games and framerate is solid 30fps, making battles with the colossi look more eye-catching than ever. For those who experience the game for the first time, it is a completely mesmerizing game with deep and dark atmosphere, story, art direction and gameplay. It is a dark journey to the Forbidden Lands which every gamer should take. As for those who’ve played the original, do yourself a favor and play this outstanding remake. It is a downright masterpiece.

Collection of Mana8
Feb 18, 2020
Since this is a collection, I would like to review the games separately. Regarding Final Fantasy Adventure, the first game in the Mana franchise, it is my favorite Game Boy game from all Game Boy systems' libraries. The game draws inspiration from The Legend of Zelda 2D games with neat 8bit graphics, fast action combat and nice story; it is really easy to get into. In spite of the fact that this is an old Game Boy game, its simplicity is what makes the game addictive, charming and able to stand through time. 10/10 As for Secret of Mana, this was the first time that I have ever played the game. However, its real-time/stamina combat feels really slow and everything from using items to casting spells feels very clunky. It is far from a bad game and I totally understand that this is an old game and one of the first couch co-op action rpgs which was the pioneer for the creation of many action rpgs nowadays. I wanted to love the game, I really did. People who played this game in their childhood will definitely feel the SNES nostalgia, but for someone who experiences it for the first time, Secret of Mana is going to feel undoubtedly aged. 7/10 On the other hand, Trials of Mana is the definition of "making a sequel right". It significantly improved over its predecessor, with faster combat and better gameplay overall. However, I have to highlight that although its combat is faster than Secret of Mana, it's still slower than Final Fantasy Adventure's combat. I had a good time playing the game and it was nice that Square Enix gave us the option to play the original Trials of Mana before the release of its remake in 2020. 8/10 Overall, it is a solid package for its price and playing this games on the Switch feels "right at home".

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening10
Feb 18, 2020
Link's Awakening is a remake of the 1993 Game Boy game of the same title. it is the only Zelda game (at least to my perception), that does not have Zelda and/or Ganon but has completely different characters; and talking about different, Nintendo went really crazy with adding characters from other Nintendo franchises like Kirby, Yoshi, Goombas, Boos, Piranha Plants and many others. It does sound crazy, but it sure does work a lot! The game is significantly balanced between staying faithful to the original version and having additions (attacking diagonally, jump attack etc.) which combined with fantastic art style make the game look really fresh and new. The graphics are absolutely stunning in both handheld and docked mode; Link, Marin and the whole Koholint island look more cute and charming than ever. However, there are some frame drops here and there in the outer world, but they do not affect gameplay and I am sure that Nintendo will definitely improve the game to perfection with future updates. The game could be on the easy side for some, but Nintendo has Hero Mode available right from the start for those who look for some real challenge. Moreover, the ability of creating your own dungeons at "Dampé's Shack" adds a lot of replay value to the game. Overall, Link's Awakening is a fantastic experience on the Switch. Nintendo brought back the 2D/2.5D Zelda formula in an exeptional way. It is not only one of the reasons to own a Nintendo Switch, but it could also work as an introduction to the whole Zelda franchise. People who played the original will feel the nostalgia right from the start and those who never experienced the game before, will definitely have a unique and memorable experience. I just cannot recommend the game enough.

Hollow Knight10
Feb 18, 2020
As charming as it looks, the game is significantly difficult borrowing elements from games like Dark Souls, so be prepared for a really tough and challenging journey to the depths of Hallownest. You are going to die a lot; I mean, A LOT! However, being patient and trying to learn patterns from bosses is of major importance to proceed in the game. Each world you explore has its own charm with fantastic artwork, mesmerizing atmosphere and gorgeous soundtrack which will keep you engaged for many hours. The story is really dark and deep which gets slowly unveiled as you progress, but bear in mind that the only way to unlock the real ending is to progress 100%, of the walkthrough. Overall, Hollow Knight is indeed a masterpiece and a must-have game for the Switch. A unique journey that every gamer should take.

Oninaki9
Feb 18, 2020
At first glance, the game's atmosphere and art style approach brought to my mind games like Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler. As charming as it looks, Oninaki's is really dark and heavy. The story is just descent and a bit complicated, but with some very interesting and notable moments (won't say more, I don't want to spoil anything to you). Especially the background stories/memories of your Daemons are compelling and in combination with chilling ambient background music, they create a mesmerizing atmosphere. The gameplay is solid for sure (and for me, really addictive) but some could say it is repetitive; getting a mission, travel to its location, kill its monsters and its final boss. It is not very fast but at the same time not very slow for an action game. The customization of your Daemons (weapons, skills) is well made and you can use the "points" you have for each Daemon not only for unlocking new skills, but also for unlocking its memories. Personally, I never felt that grinding was boring. I found myself playing for many hours, trying to proceed with the main story, clear each and every monster on both worlds of that location and even revisited some locations not only for side missions (lost souls), but also because I really wanted to power up some Daemons to use them as mains and learn their whole background stories. On the other hand, the game is not perfect. I noticed a few framerate drops in the main city and some bugs with regard to the characer models and their appearance (auras etc.). Loading times are a bit long and the overall graphics for the handheld mode could be less "blurry" and more "sharp". HD rumble is not present despite the fact that the game could really benefit from that feature. However, all these downsides, which could be improved by a future update, do not take away anything from the overall experience; the game is totally playable. All in all, Oninaki has a lot of potential. It combines interesting ideas and aristic approach , but its mediocre story and small flaws keep it from being perfect and my final thoughts were that it is good, but it could offer more. Apart from that, I had a great time playing it and got attached to its gameplay and art style. It is a chilling and solid Action JRPG and i recommend it for fans of the genre.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures9
Feb 15, 2020
The only thing that Four Swords Adventures has as a drawback is its the way it utilizes local multiplayer. For 2-4 Players you need the following: 1) 2-4 Game Boy Advance systems and 2) 2-4 GBA-to-Gamecube cables If you can obtain this setup, the game is one of the greatest multiplayer experiences on the system; an excellent co-op 2D Zelda game with graphics and mechanics similar to "A Link to the Past" and "The Minish Cap". Played this a lot with friends and cannot describe how much fun we had.

Much more impressive than a normal soccer game with all those impressive passes, dribbles and shots. The PS2 multitap adapter works, but in a very weird way for no reason and you need four Dualshock 2 controllers for a 4-player experience. Apart from that, its a unique soccer game to kill time playing casually with your friends.

Dead Space: Extraction8
Feb 1, 2020
Dead Space: Extraction is a prequel to the first Dead Space. Thegame is a bit short and story is not its strongest point. However, where the game shines, is its gameplay: Excellent solid rail shooter gameplay which works amazing with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk (Wii Zapper also works great). A must-have game for the Wii, which can be enjoyed both sigle player or co-op.

Champions of Norrath is Action RPG at its finest. Diablo players will feel right at home with the fast hack and slash gameplay. It is one of the few PS2 games which makes use of the PS2 multitap efficiently, by making your PS2 offer a fantastic local 4-player dungeon crawling experience. One of the best multiplayer games on the PS2 and a reason to own a PS2 multitap adapter for the system.

Mega Man 118
Aug 29, 2019
Mega Man 11 is a milestone for Capcom establishing Mega Man in the modern era of video games. Overall, the game looks really fresh. Graphics look better than ever and gameplay is your classic Mega Man gameplay combined with a new feature, the Gear System. Don't let the cute graphics distract you; the game follows the difficulty of its predecessors and is hard as hell, even in normal mode. However, the game gives you the option to choose your difficulty level. "Newcomer" mode makes the gameplay more forgiving and gives the feeling of a chilling platformer, while raising the difficulty takes challenge to a whole new level. I played the whole game on Newcomer mode (since I've hardly any experience with Mega Man games) and enjoyed it a lot! Another great platforming experience added to the Switch library. Recommended both for people who want challenging platformers and chilling/relaxing platformers.

The game's story could be described as descent or mediocre but where the game shines is its gameplay. An action mecha game which combines 3rd person shooter and hack and slash/action elements. People who like mecha games and action games in general will definitely enjoy it.

Played it on the Wii's Virtual Console. I dare to say that the game aged pretty well throughout the years. A great shooter from Nintendo which is still very playable and fun even nowadays.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse8
Aug 13, 2019
This game is a combination of platforming and metroidvania elements. Although I prefer "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero" ( which feels more like a traditional platformer) over this game, I still enjoyed "The Pirate's Curse" and had a lot of fun playing it. Fans of the Shantae series or platformer and metroidvania gamers in general would feel right at home with this game. A solid game which people should add to their Switch collection.

Shadow of the Colossus10
Jun 24, 2019
A masterpiece indeed. The game is completely mesmerizing with its deep dark atmosphere, art direction and excellent gameplay. The game pushed the PS2 at its limits since it couldn't sustain a 30fps cap and being between 15 to 20-25ish fps; however, in some weird and charming way, this does not take away from the overall experience at all; a dark journey to the Forbidden Lands which every gamer should take. It is one of the greatest experiences I had in video games, which has put Shadow of the Colossus in my all-time favorite video game list.

Jun 4, 2019
This game is the perfect combination of hack and slash with puzzle, action-adventure and exploration gameplay. Fans of God of War, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta and Legend of Zelda will feel right at home with this game. The inspiration from the above games is obvious, but Darksiders does not copy them i a bad way; the game is its own great and unique experience. THQ Nordic did a fantastic job by porting the first game of one of their best franchises onto Switch. For those who missed the original or any of the Warmastered Edition versions, now is the time to jump in one of the greatest action-adventure **** the go.

Sine Mora EX8
Jun 2, 2019
This game perfectly combines classic vertical shoot 'em up gameplay with excellent 2.5D graphics. The game's mechanics are easily understood from the very beginning. The game follows the typical shoot 'em up recipe; Play-die-learn-repeat. As it progresses, the game's challenge becomes higher and higher and if you loose all your lives it's game over; you start from the very beginning. Punishing, but this is what shoot 'em ups are for; offering a lot of challenge and replayability from it. And this game significantly achieves that. A great Switch port and the best shoot 'em up game for the Switch till now.

A fantastic FPS game which combines shooting with a bit of exporation. A great port for the nintendo switch. Looks amazing both portable and docked. The solo/single player game is really addictive and will keep you occupied for many hours. Multiplayer can be a bit weird since there is no split-screen. Also, you cannot remove the time limit which restrains you to 3-minute fights, which is a very small amount of time for fights. Even though it's not as good as Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi is, it's a game that I would recommend for Dragon Ball fans mainly for the great single player experience it offers.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition9
Dec 24, 2018
One of my favourite games coming on the Switch. A very nice port indeed. The graphics are between the original and the special edition released for the PS4. However, although I found myself playing for hours, the graphics betray the fact that this is a 7-year old game, which is going to be a deal breaker for some. In addition, the mods would be a great addition but Bethesda chose not to include them. So the overall package is vanilla Skyrim with the DLC included and slightly improved graphics (that's why I can't give it a perfect 10); On the other hand, its great to have one of the best games of all time on the go. If you are a Skyrim veteran, you're definitely going to enjoy revisiting the world of Skyrim one more time and on the go, but keep in mind that it's the exact same game you played back in 2011. If you've never played Skyrim before, just do yourselves a favor and go grab it. It's one of the best action/open world/rpg games of all time; you won't regret your purchase.

When I played this game for the first time it brought me other games on mind like Destiny, Skyrim and Star Wars Battlefront II (when you fight as a starship in space). This game perfectly combines 3rd person shooter gameplay with open world exploration and rpg elements. Ubisoft did a fantastic job with excellent graphics and addictive gameplay. The story is not a big deal but you will find yourself playing for hours exploring the different planets and space and completing various side missions on each planet. Even if you just go for the completion of the main story, the game still has plenty of stuff to offer you to do. in spite of the fact that it can turn or feel repetitive, in my opinion it's not a game that you are going to play all day-every day. The multiplayer works great; It was amazing chilling with a friend, exploring a specific planet, completing missions and upgrading our ships and weapons. Overall, the game is outstanding for what-it-is; an open-world 3rd person shooter with rpg elements.
