Sometimes critics get in a tiffy over the dumbest things. This game is great. Am I a hardcore Contra fan? Nope. Did I play the original games during the NES days? Just as much as anyone else, yes. I honestly cannot believe the dumb things people are complaining about, like the story. Who effing cares? Or they complain that it doesn't offer anything new? WHAT?! How does Shredder's Revenge offer nothing new and get 8 and 9's but a game like this that offers quality of life improvements and amazing graphics and feel just like the original games. My only complaint wasthe frame rate on the Switch. This game is fun as he'll and it's not easy butat least we're given a life meter and some interesting perks to choose from. And it's 4 player!! This game is an easy 9.0.

Given all the praise this game has gotten, I couldn't ignore it any longer. I can confidently confirm that this game is one of the most creative games on the planet. In a lot of ways it even excels the likes of Mario Galaxy. Astro Bot keeps re-inventing itself with fun new gadgets to use and it never gets boring. This game is pure joy and spectacle. And with all the great cameos from past video game icons and stages devoted to IP's like Uncharted, I think they've outdone themselves. I can't imagine a sequel being any better than this. Even after you finish it, the re-playability keeps me coming back. I haven't been this addicted to a game since I was a kid in the 90's. For anyone interested, note that optional parts of the game can be challenging but the game is very approachable and even the most novice of players will have a great time. I really hope that we will see more 3-D platformers like this in the future.

I bought this game on a whim because I heard so many people having fun playing it. Well, ****... I have stopped playing all of my other games to play this multiplayer funfest and I haven't played an online multiplayer game since the original Destiny.. Single story driven games only, but Helldivers 2 is just too much fun to play with or without friends. Unless you opt out, random players will usually join your game anywhere in the middle of it to help out and usually it only makes more enjoyable and easier to get more directives done in the time allotted. I can't remember the last time I spent only $40 to play a game I can not stop playing and I'm in my 40's.

Anyone not giving this game at least a 9, are little kids expecting a Call of Duty experience. This game is an absolute masterpiece. The type of game that you may need to die a few times until it clicks for you. And it clicks with most people in one sitting. This game is gorgeous and has improved the original in so many ways, I couldn't list them all here. Buy this game. You may end up playing through it (via New Game Plus) several times.. This game sets the bar for survival horror games that winks at the player with humor to boot. A+

Ok Holy S#iT. If you're old enough to fondly remember the old Ghost ,' Goblins/Ghpuls n' Ghosts games of the 80's/90's and you still play, be warned you will die A LOT. Buy it when it's on sale. Sometimes the game is truly unfair but if you don't mind pressing the retry button you MIGHT enjoy this f*cker most of the time if you still urge for this brutal difficulty at times... MOST of the time. Side note: Bring back the MAXIMO series, Capcom! BRING IT ON!

Yes, this game is ultimately a disappointment. It's story is generic, and the latter part of the game is overlong and embarrassingly pretentious. The game isn't at all bad, it's just nowhere near the perfect game the original was. If you were pissed about having to play as Joel at the end of the first game, you're going to despise playing as some of the worst characters ever in a video game here. It's technically gorgeous but I think the original benefited with Naughty Dog working as a team. In this game it just feels like Neil's pompous ego driving the game making decisions. I regret my $180 collector's edition purchase. But the game itself is worth playing as long as you're not bothered that it makes the original masterpiece a little less special. Angry Joe's review sums it up'. I'll never play this game again while I've played through the original 3 times.

This game is for a certain type of person that likes to chill and just collect things and who doesn't get entirely upset if something that seems a little unfair kills you and all that inventory you collected and what's more the inventory that you discard just to FIT the inventory that you've found because of such small inventory **** get people annoyed. This game was changed at the last minute to be more of a survival game but I think they went a little bit too far in that direction. And what's more is the fact that this game BEGS to be online with friends in space to find and yet there's none of that and yet they took what would have been a $20-$30 indie game and made it a full priced game at $60 was just plain wrong. Read all the reviews, not just the numbers and if you're still on the fence, I can recommend this game when it goes on sale at $40, tops. The game is a 6.5 right now and potentially can become an 8 with the right patches but who knows what they'll do. It's just a humble team of 10 developers.

Words can not describe how amazing this game is. This game is a reason to upgrade to a PS4. Even after you've exhausted yourself with the great single player story and all the possible ways you can play and collect all of the treasures, notes, and trophies, there is an absolutely fantastic multiplayer mode that seriously deserves your attention. It's easily the best they've done so far. It reminds me of how much fun we all had when playing Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare so many years ago. This game is nothing like that but that feeling of playing something new and exciting that's loads of fun again is here. This game is a must buy.

Any fan of the previous 2 LBP games will surely like this one just as much. But there's 2 problems, one of them game breaking. There's a reason why sites like IGN gave it a low score. But first, fear not because it has the same feel and tone as the older ones and the game looks better than ever. Also, if you're a new member to Team Sony, PS4 owners, fear not as there are basic tutorials to make you familiar with the basics. Which are, honestly, simple enough already and it's story is more or less it's own. Now as far as the PS3 version, which I bought a physical copy of, as of this reviews post, January 23, 2015, I can tell you that the game is still full of game breaking glitches and bugs throughout and yes, I have downloaded all the patch fixes up to this date. We've had to reset the game many times due to getting stuck in level and the suicide option (hold "X" to retry) only puts you in the same stuck place. And then there's the game not unlocking the next planet and having to watch the cut scenes again until you trick the game into thinking what it suppose to think and unlock the next level. All these problems will hopefully be addressed soon but one problem that wasn't an issue with the other games in the series are amazingly long loading screens. Even if you are just replaying a level that you're already playing the blindingly bright white loading screen shows up for what feels like a couple minutes breaking the immersion we had playing the game. It's frustrating. And I'm the guy that would defend Modnation Racers loading screens! If you have a PS4, assume the loading screens will be more tolerable but on the PS3 they can get annoying. Now as far as the amazing amount of bug and glitches, they should really be embarrassed that they released such an untested game, skipping the game testing process in hopes that they'll find and fix the game eventually if any bugs were found. Some review scores reflect this and they'll never get those numbers back. Critics don't change their given score after their initial review. Which is a shame because I have faith that this game will be fully playable for everyone....eventually. It's a shame that it's taking so long. These issues aside, you can get LBP 3 now on sale for $20 less than retail now and at that price, I fully recommend it, especially if you have someone to play with. That's why I love these games. Accessible to both casual and hardcore gamers. My score of 8 reflects a game with glitches with the promise of them being fixed. Otherwise, this game may have gotten a 9.

Ok, before anyone says, "yeah right, a 10" understand that I gave it the highest of accolades because it's simply the best After Burner game ever made and it still retains a feeling of nostalgia especially considering you can choose to play the game with the original After Burner II music intact, note for note. Reminds me back when it cost a $1 to play the motorized deluxe edition that moved your entire body left, right, up, and down. So, as old school arcade reboot, this game gets 9 +1 for nostalgia. Worth the measly $10 spent on it.

Modnation Racers is one of the greatest kart racers ever created. Immediately the game is fun to play. The quick in-game tutorial teaches you the basics and the controls are very intuitive to get use to. If you've played any of the Mario Kart games then you'll feel right at home here. The only difference is there's more depth in the game play with a turbo meter that you can use to go faster (obviously) , side-swipe opponents, or use some of it to create a quick temporary shield around you to defend yourself against attacks. Yes! Finally you can defend yourself against opponents guided missile, sonic booms, and lightning attacks if you're quick enough to deploy and have enough turbo meter to use up to do it. There's no obnoxious blue turtle shells here! I have always been a fan of the Mario Kart series and I've played and loved them all. That series is still king when it comes to characters and imaginative course layouts. But the most fun can be had with Modnation Racers. The game supports 4 player local game play and 2 player online play with up to 10 other racers. The weapons are a lot of fun to use and the track design is filled with many little short cuts and optional hazards that YOU, yourself, can change, add, or delete at your desire and then publish them online and race others on the tracks that you either modified or made entirely on your own. And there is still no shortage of fun-filled, imaginative user created tracks, mod characters, and kart racers that are all free to download and keep. Anyone looking for a fun kart racing game that awards the skilled player for playing strategically but doesn't alienate the novice noobs either, should play this game. It's still loads of fun to play.

This game is on my short list for perfect 10's. Few games come to mind that are close to this caliber of top notch presentation, amazing story, and superb game play. This is a true return to survival horror, a genre many fans felt disappeared after Resident Evil 4 (some say even before that). I honestly haven't even started to play multiplayer yet, but I only hear good to great things about it. I know it's a little late in the current gen to say this, but this is a system seller **** if I have ever played one!

The best thing about this game is even if you're not a big baseball fan, (which I'm not, at all) the game is a lot of fun due to all the options and tweaks you can do. For example, Want to change the amount of innings to just 5, 6, or 7 because it starts to get boring after an hour of playing? You can. But then wouldn't the strategy to put in a relief pitcher or pinch hitter be wasted? Nope! Because you can adjust (and save for later games with your buddies) a pitchers fatigue level so that he'll get tired in the 5th inning instead of the 8th so you're still forced to make a managerial decision. Do you like to try and steal bases when your friend's are pitching but get annoyed at how many failed attempts turn into outs and wonder why even bother? Just turn up the players ability to run just a little bit faster around the bases. The level is up to you. You'll still get called out if you're trying to steal with a slow player but at least your success rate will improve with the faster players to make it a more strategic game. It all depends on how far you want to adjust your options. This, plus all the other reasons why this game is good which you've probably already read about, (graphics, commentary, control, etc) are what makes this game so much fun and exciting. There is no equal to Sony's baseball games. At this point, one could probably find this game for no more than $5 used. It's a definitely....a home run.

I am amazed. Amazed at how bad this game is. It's important to note that I have enjoyed all the previous Resident Evil games before this (meaning 1 through 5) and Resident Evil 4 is truly one of my absolute favorite games of all time. The good? The production values. The cut scenes, at times annoying, can be impressive to watch but can get very obnoxious to sit through when one is over and then you get to literally walk down a street for 10 feet and then have to sit through another one. This isn't a good game. And what's important to note is that Capcom made 7 million copies of this mess. So if you're at all interested in buying this game, just wait a few months, this game will drop in price quicker than any other.

I also should point out that there is NOTHING as far as any extras to be found here. no trailers, no interviews, no cool little bonus extras... pressing select gives you the special moves and finishers, as well as some combo strings for umk3, but that's as far as this game goes as far as extras. that and the ability to put scan lines in the game to give it an arcade appearance... which is fun for about 3 minutes until the headache starts. and it's important to point out that as of right now, the online play is unplayable.. .. it's tough to know how much time they're gonna take to fix all these problems on what's really just a $10 purchase that probably will only appeal to the people that already bought it. To be honest, I played the first 3 MK's as a kid to **** they're really showing their age now..especially with the excellent MK9 that's been out for a short while now. I'm very disappointed.

After a few laps you start blaming yourself for not doing as good as you did with the 1st Shift game... and then you start realizing that it's the game.. It's very **** unpredictable. The physics are broken. And the Aggressive A.I.!! OMFG THE AGGRESSIVE A.I. If the community doesn't complain enough to patch this game, it'll be unplayable...worse than the first one was before the patches. What a let down. I really enjoyed the first one after they fixed it. I should explain why the AI is so bad.. You could be minding your own business, NOT being aggressive at all.. going about 20mph around an corner... and bam!!! You're car literally flips over 3 times by an AI controlled car behind you out of nowhere.. during the final lap of the race... You go from 1st place to LAST place and the race is over.. if that's your idea of fun, then play this game.

Yeah it's true. This game is really good. Doesn't matter if you're a fan of pac-man or not. this game is absolutely addicting in the best possible way. You can play for 10 or 20 minutes while you wait for the pizza guy to ring the bell or you can play for a a few hours. It doesn't require much video game skill to play, but it does require skills to get the highest scores.. and that's what makes the best games. remember how annoying it use to be to move pac-man left but he goes up or down and you die? Well that rarely happens anymore. 1st of all, the PS3 has the best d-pad on the market so errors on your part are slim to none due to a bad d-pad (like the useless 360's) and you can also use the analog stick if you wish. But as I was saying, the action slows way down before you're about to get killed by a ghost so you have TIME to respond. You or your girlfriend. And the satisfaction of eating all the ghosts that start following you, is extremely addicting. And if all else fails and you find yourself in a corner about to die, you have a bomb you can use by pressing any button and all the ghosts that are chasing you bounce back to their home base in the middle. So you don't need to be a pac-man expert or a video game junkie to appreciate and have fun with this **** if you are those things, well, there's plenty of challenge for you here too. It's seriously the best 10 bucks I've spent on a new game. Only reason why not a 10, is there's no 2 player or online modes.

Vanquish reminds me of what it felt like as a kid to play the newest and coolest arcade games in the late 80's and early 90's that SEGA made. I'm talking about those big cabinet games that moved around like After Burner and cost $1 to play. Every second of this game is fun fun fun. The graphics are beautiful and the gameplay addicting because the control mechanics are TOP NOTCH. I suggest going through the last couple tutorials before starting but after that, it's all second nature. The story behind the game is simple, but a lot of fun..again it's a throw back of the corny but cool characters in arcade games back in it's golden era before the home market caught up and became superior over the coin-ops. There are 2 demos on the PSN right now.. I played them for about an hour before grabbing my jacket to go to the store to pick this game up. Nowadays games have to be at least 10 hours of gameplay for some to bother but there is a lot more to offer here. The game makes you want to improve on all your stats because it's so addicting. Playing through it you start thinking, I bet I could get through this faster next time if I throw my grenades here first, wait to blow up the exploding barrel here, and take cover here. One of the demos is a timed challenge, this is what did it for me, besides the amazingly awesome WOW moments that's in the campaign. Think God of War with kick-ass guns, only you're not Kratos, you're a regular average good guy in an awesome accelerator suit from a bad movie. (GI JOE) Also if there are any Bayonetta fans out there, as I was, Vanquish is better.

Really good. Captures the feel of 80's arcade games with spot on sound effects with old school graphics but moves at a frantic pace. It's not overwhelming like I thought the Galaga redo was, it's somewhere inbetween that and the Pac Man Championship Edition. Very addictive... and there's a reason to play it more than once, with a good record of scores, chain combos, and leaderboards. It also supports in-game music and there's a music mode where the background goes with your beat. For a $10 download on the PSN, it's a great addition to the PS3 whenever you want to play for 15 minutes or over an hour.
