Marvel Rivals7
Dec 11, 2024
Marvel Rivals excels in character design and presentation. It also borrows a lot of character abilities from other hero shooters while making those abilities adhere more so to character lore. Where it wanes in value is in damage balancing, and time to kill. Something the developer seems to be actively adjusting. For now it's an above average experience, but could use work.

Conan Exiles5
May 14, 2018
For me this was a "5" affair. It had engaging and grind worthy game play that kept me occupied, and interested, but failed to maintain the passion that was seen in the intro's cinematic sequence. It felt more or less like a re-skin and reworking of 'ARK: Survival Evolved' with a Conan theme tacked on. Even more disappointing was the fact that one of the game's key selling points, the partial nudity, was censored on console making the sales pitch misleading. The added fact that the option to toggle on/off partial nudity is still available in-game further proves it was the publishers/developer's choice to censor the game's more maturely inviting feature. It could have been so much better.

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR8
May 14, 2018
This is actually a re-release of "MegaDimension Neptunia VII". It contains the original story driven content with what appears to be slightly reworked UI in the battle system, and a new VR focus in the form of VR headset compatibility. There are new VR functions which allow for the player to get immersed in one-on-one social session with their favorite Neptunia Goddesses via a special menu accessed social space that is separate from the main game. This more personal aspect of the game isn't perfect, but it adds a depth of personality not seen from Neptunia's main characters previously. An experience that can thankfully be enjoyed with or without the VR headset. The downside if any is the in-your-face screen covering battle UI, and the sometimes awkward VR moments that border on creepy.

Tekken 74
May 5, 2018
The 6.8 user score speaks the truth, if not generously so. This entry in the Tekken series is far from perfect. In fact it is Harada's own fault for it being this way. He expected the players to endure unfair gameplay mechanics he applied, and at a convention even flaunted a shirt that had on it, "Don't Ask Me For ****". It is this lack of caring for the community that got him where he is today that ultimately ruined the experience. I can't count on all my digits how many times I have gone online to try and enjoy the competitive side of Tekken 7 only to have the worst fighting game experience imaginable. All, because of the crowd Harada tried to connect with. The most toxic of gaming communities, the casual crowd.

Streets of Red: Devil's Dare Deluxe9
May 3, 2018
Streets of Red is a fun take on the brawler genre. It's bloody, somewhat gory, and smooth in regards to gameplay. I enjoyed the added combo, and fatality system. The way it was implemented is genius. By keeping the controls simple, but changing the way actions were accounted for you could pull off some sick feats in-game. My only complaint if any is that the survival mode feels tacked on, and not as fulfilling as the game's main campaign. The fact that Jim Sterling was a boss was also notable.

Phantom Trigger1
May 3, 2018
As a chosen reviewer I found this game to be a huge disappointment. It lacked direction, a tutorial, controls explanation, and a mechanics breakdown. The pop-up menus were confusing as were certain in-game elements. I never finished the game, and only made it to the first puzzle before giving up. It's a really bad experience that had potential.

Monster Hunter: World8
May 3, 2018
Monster Hunter World is not without it's flaws. I've encountered login bugs that give error codes, hit box issues with the monsters, and matchmaking problems. That being said I continue to play it, because it's an overall fun game to play. I think Capcom did well with this new take on the Monster Hunter genre/formula. Hopefully they work out the kinks before the game progresses any further though. On a final note I find event exclusive costumes that have their stickers, and emotes locked behind a paywall to be problematic. I feel this additions should come free with the themed event costumes.

Survive Mr. CUBE!8
May 3, 2018
Survive! Mr.cube is a simple and somewhat inspired take on the twin stick, and rogue-lite genres. While initially frustrating due to less than capable characters you will eventually enjoy a playthrough with a protagonist which will allow you to enjoy the game as it is meant to be enjoyed. I'd say it's part Diablo in design, and carries with it a clean cut indie flair that is all it's own. For me it's worthy of a recommendation, and with the price point accounted for you'll definitely be getting your money's worth. Also to note it's one of the easiest games to platinum.
